Chereads / I Became The Strongest Human In A Fantasy World / Chapter 3 - The Unlucky System!

Chapter 3 - The Unlucky System!

It's been a few hours since Celina started crying after getting hit by her new toy. Clyde, the one who caused her to hit her head, carried her in his legs.

She pouted as she lay still on his lap, with her thumb in her mouth.

Her eyes were fixed on the blue screen that was still in front of her. She couldn't touch it because her hands were short and also, there were more people in the room. She thought the elves weren't going to accept her, but they all came to see her. They've touched her cheek, poked it and even pulled it. Thanks to that, it was looking red and swollen.

"She's so soft!" One of the elves exclaimed.

"Her name is Celina! She's a human"

"Does it matter? The Lord has given her a name already"

"I know right? Celina is one of us now, even if she's a human"

Celina listened to them and was pleased as they continued to fawn over her. At least, she's in a place where she's accepted. There's no human around here, no one to beat her up or thrust a knife into her stomach.

Eria opened the curtain and walked into the room. She was shocked to see everyone in there, just because of Celina.

"Now now, let's give her some privacy, shall we? It's time to feed her"

"Your majesty, let me feed her!"

"No, let me!"

"I'll do it myself; go out now", Eira spoke calmly.

They turned and walked out of the room. It was left with Clyde and Eria.

"I used magic to warm the milk. Give the bottle to her, Clyde" She said.

Clyde did as he was ordered and pushed the bottle into her mouth. Celina started to suck on the bottle, allowing the liquid to flow into her mouth. It wasn't sweet, neither was it bitter, but it was enough for her.

While she sucked on the bottle, her eyes were still glued to the blue screen in front of her. It was already clear to her that no one else could see it, except her, not even the elves queen, Eria.

"Eat slowly, little one. You won't grow at this rate" Clyde poked her cheek.

Celina tried to swat his hand off her cheek, but she ended up choking on the milk. She swallowed it wrongly and it came out her nose.

{Number of unlucky points: Max (+1)}

'Unlucky points? There's no way I'll be able to understand anything with these short hands. I can't wait to grow up!'

She clenched her fist tight. Clyde still held the bottle to her mouth till she emptied it.

.

.

The first year passed, the second, the third and she's finally five years old.

Celina is the only human in the Lost City, with white hair and crimson eyes. She sat by the tree where Eria lived, with her eyes stuck in a book. She remembered it was at this same age she was thrown out of the house by her father. She silently hoped that she didn't get thrown out of the Lost City.

The other kids were running around, laughing and cheering with their shouts filling the sir. Some of them were goblins, trolls and even the dwarves.

As Celina grew up, she figured out there were more creatures living in the Lost City.

There were also a lot of things she learnt while living here for five years.

The Lost City, as they called it, is a city that's not found on the world map. It was enough for them to see it as another world. A world with only one door and the only way to go through it is by having the door sign at the back of the palm. Everyone has it and it's proper for new breeds to get the mark at the age of ten.

The creatures living in this new world were forced to be together after running away from humans' attacks. Dragons, demons, dwarves, goblins, trolls, elves and others all have bad relationships with humans, so they see humans as enemies.

She could understand why the lord, Aetherius, wanted her dead instead of accepting her into the village. He's a dragon and is seen as the number one enemy in the human kingdoms. He has his own story with humans, and so does the demon queen, Lyra. Eria had most of her people sold as slaves in the human world, while dwarves had their people worked to death by the royal families to create weapons. The goblins were killed mercilessly during training or killing games, while trolls... Well, they could escape danger by shape-shifting into stones.

Celina sighed deeply as she closed the book. She wasn't able to concentrate as the other kids were gossiping about her. She had a lot of people who liked her and also a few who didn't accept her. She's a human, and most of them see her as the cause of their misfortune.

From where she was seated, she could hear them. They were gossiping about her.

"Why would the lord accept her here?"

"I hate seeing those cunning red eyes of hers. They should kick her out!"

"What if she's a spy?"

"Hey! Let's stone her"

Celina heard every word they were saying. She held the book tightly in her hand and was about to stand up when she sensed a stone flying in her direction.

It was from one of the kids who didn't like her.

Even without looking at them, she caught the stone. But, she didn't want to catch it. She has her reason for that.

{Number of unlucky points: Max (-2)}

That was her reason!

"Hey! She caught the stone!"

"Let's throw another one"

The kids gossiped again as they prepared to throw another stone.

A fresh stone was thrown, but this time, Celina didn't catch it. She could sense it coming, but she let it hit her head.

{Number of unlucky points: Max (+1)}

Sigh!

Blood trailed down her face, but she didn't mind. It wasn't the first time it happened, anyway.

One of the elves flew towards her when she was bleeding.

"Oh, Celina. Did you hurt yourself again?"

"It doesn't hurt," she said with a fake smile. The elves didn't listen to her and just stretched her hand towards Celina's head.

"Heal!" She said. Green light shone from the elf's hand, and Celina felt the pain in her head, relieving her slowly till she couldn't feel it anymore. The blood even stopped.

No matter how many times Celina saw it, she was still impressed by it.

Magic!

It existed in her past life but only a few could use it. A mere bastard like her wouldn't dare to see it, nor even dream of using it.

She had thought about what would have happened if someone with healing magic had saved her when she stabbed in that dark alley.

Could she have lived safely after that? What would be her reason for living again? She lost the dogs that followed her everywhere and also, the gold coin.

What she was thankful for was that she was reborn here because here, she could use magic.

"Take care of yourself, Celina" the elf that healed her spoke before flying away. Celina thanked her, waving at her before checking her status window.

It has grown a lot in the last five years. No matter how much she used her unlucky point, it remained Maxed out.

Celina had used some of her unlucky points to enhance some of her stats. She was worried the points were going to reduce if she used more of them, and at the same time, they reduced anytime she tried to avoid danger. But some points get added whenever she accepts the danger and gets hurt.

That's how good and bad her system is. She could use magic but, hasn't worked on her skills yet. However, she hid everything about herself from everyone in the village.

'What if they kick me out?'

It was what she would imagine whenever she wanted to tell Eria about her strange system and the unlucky points. She could hide it from anyone but she doesn't want to hide it from the woman who saved her life when she was a baby.

"What the hell do I do?"
