I turned around, and my heart skipped a beat. His deep blue eyes came into view. They had such an intensity that it made me want to hide away. Surprised by his sudden arrival, "How? You?" I couldn't form a proper sentence because of our closeness, and this cramped changing room was not helping me either.
"Surprise, Mrs. Anderson," he said softly, and I looked into his gorgeous eyes again. His handsome face is still same, as I remember from two years before. The mole just below his lips came into my view. God Lyla, control your emotions. I internally scold myself.
"Don't you like me coming back?" he suddenly asked, looking at my silent figure as he moved closer to me, as if we weren't already close enough.
"What? No, I-I…" I took a deep breath to calm myself down before speaking softly. Find a right word to describe my feelings I said. "Welcome home."
A small smile bloomed on his face after hearing my words.
"But how did…" I tried to asked about his sudden arrival, whena sudden knock interrupted us.
"Mrs. Anderson, do you need any help?" an assistant finally decided to come. It reminds me where we were.
"You take your time. I will wait outside," Noah said and walked out before I could stop him.
"Mrs. Ande—Oh, Mr. Anderson, you? Here?" The assistant's eyes went wide as she saw Noah walking out.
A warm blush spread across my cheeks as her gaze fell on me. I just downwards to avoid any eye contact with her.
"She didn't need any help. You can go," Noah informed her in his infamous cold tone, quite different from how he spoke with me.
"Alright, Sir." She said before walking as her pants was on fire.
I hurriedly adjusted my dress before walking out.
Noah was sitting on a couch placed in the middle of the room. The room was surrounded by mirrored walls to allow viewing of the dress's fit. I looked at my reflection, and the dress hugged me perfectly, as if it had been specifically made for me. No additional fitting is needed. I thought.
My footsteps caught his attention, and he looked up from the magazine in his hands. His eyes were unreadable, making me nervous for some unknown reason.
"How is the dress?" I tried to break the tension in the room, but his silent observation made me flustered.
I couldn't bear the intensity of his eyes and tried to walk back to change.
"Wait," he suddenly spoke.
He stood up and walked towards me with steady steps, making my heartbeat race. He walked past me and turned, positioning himself behind me.
I looked into the mirror and saw him taking a small box from his pocket. Curious, I look at the box carefully before, a beautiful heart-shaped diamond with a thin white gold chain came into my view. The diamond was huge, quite contrasting with the fragile chain holding its weight. The light shade of purple giving the illusion of pink, but blue undertone was evident, making it beautiful.
Without any word, he brought the chain around my neck and it's cold touch my warm skin.
"Beautiful," he spoke, and his warm breath tickled my neck.
" This?" I touch this simple yet extremely gorgeous peice of art work. " A small gift for my beautiful wife." His words made me stunned.
I was still in a daze until we got into the car.
"So, how come you came early?" I spoke as the car suddenly started moving.
"We wrapped up early since Mrs. Anderson asked me to be home earlier. How could I not follow her words?" he replied, and I stared at him in surprise and embarrassment. Mrs Anderson, this enderm is too much for my poor heart.
I secretly looked towards the driver and saw him stifling his laughter.
Noah Anderson, I mentally screamed his name.
"Why is your face turning red? Are you alright?" Noah suddenly asked as he put his hand on my head to check if I had a fever.
His attention made me burn even more.
"I, I, I'm alright. It's just the heated weather caught me," I stuttered as I pushed his hand away from my face in a fit of anger.
"The temperature has indeed gone high these past few days. You should keep yourself hydrated, Mrs. Anderson," the driver chimed in, giving me a way out.
"I will ask someone at home to take care of you and keep your diet hydrated," Noah spoke in a serious tone.
"No, you don't need to do that," I hurriedly spoke. "I will take care of myself. I don't want to trouble anyone."
"Alright," he said, but my instincts told me otherwise.
Well, this is the last thing I needed to think about. The familiar road came into view, and soon we both walked inside the mansion together.
"Does Grandpa know you're back?" Walking towards the main door, I suddenly asked.
"No, it's a surprise for both of you," he said, putting his hand around my waist as if it was the most natural thing to do.
I stiffened a bit but soon relaxed myself.
"It's just Noah, Lyla," I repeatedly told myself as I tried to calm my racing heart.
