Chapter 24 - She’s more reckless than me

'King Code Sacred Tortie' Guilliman thought in his mind, his face painted with true surprise. He had come here in search of a king class Sacred Swordfish, was this the kind of thing he signed up to face?

Guilliman frowned deeply, it seemed like just being at Level 2 couldn't handle a sacred beast no matter how hard he tried.

Of course, these two massive beasts were a special case all together. They were what one would call invincible in their level.

They were a lot of regulations on who could hunt what in the forests. For example, himself, Victoria and the rest could not enter testing areas to hunt, just like that really powerful Slayers couldn't come here to kill these beasts.

As a result, they had become stronger over the decades reaching a stage where they couldn't be killed unless a massive number of slayers came for them, and even then it would be incredibly hard.

Just look at the force the outpost sent out to kill the Black-Devil mole.

At best they were severely injured with several dead, at worst? They would have all been whipped out.

This was a team of at least a dozen level 4 slayers, the pinnacle of those capped at blue. If they couldn't kill it how could anyone?.

The other option would be to allow it enter the Grand stage so stronger Slayers could besiege it. But that wouldn't happen anytime soon.

Digging its claws into the ground, the Tortie blasted forward with all its might crashing directly into the black Devil mole. The resulting force fell a few trees, and removed it from its assault of the two remaining Tortie.

The black devil had taken the life of its child, the Tortie was enraged.

Drawing its head back into its shell, a wave of energy radiated from its forehead and it struck towards the chest of the beast, caving it's ribs in.

Then with its heavy claw it's struck at the creature repeatedly.

Meanwhile,

Guiliman struggled to hold on at the back of the giant Tortie as it engaged the black devil mole.

This kind of fight was definitely not something anyone of his generation had seen in the shelters, a tussle between such monsterous and massive creatures. It was a sight to behold.

Victoria was smart to think of such a solution, you can't beat you enemy? Why not pit him against someone stronger than him?.

He turned to the side to see how she was fairing, but-

He could not find her.

"Ahh??" Guilliman quickly looked around, his gaze landing atop the figure rushing down the front of the tortie in quick succession.

His eyes widened before descending into a massive frown.

Was she trying to escape without him? No that didn't make sense, the safest way to leave was to make Guilliman jump them out of there. Plus she was running down the front and not the back.

A second later, Guilliman couldn't help but shake his head.

'No, that can't be the case, she not that stupid'

He thought in his mind, even he wouldn't try something so risky. She was the young mistress of a powerful family, she couldn't put her life on the line like that right?

She wouldn't try to kill the beast on her own….

But as he thought of it some more, Guilliman continued frowning slowly turning his expression grave.

She knew exactly where this creature was, this nearly impossible thing, that meant that she was stalking it. And in the first instance of danger, her mind didn't go to

Actually finding a way out.

Instead she choreographed this entire fight, pitting these two against each other.

'She planned this…'

The realization struck him.

Someone from a background such as Victoria, hiring outsiders to help her hunt monsters, even though she didn't need them. Slowly bidding her time and becoming stronger. On the outside this was quite normal….

But she didn't need to be in a place as dangerous as this, fighting monsters as strong as this, she could act like the blackberry families young master hand brought her family here…

Unless she was planning to do something so dangerous even her family would approve of…

All of a sudden, Guilliman raised his head up and watched her jump into the air during one of the torties charges. Before his very eyes, he watched as she climbed onto the back of black-devil where she struggled to hold on.

After a few seconds, she stabilized and started running up its shoulders, her eyes filled with determination. At this point in the battle between the two king code scared beasts, the Tortie had surprisingly dominated the Black-Devil mole.

With the help of its counter parts on the side, a lot of damage had been done to the devil leaving it gasping for breath.

However, it didnt stop, still hoping to get at Guilliman who was at the back of the giant Tortie.

But all of a sudden, it felt a numbing sensation on its head, it started there, then began to spread slowly…that wasn't the only thing that was spreading of course, there was also a burning fire that was engulfing it's fur burning it to a crisp.

Unfortunately, it didn't feel the pain since it's entire body was now numb, that is until he saw it with its own eyes. It was on fire.

—Roar!!!!

The creature roared at the top of its voice staggering backward until it fell on the butt. Watching it Blazing with fire, the other torties fell back afraid of being consumed also.

They then watched as the creature slowly withered….and died.

Guilliman who was now dangling from the side of the slain Tortie looked at the charred skin of the black-devil mole with worry.

There was no sign of Victoria.

'Did she survive?' He thought, the sudden fire and the collapse of the black-devil mole was too abrupt, she couldn't have seen it coming. This was a messed up situation, it was the second influencal person in the sanctuaries to die in his presence.

Was this some sort of pattern? Why was he so unlucky? Guilliman felt frustrated thinking what he would tell Jemie and the rest.

That was when from the corner of his eyes he saw a bright light shine from the back of the black-devil moles skull as a mass of flesh was torn open.

Then from within it, a young lady stepped out…. In her hand was a massive curved blade painted red and with it, a red mist protruded the environment.

She looked like a god of slaughter.
