Chapter 33 - Untitled

Guillimans figure dashed through the forest at an incredible pace weaving and dodging trees while being chased by a massive tortie.

The past few weeks he had been hunting with Victoria team had been indeed fruitful, but he lost an essential edge to him in that time.

It wasn't until the threat of the black berry family bared on him once again that he realized that he needed to take his future into his own hands.

Even if it meant risking it.

"There!!"

Rushing through a cover of brushes and shrubs, Guillimans figured descended down a slope into a small basin. His hand tightly gripping on his blade as he abruptly stopped half way down.

'1…2….' Under his breath, he Began to count, his eyes dashing around as if expecting something. He completely ignored the sound of the massive tortie barreling towards him as he held his ground

Soon, the Tortie broke through the cover of leaves and went directly towards him. But instead of fear, Guillimans eyes shone with resolution as he jumped back and smiled.

"Right on time" he mused.

During his time with Victoria he had noticed strange activity in this part of the forest. At first, he thought it to be a part of the wild zone since there wasn't any broader structure to its tarrain.

However, he was soon surprised to find out that this place was exactly what he had been looking for when he joined them.

It was the place where the Sacred Swordfish king had layed its little kingdom. But that was only where the surprise started.

Instead of living in a pond or even a small water body, these creatures could actually fly!! Yes, flying sword fishes.

They weaved through the air, swiftly like birds and dashed forward cutting at their enemies with their razor sharp Snouts.

"Quickly" he deactivated his amour and took a few steps back creating space as the swordfishes laid seige on the massive tortie.

Unlike the tortie that lived a scattered life, the swordfish was a more solid community, maybe it was because of their size, or maybe some other development in their evolution. But they worked together.

That was the worst nightmare for any slayer.

-Roar!!

The Tortie Roared, as it was besieged by the swordfishes from all sides, it hurriedly tried to defend itself, but it no avail.

Meanwhile,

Guillimans figure appeared just behind it, squared down with his hand on his blade. With a sharp wave, he cut directly at the beast.

But instead of hitting it, he cut one of the swordfishes in half with his strike.

Retreating backwards with a quick step, Guilliman steeled himself and smiled, this was what he wanted, immediately after he dashed forward and struck down once again.

Echoes rang in his ear as he slaughtered beast after beast…..

Meanwhile,

"Are we really not waiting for him?" Barthold asked looking a bit worried as he stared at Victoria.

They were not too far away from the three hill sized tortie and from what they could see they were considerably weakened.

"No, we can't afford to…." Victoria shook her head, she really liked Guilliman, but she couldn't let him stall the progress of the rest.

Besides, she could already feel that he was growing stronger for some reason.

"Okay" Barthold sighed thinking of what could have made guilliman depart so suddenly.

Walking forward, he reached Jemie and smiled at him feeling a bit tensed. It was just him, Jemie and the new girl viper.

Three level 3 slayers versus these monstrous hill sized beasts. What was Victoria thinking? Was she trying to get them killed?

A lot of words ran through his mind, but he also understood that this was a part of their training, at least they wouldn't be going up against a near grand stage sacred beast like the tortie at the back.

"Just draw it back, then I'll help weaken it" beside them the slim girl with green hair smirked saying flatly to the two.

Victoria, her bother thane and the old man Hamdel were already capped at Yellow. They could not participate in this fight.

However she was in a very delicate spot, standing at the very peak of level 4. Just one kill would take her to yellow so she could to the largest extent fight against the sacred beast infront of them.

The near grand beast was a totally different matter of course so they need to drag it back for her to help out.

"Okay!!" Taking in a big breath of air, Barthold readelied his shield falling into a fighting position. Then with his mace he struck his shield slowly encroaching towards the hill, taunting it.

If anyone in their right senses saw this scene they would surely feel that he had gone mad trying to provoke a hill, but the more he did it, the more annoying it was.

This shield was an ironback family treasure, it had a similar function as Guillimans shourd amour abiet being much weaker.

You could imagine comparing a sacred treasure to a mutant one.

After a few seconds of constituting a nuisance the beast was finally enraged slowly standing up and glaring at Barthold.

Instead of fighting though, Barthold immediately turned tail and ran forcing the creature to follow him slowly from behind.

It had already set its eyes on him, letting him go was not befitting of a beast like him.

Of course, this was also what they wanted to achieve

….

"Huuu" breathing out a breath full of hot hair, Guilliman could help but feel tired.

Infront of him was several corpses, one very big one and the rest much smaller fish like beasts.

"Unfortunate" after heaving for a few seconds, he raised his head and looked at the giant tortie corpse infront of him.

He couldn't kill the mutant himself, it had died from the constant attacks of the swordfishes so he hadn't gotten gene points nor an echo.

However, he did level up
