Chapter 5 - Learning About The Immortal World

"Okay, Kranos, we will start by learning how to speak Ingles," the middle-aged man held Kranos hand and entered into a room by the side where the lecture would take place.

Like that, six months passed, and inside the mini-royal library, two people were talking, "But Uncle Luke, I can speak Ingles fluently now; I think I'm ready to start learning about the history of this world."

"Sigh, what do I do? If I don't allow you, you will report me to your mother like last time. I really can't take a beating!" Luke said with an exhausted expression.

"Then why don't you just let me go through with my plan and let me learn about the history of this world?" Kranos pleaded.

"No! Your mother said, Only when you're three years old will I let you know about the outside world. There are only four months left; why can't you just wait?"

"Sigh," Kranos put on a look of pity.Uncle Luke, "I guess I have no choice but to tell Mom that you are not teaching me anything!"

"What? No!"

"Who do you think Mom would believe? Her lovely son or some random librarian?"

"You, you, you! I'm not some random librarian; I'm the royal librarian in charge of this mini-library!"

"If you are not some random librarian, why will they put you in a 'mini' royal library and not the real deal?"

Luke was speechless; he didn't expect Kranos to be so good with words.

"See?" Kranos put on a victorious, smug smile.

Luke could only sigh in defeat, "You mustn't tell your mother about this; also, you can't tell on me even if I don't teach you, promise?"

"Yes, Uncle Luke," Kranos readily nodded his head, but then he turned curiously to Luke, "But Uncle, could it be that you plan to skip classes?"

"Cough, cough, cough, how can that be? I'm just taking precautions for when I fall sick. Cough, Luke replied awkwardly.

Hmph, how can a cultivator like you fall sick? Don't think I'm ignorant about cultivators, Kranos sneered inwardly, but he didn't mind; he knew that it was a big deal for his teacher to let him read books from the library; doing him such a small favor seemed insignificant compared.

Luke turned towards an upper shelf and took some books. "Here, start with this!" He passed them on to Kranos.

Kranos took the books and found a corner to sit in; he then began studying them. The first book bore the title, 'Basic Knowledge of the Immortal World.'

It seems that this is called the immortal world, but for it to be called a world, does that mean that there are other planets in this world?

Kranos soon got his answer.

"The currently known world is divided into three sections: the mortal world, the immortal world, and the divine world. It is currently known because it is unknown if there are other worlds aside from these."

"In the mortal world, the highest cultivation level that can be reached is rank 5, also known as the monarch realm; the realms are qi condensation, foundation establishment, core formation, dao palace, and monarch."

"Once one breaks through to the sixth realm, the god incarnation realm, the gate to the immortal world will be opened to them, through which they can head to the immortal world."

"In the immortal world, the highest cultivation level that can be reached is rank 12, the divine realm; god incarnation, god realm, god king, god emperor, etcetera."

"There are diverse races in the immortal world, but they are mainly divided between 7 main hagemon races: the humans, demonic beasts, magical beasts, giants, elves, fairies, and major races alliance, which is an alliance of middle-sized races that combine their strength in order to stand on the same level as the hegemon races."

"Humans awaken their cultivation root bone and elemental affinity core at the age of 7-10, depending on when they want to awaken, but once one passes this age, there would be little to no chance of awakening, through which they constantly evolve their core and root bone to grow stronger. In a hundred people, only about 8-10 can awaken an elemental affinity, while it is quite easy to awaken a root bone for cultivation."

"Although one can still cultivate quite easily without an elemental affinity, they would be far weaker than opponents at the same level with elemental affinity. Of course, both elemental affinity and root bone are divided into grades: f-grade, e-grade, d-grade… a-grade, s-grade, ss-grade, sss-grade. The higher the grade, the stronger one's elemental affinity would be, and the higher the grade, the faster one would cultivate."

"Magical beasts awaken physiques. These physiques are divided into similar grading, from physiques that are common, like robust strength, to extremely rare physiques, like the ability to read minds and form a clone."

"Magical beasts look similar to humans, with only some parts of them being similar to that of animals, for instance, cat ears, or tails, birds talons, etcetera."

"Them comes demonic beasts with their demonic core; they are extremely ferocious, reproduce fast, and love to eat other races, which caused them to become the enemy of all races. They can constantly evolve by eating living things. Of course they too have some unique powers."

Shock! Utter shock! Kranos was so engrossed in the book that he didn't realize the passage of time; to think there are so many kinds of creatures here! I need to get stronger quickly; Kranos suddenly felt a sense of urgency; he didn't think this world would be so terrifying.

Although he knew that this world was beyond ordinary, he didn't think it would be so horrifying; just reading about the description of the creatures of this immortal world made him break out in a cold sweat.

"Calm your mind; even if the sky falls, you are too weak for now; there will be others to hold it up." At this moment a voice entered his ears; it sounded gentle, like a spring breeze cooling all Kranos thoughts. He turned around to see a beautiful lady looking at him.

"Mother," Kranos said lightly, his thoughts now clear, that's right; there is nothing to be worried about. I will leave everything to Mom and Dad for now. When it is my time to hold up the sky, I will not let any harm befall them.

Thinking this, he leaned forward and fell into his mother's embrace; in her warmth, he fell asleep.
