I felt like I was tuned out. Everything was discordant. My eyes were hot, heavy and blurry. I realized I had been crying the entire time.
"It's an arranged marriage, I don't love her! It's you! You're the one I truly love! I can explain everything"
He reached forward but each time he tried to touch me, a small energy pulsed around me and sent him back a couple inches. It wasn't Aunt Dara's doing.
"I had to agree because of my parents...and My career. Her father promised to help me with my career if I married his daughter. I swear the marriage is nothing but paper"
He went on his knees, his head hung low.
"It didn't occur to you that you should have told me all these?"
My voice came out coarse "Did you think me finding out this way was the best?"
"No no absolutely not" he replied immediately and crawled up to me again
"Don't fucking touch me!" I waved my hand, the room went pitch black. Tiny light twinkled, stars, Aurora Borealis and Aurora Australis came to view.
Aunt Dara was nowhere to be seen but I could hear her muffled voice. It was just this bastard and I.
"You two have nothing together? The marriage is purely contract? Her father promised you shit ton of what? Promises?" I felt livid.
I began to walk towards him, my movement sending ripples across the space
"We've been together for how long? A year? You didn't think to tell me about something like this?"
"So what?"
I paused at his response, "what?"
"So what if I told you before shit went down? Would you have stayed either way?"
My mind went blank
"You know what, Elora?" He stood up, his pitch black eyes narrowing to slits "you're just a selfish little bitch who only knows how to put herself first"
The stars around began to waver.
"You always claim to support me but did you ever go out of your way to help with it? Did you ever help me display my work? No. You didn't do anything! You!"
He pointed at me, his nails and incisors elongating. Dark energy began to surround him.
"This is my life! My work! My sweat! You don't get to tell me how I should achieve it! You don't do anything! You never did anything! You just sat in the audience doing nothing but admiring! Nothing else like a fucking..." He paused and began to laugh
"I do love you...I really do but if you're going to let such a small thing ruin our relationship, might as well fuck off"
His words were like a switch. The glowing aurora lights dimmed and went off. Leaving us in pitch black darkness.
