Minutes turned to hours and hours to days, and before he knew it, 3 days had gone by in a flash. Within those three days, Guilliman had altered from sleeping, practicing sword use and cleaning the beast Weiman.
Apparently, Victoria was busy with some other things and could not schedule a hunt. So he had basically been lazying around, it really bothered him as he thought of entering the forest on his own in several occasions.
Unfortunately, time had run out. He had to go home, if not for anything but to take the book under his bed. After that maybe he would just find a place to stay so he could focus completely on leveling up.
So as soon as it was bright out, Guilliman grabbed some of his things and passed through the tunnel before belining for the gate.
Before anyone knew he was out heading for the slums.
Passing through the streets, Guilliman took his time to observe his surroundings unlike before, he wasn't in a rush so there wasn't a need for all that.
The people on the streets of the shelter went about discussing several topics ranging from conversations on politics, Slayers and even food, most were extremely well learned.
However when he really put his head down he heard something that made him really uneasy.
The blackberry family
The death of their young master was seriously being investigated, especially with the rise of one of their families talents.
Apparently, the blackberry family had organized another espadtion to kill a sacred beast and this time it was a resounding success. But this success now begged a question.
Why in the hell did the other one fail? Why did the young
Master not escape even and the general consensus pointed to one thing-
-sabotage
'Things are happening faster than I expected'
Guilliman frowned, though just speculation he had a feeling it wouldn't take long before families involved in the incident would be interrogated and investigated.
Maybe even the families of the slaves. Of course it would take some time before they became that desperate.
'I'm still at level 2, that's not nearly enough….' Guilliman frowned, becoming stronger as a slayer seemed to be harder than the thought.
With Victorias cohort, he was able to fight monsters that would fill his gene points in seconds, but even with that he was only at the edge of level 2. Could a measly level 2 beat anyone in the blackberry family?
Determination filled his mind in an instant, after this visit, the next thing he would do would be to enter the forest, with or without Victoria.
After about an hour and 30 minutes Guilliman soon made it to the slums, and with a direct line he went directly for the apartment building his stayed in with his so called parents.
However just as he stepped foot on the stair case he felt a sense of danger run down his spine forcing him to stop.
Closing his eyes, Guillimans surroundings went dark as he scanned his immediate surroundings.
The soul king class wasn't so different from the abilities of shamans, some of them still remained of course others would be unlocked later on. But this one in particular was very basic.
Soul pulse
It allowed him to perceive souls that were less concentrated than his own, to him that was basically everyone. When activated he could see anyone in hiding.
Up the stair, in their apartment, several slayer souls could be observed in his space, people much more stronger than even him.
'I'll take the back'
Guilliman was naturally cautious, he didn't know who they were of course, maybe people form Carlsons training center? Maybe the building administrator? They were a few individuals that came to mind.
But caution was the key word here. He couldn't risk himself like that, so using his rabbit braces, he jumped to the window of the attic. Nimbly entering the house without making a noise.
"What do you mean we let him go? When has it ever been a practice to let slaves you paid for go?" Down below, the harsh voice of a young man resounded as he stared down at Guillimans mother.
After taking a roster of the dead, they noticed that two slaves were unaccounted for, one female and the other male, the female was a long time property of theirs so it was extremely hard to find where she was from.
But the male was rescent. They especially knew him from the fact that his own parents sold him to them. But for them to come here now and hear that the kid had been 'released' it sounded several alarms in their heads.
Was this the person they were looking for? Was this the spy sent to kill the young master, and was this family in on it?
They were so many questions, but right now all they could do was first of all find the kid.
"Okay, tell us where he is" the young man using his other hand packed up a bunch of his jet black hair and asked looking rather frustrated.
"I….think he got a job as a stable boy, he should be bag today" Yasper, Guillimans step father spoke, this kid had brought trouble to their home.
Did this good for nothing really have a hand in the death of the young master of the blackberry family? That couldn't be right, he was but a weak nobody.
"So we should wai…" the young man from the blackberry family was about to speak when he noticed a gaze from the crack in the roof.
He immediately frowned squinting his brows, but in the next seconds it was replaced with two light holes.
Was he seeing things?
He thought
However, inside the attic, Guilliman laid on his back, his heart nearly beating through his chest. They were talking about him down there, his cover had been blown to pieces.
'I need to get out of here'
Guilliman decided slowly turning before crawling backwards towards his bed, he couldn't make a pip of noise, else he might just get captured today.
Thankfully, he was very good at sneaking in and out of this house specifically. So before anyone knew it he was by his bed, stuffing important things into his bag.
He would not be coming here again.
Finally after a few seconds, he picked up the big book from under his bed and placed it in his bag
But just as he was about to leave, the door to the attic shot open as Carlsons gaze matched his from the ladder.
"I knew it!! He's right here!!!" Carlson said at the top of his voice calling the attention of those Below.
From his room, he could hear Guilliman whenever he picked up that massive book of his and would frequently complain. Thankful he heard it once more again today enabling him to find him.
"Shit" Guilliman cursed as he felt countless presences grow bright as they tried to go up the attic.
Without a second thought, he activated the rabbit braces and jumped through the window flying high into the sky.
"What the???" Carlson was taken aback by this scene and before he knew it-
Guiliman was gone
