Chapter 8 - Actually I Possess An Affinity...

[You can purchase an elemental affinity from the time shop with time points.]

I see kranos smiled slightly, he then proceeded to pick an elemental affinity, he didn't need to consider it much, based on his priority he decided to pick the space element.

It fascinated me how grandpa was able to teleport me here from that long distance. With this, my movement would no longer be hindered; I will easily be able to slash my opponents with the time sword and accelerate its growth.

After confirming his thoughts, Kranos immediately picked the space elemental affinity; still, I wonder what difference there is between the SSS-grade and the eternal grade.

Kranos then proceeded to open the time shop. So this is the time shop? Kranos was shocked to see that the time shop only contained one piece of equipment, and the equipment cost one thousand time points! That would take more than one and a half months.

[After you reach the time condensation realm, other items would be available for purchase.]

That seems interesting; I guess I won't be purchasing the elemental affinity or any other thing anytime soon, Kranos sighed in disappointment. He then proceeded to ask the system some questions.

System, what is the time condensation realm?

[After you purchase the rank one-time cultivation manual, you can cultivate to the first realm, which is the time condensation.]

Does this mean that my cultivation would be different from that of others?

[Yes.]

I see. When I reach the time condensation realm, what items would be available for purchase?

[Items and abilities from rank 1-5.]

Although I don't know what the items and abilities from ranks 1-5 are, I guess it must be something good. Kranos smiled faintly; today had been nothing short of amazing to him, from awakening the time system to gaining a space affinity. Everything could be considered shocking.

If the knowledge of everything is to be released into the world, would it cause a legendary battle? Kranos chuckled; at this moment, he sensed someone entering inside his house; he immediately knew that it was his mother and father.

He quickly closed the system and went to greet them; my parents must be disappointed in me.

"Father, mother, welcome back home," Kranos said as he came out of his room and saw his parents.

Seeing his son Raphael sigh, he could guess how disappointed his son must have been to discover that he possessed no elemental affinity. Even he was saddened by the fact that he could not talk to his son, who had always been fascinated by magic.

"Son, magic isn't everything," his mother tried to comfort him. "I and your dad were talking just now, and we have decided to let you become a knight."

"A knight?" Kranos raised an eyebrow in surprise; of course he knew what becoming a knight was. They focused on using the knight breathing to strengthen themselves; they also practiced swordsmanship. Unfortunately, no matter how strong a knight is, he would always be one step below ordinary mages.

What this meant was that a rank one mage could defeat a rank two knight; as for geniuses, a rank one mage could even defeat a rank three or four knight. This was just the disparity between a mage and a knight.

There was another reason why becoming a knight was unpopular; that was because it was very difficult to practice the knight's breathing and increase one's strength as a knight; besides needing a large amount of food, they needed to have a strong mentality.

Through knight's breathing, a knight could never increase their lifespan, unlike mages. So, even if one became a knight, they would still live a short life of a hundred years plus. Becoming a knight just ensures one could become stronger than average in this world of experts and nothing more.

"Yes, although you can't cultivate, who knows? You just might have a talent for knights breathing; I've heard about knights that are terrifyingly strong; I've even encountered some of them," his father interjected.

Kranos couldn't help but feel a certain warmth inside because of how caring his parents were towards him; if it were most people, they would have abandoned him, as a 'mortal,' but his parents were thinking of ways to make him stronger.

It seems being a knight is a good choice; with that, I would be able to use the time sword much more easily. Kranos had come to a decision: he would study swordsmanship. It felt like the best choice. In the daytime, I would practice swordsmanship, and at night I would cultivate my space element.

Thinking of this, Kranos couldn't help but frown inwardly; he was pondering how he would get his hands on the normal cultivation manual. Although his cultivation path would be different since he had to follow the time cultivation scripture in order to be more versatile in time manipulation, he needed to know some space-related spells.

It seems I have to reveal to my parents the existence of my space affinity; my ability to control time would be my deepest secret.

"Okay, Dad, Mom, I will study to become a good swordsman, but I have something to tell you." Kranos abruptly said, causing his parent to be curious. They looked at him puzzledly, waiting for him to speak.

"I have an affinity with an element."

Kranos' words were like a thunderclap in his parents ears. They couldn't believe what they were hearing.

"Son, I know you really want an elemental affinity, but you have to acknowledge the fact that you don't possess one. You saw the results of the awakening orb," his father said with a slight frown.

"What if my talents were too great for the awakening orb to detect?" Immediately after Kranos finished speaking, he vanished from his spot and reappeared in front of his father. Although he hadn't practiced an elemental spell yet, with how high his affinity for space is, he could do some basic things with his element.

Raphael and Anna were shocked; they looked at Kranos as though they were looking at a monster; the next moment, a loud laughter that seemed like a roar resounded in the room.

"hahahahahaahahaha…"
