'Wait.. what?' I thought to myself as I listened to the system messages. But then it hit me. As I reread the last operation, I saw that it was undergoing. I was about to modify myself. Did that mean my body?
That was when I felt the most excruciating pain ever. It was so bad I felt my body lock up. I couldn't move at all. I wanted to scream, but I couldn't even do that. It was like I was being melted alive and reconstructed all over again.
I guess, in a sense, that was what was happening. The system was completely changing my physical makeup. I could feel that after my bones melted and reconstructed, the next thing to be worked on was my muscles.
They were ripped and shredded into nothingness and somehow came back into being, stronger than ever. My internal organs felt horrible when being worked on. I assumed this to be the most painful thing I would feel during this process. I was wrong, very, very wrong.
When the reconstruction got to my head, that is when the true pain started. First, I felt my eyes disintegrate, and then came my teeth and skull. When it first touched my brain, I lost consciousness instantly.
When I woke, I kept my eyes closed, trying to feel my body's changes. I could feel that I seemed to be sturdier. My muscles felt more compact and ready to explode with power. My mind seemed to think clearer and helped me reign in my chaotic emotions. Knowing that I was ready for it, the system took the chance to start its notifications.
