After a few weeks of peaceful learning, trouble struck. Layna was reading in at a quiet spot in the woods within the school when Richard appeared out of nowhere and took the book from her hands.
"Give that back!" She said standing up from where she sat.
"I see what you're trying to do... You're playing hard to get... You're doing this naive young lady game but don't worry I love it... A demure young lady will taste nice"
He grabbed Layna and started tearing at her clothes. Layna's eyes dilated as she seemed stuck in a trance.
Her body however struggled subconsciously. She kneed Richard in the groin and freed herself from him.
Standing on a tree was Morgan. He had been observing Layna since she started reading till the time Richard came.
'she's nothing special after all' he thought
"You slut!" Richard cursed "be grateful I even want to f*** you! I'm gracing you with my regale d***"
Layna balled her fists and stared at Richard. Her hair fluttered and her irises emitted a green glow. The trees around seemed to resonate with her.
'interesting' Morgan thought, his lips curving into an enticing smile.
She held Richard by his neck and lifted him in the air effortlessly with one hand.
"I'm not a slut" she said tilting her hair to the side
"I'm not a slut ... Why did you do it?"
Layna seemed stuck in some kind of dream as she was staring at Richard but her eyes were not focused.
"Let... M...me ...go ...." Richard struggled
Seeing that Richard was about to die, Morgan leapt down from the tree and walked towards Layna. His irises turned red as he leaned towards her side form behind and whispered in her ear,
"Let go..."
Layna frowned. She looked like she was struggling with some kind of force within her. After a while she let go of Richard who fell weakly at her feet. Liam bent to Richard's level and said,
"This was a punishment from the gods for your wickedness... We were never here"
Richard looked dazed and he fainted. Morgan picked up Layna in princess carry as well as her stuff. He leapt across the city at a speed that wasn't visible even as a blur to the naked eye.
He arrived at his apartment and placed Layna on a couch. Seeing that she was still delirious he held her head and started muttering incoherently.
Layna snapped out of her stupor after a while.
She glanced around at the unfamiliar house and jolted when she saw Morgan holding a cup of coffee, leaning against the wall. He was staring at her like she was an intriguing piece of art.
"What am I doing here?" She asked in a low voice
Suddenly she looked like she remembered something,
"I killed him... I killed him" she muttered to herself and stood up from the couch, pacing back and forth in the living room.
Morgan who was obviously amused sat down on a couch facing her.
"You're worried after the deed is done?" He asked
"Oh my God! I killed someone... I'm not even an adult yet.. I killed someone"
Morgan cocked his brows at her words.
"Shouldn't you be worrying about your newly found abilities? What you truly are?"
"That's right!" She exclaimed and turned to him "what are you?"
Liam let out a snort. He glanced at her and his irises turned red while his canines elongated into fangs.
Licking his fangs he replied,
"A vampire"
Layna took a deep breath, paced around a bit more then asked,
"What then am I ?"
"That's some impressive self control there young lady... You seem to be a werewolf"
"A what now?"
"I am as surprised as you are doll... What are you doing in the human world wandering away from your pack?"
"Holy shit!" She exclaimed
He appeared in front of her in an instant,
"Minors shouldn't be swearing... Layna"
Layna stepped back and cleared her throat,
"I'll be eighteen in a few weeks, what does it matter?"
She picked up her bag and bade him good bye,
"Thank you very much for today... I need to go now... Also could you testify for me in court that I killed him out of self defense?"
Morgan laughed out loud.
"Go home doll... The boy lived"
He handed her his complimentary card,
"Call me"
On the way home Layna stared at the card for awhile then texted the number on the card,
"Damn you Morgan!"
' I've been wanting to say this for a long time' she thought to herself.
Morgan stared at Layna's text and laughed for the umpteenth time. He leaned against the banister of his veranda and swirled a glass of blood in his left hand.
"Finally some entertainment"
