The worse thing to ever go through is thinking you belong somewhere just to find out you weren't loved. In the end I always end up alone because that's my fate. That's a pain that no one will ever understand unless you were in my shoes. That's something no one should ever have to go through. It's a wound that can never be healed.
The next day, Rin ended up going to Tokyo Hospital because that's where Kazuto and Riku were resting. Rin brought food and flowers. When he arrived in the room they both were asleep. Rin left the stuff there and left a letter for them both. Rin sat on a chair and sighs. Rin, "Sorry for leaving without saying a word." Rin left the room because visiting hours were about to be over. Rin headed back to work and he was quiet once again. He was lost in thought. Rin was staring at a glass cup that had a star symbol on it. He thought about the past. Many years ago, when Rin was 8 years old he was adopted by the Sato clan. When he arrived at the home he met Riku, his little brother. Riku hid behind a bodyguard. Rin, "Hi my name is Rin." Riku came out from hiding. Riku, "My name is Riku." Rin, "We are brothers." Riku's eyes sparkle with excitement. They both played together and time passed. Rin was 14 years old when he overheard the elders, and his adopted father Shiro Sato talking. Rin came back from after school activities. Elder, "Shiro you can't keep that thing here." Shiro, "Excuse me? That thing is my son and the eldest son of this family." Elder 2, "Shiro, he is a monster. What happens when his powers are out of control? Hm? He could hurt you or hurt Riku." Shiro, "Are you saying that you guys don't love Rin?" Elder 3, "It's best if he went back to the orphanage." Shiro, "You want him to isolate himself from the world? He's just a kid." Elder 4, "He is dangerous for our family. What do you think the public is going to think?" Shiro, "You guys rather choose our family's reputation over Rin?" Shiro looked at all the elders. Shiro, "You guys already made up your mind? Aniki?" The head of the clan and Shiro's cousin Akira were silent. Shiro, "He is family..." Rin heard that and that completely broke his heart. Later that night, Rin played with Riku one last time. Rin kissed Riku on the forehead. He left a letter for Shiro and waited for everyone to fall asleep that night. Rin packed his things and left. Rin went back to the orphanage and the owner welcomed him back in. She was already contacted. Owner, "Rin, I'm..." Rin, "It's my fate. I was born to be alone. I was never meant to be loved by anyone. I am a monster." The owner was a witch and she was powerful enough to stop Rin if he were ever to go on a rampage. Rin never opened up his heart to anyone since that day. He talked to a few people here and there. He stopped smiling and became real quiet. Rin was known to be a bright and outgoing child. However, can you blame him? The people he loved and could trust stabbed him in the back. Anyone who has been adopted and sent back into the system those wounds never truly heal no matter how many years it has been. Children know more than meets the eye. Back to the present day and Rin went out of the city taking the train to the beach. Rin thought about the first time he met Kazuto and how they first fought each other. How they hated each other so much but eventually became friends but Kazuto left him behind without saying goodbye. Rin stared at the stars and he took out gum to chew. He didn't smoke but he would rather chew gum than smoke. Meanwhile, Riku woke up to see the flowers and his favorite food. Riku called for the nurse to come in. The nurse came in and the nurse held the note. Riku had tears rolling down his face. Nurse, "Are you okay Mr. Sato?" Riku, "I am okay...It's just...I am just glad to know he is alive." Kazuto woke up. Kazuto, "Why are you crying?" Riku, "Shut up! My Niichan..." Kazuto was confused. Kazuto, "You have an older brother." Riku, "His name is Rin." Kazuto's eyes were wide open. Kazuto was in a car accident a long time ago when he went overseas. He lost his memories but when he heard that name his memories returned to him. Kazuto, "Does your brother have werewolf ears and a tail?" Riku nodded his head yes. Kazuto, "Fuck....I owe him an apology." Riku, "We both do. Riku, "We both do but how do you know my Niichan?" Kazuto, "We were friends a long time ago. I met him when I was in middle school. Man we hated each other to the core." Riku, "Why?" Kazuto, "I had a bias towards halflings. I thought they were monsters and were dangerous to society because I lost my older sister to one. I thought all of them were the same. Rin proved me wrong but he was strong. We lost and won equally. Eventually, I became friends with him until I had to go overseas." Riku, "That's when your grandma." Kazuto, "I got into a car accident. I lost all my memories but when you said his name I remembered him. I remembered him because he had hazel eyes and he was super strong." Riku and Kazuto both went quiet. The nurse left them both and she worked at the Sato clan a long time ago too. She decided to report it to Shiro. A month later, Kazuto decided to go visit Rin who started to go to the beach more often to get his mind off of things. Kazuto, "I figured you were here." Rin turns around and Kazuto thought he was going to get punched again. Rin just stared at Kazuto. Kazuto eventually told Rin what happened. Rin, "So I knocked some sense into you?" Kazuto, "Yeah and I am truly sorry. Can you forgive me?" Rin sighs and pinches Kazuto's cheeks. Rin, "You owe me a smoothie and welcome back." Kazuto's face softened and he was relieved. Rin eventually told Kazuto what he has been up to lately. Rin, "I was going to enjoy my day off until two idiots destroyed my house." Kazuto scratched his head. Kazuto, "I'm sorry and I'll help pay for the damages." Rin, "Now why were you and my brother fighting?" Kazuto, "Oh...Um..." Kazuto explained that situation. Rin, "I swear I am going to get a headache with you two. It's hard enough that I am trying negative things in this world with my powers." Kazuto smiled and then they both laughed together. Kazuto, "So you're not mad?" Rin, "Well, it's not your fault. I am just glad you are alive and well." Kazuto, "Do you not watch the news?" Rin, "No, I decided not to get myself involved with the world's problems." Kazuto, "Why?" Rin, "Well, maybe if they treated me with decency and respect." Kazuto went quiet because he could never understand Rin's pain since he turned into a full werewolf. Kazuto, "Can we be friends once more?" Rin's eyes were wide open. Rin, "Once again he still reached out to me." Rin, "We have to take it slow." Kazuto smiled and so did Rin. They both headed back. Eventually Kazuto became a regular. Manager, "Um..Young master how do you know Rin?" Kazuto, "We are friends." Manager, "But your sister." Kazuto, "If Rin hurt anyone wouldn't he have done that by now?" The manager went quiet. Kazuto, "Also, we should be helping the werewolves who go on a rampage." Manager, "Full moon is coming." Rin, "Is it that time already?" Rin was nervous. Kazuto, "It's your first full moon right?" Rin, "Yes." As they were talking, Riku came into the bar. Rin, "Hey little star." Riku had tears rolling down his face. Riku ran to hug him and Rin hugged him back. Their older cousin Mitsuki came as well. Mitsuki, "Thank god." Rin, "Hey Aniki."The three of them drink to catch up. Riku, "Niichan, will you come back?" Rin, "I can't." Kazuto was listening to the conversation. Mitsuki, "Can you come back and visit?" Rin, "Sure but it's just going to take time. I have a lot of stuff to reflect on." Mitsuki, "Take your time. You're always welcome. Let's go, Riku." Riku hugged Rin one last time. Rin, "You guys owe me for property damage." Mitsuki, "Don't worry, I already have someone to take care of it." Mitsuki sees Kazuto. Mitsuki, "Mr. Sasaki." Kazuto, "Mr. Sato." They glared at each other. The manager started to laugh and Rin just sighs. Kazuto, "I won't fight you guys for now." Mitsuki stared at Rin. Mitsuki, "Yes for now. I just got back my cousin. I don't want to ruin the moment. Contact me if you need anything." Rin, "You'll know where to find me." Mitsuki waved bye as he was leaving with Riku. Rin smiled and Kazuto rolled his eyes. Rin, "Kazuto don't pick fights now." Kazuto, "Alright." Manager, "Young master listening to someone? That's new." Kazuto, "Shut up, we need a plan for the full moon." Rin, "Sounds like a lot of work." Manager, "Don't worry you'll have the day off. Since it's your coming of age." For werewolves when they become an adult they go through this phase of rampage where they have no control over their powers. The practices the werewolves most do is leave them be in a forest or an area where they can go on their rampage and once the full moon is gone then they will return back to normal. Something Rin knows that is going to happen. Some incidents other werewolves can get hurt in the process but thanks to the full moon their wounds will heal. However, Rin's a different case since he is halfling. Since halflings are only 1% of the population not enough studies are conducted to help them when coming of age happens. Will Rin remain himself or become a different person? Who knows. That's why it's a curse or blessing. That's why Rin distances himself from others. He doesn't know if he will become a killing machine or stay his normal self. There have been cases where halflings lose control of their powers and have been put down many times. Not many are known to survive. The only thing Kazuto and his manager can do is know what they know as werewolves. Three days later, Rin was brought to a forest and the full moon was out. Rin's eyes glowed and he went on a rampage. Kazuto and his men stayed far away but could feel the ground shaking as well as sense the rampage. Men, "Aniki, will Rin-aniki be okay?" Kazuto, "We must trust and believe he will return back to his normal self. This is something out of our control. It's up to him if he let his instincts take over or his killing instincts take over. All we can do is wait." Meanwhile, at the Sato clan Riku was outside in the garden staring at the full moon. Shiro came out to join him. Riku, "Niichan will be okay right?" Shiro, "All we can do is hope for the best." Riku, "Was Auntie able to help him?" Shiro, "She was only keeping his powers stable but this is out of her hands." On the other hand the auntie Rina who took care of Rin most of his life was praying. Rina, "Ancestors please watch over Rin." Morning eventually came and Rin destroyed half of the location which was Sasaki's land. Compared to the past, other werewolves actually completely destroyed the forest Rin didn't. Rin was half naked and his muscles were showing and any wounds he had were gone. He was laying on the ground asleep. Kazuto comes to check on him and Kazuto puts his jacket over Rin. He picks Rin up and takes him back to the bar. Manager, "So he is alive." Kazuto, "We shall see how he reacts when he wakes up." Kazuto carried Rin upstairs and laid him on the bed. 8 hours later, Rin woke up with a headache. Rin, "Ugh…My head." Rin's hair grew longer and he decided to cut it. Rin takes a shower and wears his clothes but they were tight on him. Rin walks down the stairs. Kazuto, "How are you feeling?" Rin, "Okay. Just tired." Manager, "I feel ya. I remember my coming of age." Kazuto, "I had mine last year and it was bad." Manager, "I heard. Nearly killed your father." Kazuto, "Hey he is alive is he not?" Manager, "Yeah thanks to the full moon." Kazuto, "Hey he is alive is he not?" Manager, "Yeah thanks to the full moon. Welcome to being an adult." Rin can finally drink and they celebrate. However, Rin couldn't be near humans just yet. Sometimes it takes a couple of days for the powers to settle. On the other hand there was a halfling similar to Rin. However, he had dark magic and he stayed to himself but he arrived in Tokyo, Japan because he heard about Rin. He was standing on the rooftop of a building and he saw the snake clan. He overhears the conversation they had and he attacks them. The next day, Rin was brought to the police for questioning since the customer knew about Rin. Rin was in handcuffs. He was confused about what was going on. Rin, "What did I do?" To be continued….
