Chapter 1 - A New Chance

"Sometimes, I think my job really is a joke."

The woman's voice echoed, soft and seductive, as she sat on a majestic throne. Her dress, incredibly sexy and form-fitting, highlighted every curve with a perfection that seemed to defy mortal comprehension.

Before her, a restless soul hesitated, trying to avert its gaze but unable to resist the magnetism of her piercing stare. Her eyes, accentuated by heavy makeup, radiated an enigmatic and hypnotic glow. Her perfectly straight nose complemented her jade-like pale skin, exuding an almost supernatural beauty.

Of Asian descent, she carried an imposing presence. Her ample, voluptuous chest was evident beneath the luxurious fabric of a Chinese-style dress that shimmered under the room's dim light. Her smooth, flawless legs emanated elegance and an irresistible charm.

As she spoke, she toyed with a sculpted pipe that released black smoke with a mysterious, almost magical aroma. Her sharp nails resembled claws, and everything about her—her attire, her gestures—made it clear she was far more than just a woman. Her appearance was truly divine.

Yet, the throne on which she sat was what completed her aura. Adorned with gold and ruby details, it seemed a living symbol of her authority as a goddess, an entity combining celestial beauty with unsettling power.

"Why don't you speak to me, little child?"

Her voice resonated in the air, but this time, the seductive tone was gone. The soft touch had been replaced by something sinister, dark, wrapping around the soul before her like a snake constricting its prey. The sudden shift made the soul falter, forcing it to remember where it was. Slowly, its essence glimmered, and in an instant, its body began to take form.

"Oh, it seems you've finally awakened..." The woman smiled provocatively, observing the transformation with a sharp gaze.

The boy's eyes opened, still confused, and all he could see was the imposing figure before him. Every detail of her seemed even more threatening under the dim light of the dark place.

"Welcome to the Underworld, Kael."

"The sound of his name leaving the lips of that woman was like a decree. Before he could even grasp the weight of her words, an overwhelming wave of pain coursed through his body. It was an indescribable agony, one he had never experienced before. The sensation seemed to tear through every fiber of his being, burning his soul in an invisible fire.

He fell to his knees, his body trembling as the pain consumed him.

'What is happening?' he wondered, desperately trying to organize the chaotic thoughts flooding his mind. But the more he tried, the less he could remember. He didn't know how he had died, where it had happened... or even if he was truly dead.

"Don't think too much."

Her voice cut through his confusion, a firm command that seemed to echo directly in his mind. When their eyes met, he finally noticed something that had, until then, been impossible to ignore.

The woman was colossal. No, more than that, she was gigantic in a way that defied logic. He couldn't even measure her size; it was as if she filled all the space and yet was beyond it. Or perhaps... perhaps he was too small, insignificant before her.

The realization made his head spin.

Everything was simply confusing.

"So, am I dead?" he asked, his voice carrying an unexpected tone of relief. "Finally..."

He placed a hand over his chest, as if confirming the absence of something. "Thankfully, my life is over. What a relief."

A bitter smile appeared on his lips as he stood up, now with an air of cold determination.

"Come on, tell me. What's the way? Purgatory? Hell? Tartarus?" He made an impatient gesture with his hand. "It doesn't matter. Just send me where I'm supposed to go."

He seemed completely oblivious to the magnitude of the figure before him, speaking with an almost absurd confidence. It was as if, for a moment, he had forgotten who he was dealing with, and only the relief remained in his heart.

"It seems you misunderstood something, boy."

Her voice came suddenly, dripping with disdain and laced with a hint of amusement. Her eyes gleamed with malice, making the suffocating atmosphere even more oppressive.

"Useless beings like you don't even have the privilege of being cast into Hell," she continued, her tone cold and cutting. "Your souls are merely recycled, ground down, and reshaped to make way for new lives. You are nothing more than raw material for the cycle to continue."

Each of her words hit like a blade, devoid of empathy but filled with unquestionable purpose.

"I see... Well, let's just get it over with." He said, opening his arms as if eager. A hollow smile formed on his lips. "Nothing better than ceasing to exist."

She narrowed her eyes, clearly irritated, and let out an audible "tsk." "I hate dealing with depressed people," she muttered, crossing her legs impatiently.

"Hey, idiot," she snapped, her voice now full of irritation. "I'm literally here to give you a new life, and you're asking to be erased?!"

Her annoyed tone was a mix of frustration and disdain, while the environment around them seemed to vibrate with the crushing weight of her presence.

"Sorry, but just kill me." He said, his voice firm and heavy with exhaustion. "I don't want another shitty life only to end up back here and be humiliated again. Turn back time, or whatever, throw me into the deepest abyss and erase my existence. I've had enough."

His eyes locked onto hers, both defiant and empty at the same time, as the woman observed him in silence. No matter how much she tried, she simply couldn't understand the boy.

"Ah... so that's it." She clicked her tongue in irritation and let out a deep sigh, crossing her arms. "That's why guys like you die virgins."

Her words carried a sharp tone, mixed with exasperated impatience.

"You're that type, aren't you..." she muttered to herself, rubbing her temples as if trying to ease her frustration. "Being a goddess is so... exhausting. What a shitty job it is to be me... Izanami."

"Huh? You're... Izanami?" he asked, confusion evident in his voice.

"Oh, boy, don't test me..." she retorted irritably, waving her hand at him as if shooing away an insect. "I'm thinking."

'I hate when things come to this point...' she thought, closing her eyes as she let out a long sigh.

'It's always the same... I only ever meet two kinds of idiots: the ones who are grateful for a second chance and the suicidal fools who only know how to ask for death.'

Her expression alternated between frustration and exhaustion as she tapped her finger against the arm of the throne, clearly impatient with the situation.

"Well, let's see..." she said, leaning slightly forward as she gazed deeply into Kael's eyes.

He noticed something strange in that gaze — a red light that seemed to shine intensely in the depths of her irises. Before he could react, his body twitched involuntarily, as if it were being invaded by some foreign force. A strange sensation coursed through every fiber of his being, and then, everything stopped.

"Now I understand why you're so eager to die," she said, shrugging casually with disdain. "However, you are, without a doubt, a complete idiot."

"Huh?! You read my memories?!" he exclaimed, confused and indignant.

"That's exactly what you heard, you worm. You're an idiot," she replied without hesitation. Her voice was firm but filled with disdain.

"Ignorant Kael Redgrave. Twenty-one years old, human. You lost your parents as a teenager, then your grandparents, and, more recently, your fiancée. Tragic, isn't it?"

As she spoke, it was as if she were reading the pages of a book, narrating the events of his life without a shred of emotion.

"However..." She paused, tilting her head as if analyzing something curious. "IQ above average. Physical and genetic aptitude above humanity's average. Actually, far above it. You are extraordinary. Your statistics consistently rank in the top 0.01% of humans. Everything about you borders on perfection. And yet..."

She looked at him with renewed disdain. "You're an idiot. What a waste."

Her words hit like an invisible slap, each one carrying a brutality that left no room for rebuttal.

"Hey, if you're just going to humiliate—"

"Quiet."

Before he could finish, her voice cut through the air like a blade, and his mouth clamped shut against his will. He tried to speak again, but it was useless. It was as if something invisible and irresistible had sealed his words.

"If you lived in a cultivation world..." she began, her voice dripping with sarcasm, "you'd probably be one of those morons with absurdly extravagant titles who do nothing but cause trouble for the DAO."

She rolled her eyes dramatically before mocking him with a scornful smile:

"'Heaven-Devouring Demon God of Celestial Skies'... or some ridiculous nonsense like that."

Kael, summoning every ounce of his determination, managed to force the words out of his mouth. "I couldn't care less about that," he snapped sharply, his voice brimming with barely contained rage. It was evident he was holding himself back from exploding.

Izanami narrowed her eyes, clearly irritated by his response.

"If I were you, I would care." Her voice grew colder, and the air around them seemed to grow heavier. "Stop acting like a coward and face the opportunity I'm giving you. Just live a new life, and then you'll understand what I'm trying to tell you."

She paused, leaning back in her throne as the light in her crimson eyes burned even brighter.

"You have a body, a soul, and capabilities that few could even dream of. Take advantage of it. Stop being pathetic and do something worthy of attention." Izanami continued to hurl her sharp words like blades, each one more cutting than the last.

"I don't care." He responded without hesitation, his voice firm and unwavering.

"But I do," she shot back, her irritation now mingling with a hint of disdain. "So, screw you."

With a fluid motion, she rose from her throne, her presence instantly adjusting to Kael's size. She took a step toward him, and suddenly, he felt the intensity of her aura invade the space between them.

Without another word, she placed a finger against his chest, a light pressure that made him feel as though he was being marked, possessed in some way. Her expression shifted, from anger to cruel satisfaction, as her movements became slower, more sensual.

She slid her hand over his body, her curves brushing so close to him that he could feel the electricity in the air. She moved around him like a serpent, observing him with a mix of amusement and curiosity, before stopping right beside him, near his ear.

She leaned in, her warm, intimate whisper exploding in his mind:

"If you reach the pinnacle of the next world... I'll be yours... completely yours..."

Her voice was now a promise, filled with a threatening sensuality.

"My soul... my being... my existence... my body... all of it will belong to Kael."

So many thoughts began to flood his mind that he remained silent for a few seconds, as if consumed by an internal whirlwind.

"Considering what's going to happen to you..." she began, her voice soft but laced with subtle venom. "Do you really want to stay stuck revisiting your life, over and over again, until you're corroded by your own failures?" She delighted in her words, her tone both challenging and provocative.

"That's what Hell is like..." she continued, her expression growing darker. "You'll be trapped in an illusion, reliving your regrets, your pain, again and again... until every piece of your soul unravels. That's the punishment."

She paused, stepping even closer to him, a mischievous smile playing on her lips.

"Or..." she whispered, her voice now sweeter but loaded with irresistible temptation. "Would you rather move forward? Leave the past behind and walk a new path, unbound, without regrets? A fresh start."

"..." He accepted... after all... this woman wasn't going to give up... even knowing that whatever she offered would likely be nothing but a cruel joke. He had no way out...
