Chapter 26 - Sister•

Eudora had scheduled our meeting towards the weekend. I felt dreary. All the days of crying was taking a huge toll on me. My hair had lost its glow and my skin was pale from not going out for a long time.

I picked out a light blue tank top, paired with dark sweats and pulled a jacket over it. Aunt Dara made me sandwich and a little gift for Eudora.

I bit into the sandwich, making my way downtown walking fast, faces pass(wink wink) by me. I boarded a taxi instead of taking a whale train, didn't want to puke out the little I had eaten.

The chauffeur was playing soft blues, singing along and trying to engage in a conversation with me but I remained silent till I got to my destination.

My sister had reserved a restaurant space for us. The smell of fried ocean breathers permeates the air, making my mouth water. It was a seafood restaurant.

I look around trying to spot a familiar face. And there she was.

Finely knitted Cashmere top.

High waisted leather skirt.

Black boots to match.

Behind her chair was her coat. And next to her…someone I hadn't seen in years.

I almost stumbled as I made my way over to them. I stared at him. My breathe hitching "K-Keith?"

He stared up at me, he had kept his hair over the years. He reminded me more of Dad than Eudora. "I wish, but no it's me Taw"

Disappointment washed over me and he could see it.

"C'mon don't be sad, he'll come to us eventually"

Come to us? They didn't bother to find him? They were waiting for him to come home?

I took a seat next to Eudora. My eyes meeting hers, several memories flooding my head. I felt dizzy and disgusted. It's been years.

"It sure has" I gasped. I had spoken out loud.

"Where have you been?"

"I moved…from Aetheria"

"Why?"

"Why else? I knew the shit that was going to go down after mom died and I didn't want to take part of it"

"It didn't occur to you that I might have wanted to go too?"

She stared at me and rolled her eyes.

"I'm simply doing as she said"

She? Mama?

A large brown paper was pushed in front of me.

"This is for you, it's important so open it when you get home"

Taw chirped in. I nodded slowly, I looked around not knowing what else to say.

A few moments later, the chair next to me was drawn back and a stranger sat next to me.
