Chapter 1 - Death Right After Transmigration

Empire of Azure Cloud.

Southern Province, Green Silk City.

In the backyard of the Tang Clan, a small crowd was gathered around three individuals. A middle-aged man with a long moustache and tall figure, held a young scrawny man and laughed.

"Young Master San, you will become a true man once you kill him," Peng Ho laughed and said. "He's just a slave and it's his honour to be in your service."

Another young man who was wearing luxurious blue robes looked at them, his hand shaking as he tried his best to not drop the sword.

Hearing Peng Ho's words, his eyes lit up as he thought, 'Yes, it's all for me to become a Man. That slave should be glad to be used for this ritual.'

Determined, he gripped the sword's hilt tightly and rushed forward, shouting, "Aghh!"

The young slave, who was unconscious after a thorough beating, seemed to have heard his shout as his eyes fluttered open. The first thing he saw was a razor sharp blade coming at him.

He didn't have any time to react, as the blade was inches away from his chest. In a desperate attempt and acting upon his instincts, he shifted slightly, though he couldn't escape due to Peng Ho holding him.

The blade tore through his flesh like a butter as blood splattered everywhere. It dug deep into his chest, as he coughed up blood.

"I-I did it, I'm a man, haha," Tang San looked at his hand which had killed the Slave and laughed loudly.

Peng Ho threw the slave aside and joined in celebration of Tang San. After all, it was his idea to use the slave as a practice target. Tang San had been bothering him for some time on becoming a man so he used this to trick him.

'Whatever. As long as he think he's a man now, he can do great things,' Peng Ho thought as he lifted up Tang San on his shoulders and danced with others.

Everyone was celebrating because Tang San, the young of Tang clan, one of the three Major clans of Green Silk City had become a man.

In all of this, the young slave was forgotten and left to bleed to death on the sides. Due to his sudden shift, the blade had not pierced his heart. However, due to his constitution, it was still more than enough to kill him.

As he lay on the stone pathway, he looked at the sky and thought, 'Am I going to die just like that? Again?'

He had faced death just a few moments ago and transmigrated in the slave's body. Unfortunately, he was killed before he could even use his second chance to live properly.

[Reward - Great Dao Scripture]

For a moment, hope arose in his heart as felt a warm current washing over his body and he saw the hologram before him. Then, the information about his reward was sent to his mind.

However, as he went through the information, his hopes died down as he thought, 'What a powerful scripture. But what of it? I'm dying here.'

He wanted to survive, but his bleeding body said otherwise. Slowly, his consciousness began to slip away as he caught the glimpse of death once again.

...

Heavenly Seven Lotus Peak, Mirror Lake.

A grand and majestic palace stood in the middle of lake, surrounded by mist as if it was floating on it. Beautiful birds flew soared above it, as they sang a melodious song.

Sitting near a waterfall, Yue Ling was drinking tea. She was a slender yet athletically fit and well-endowed woman of average height. She had dark skin, golden irises, and black hair. Her hair were waist-length and kept in a ponytail with chin-length bangs framing the sides of her face.

All of a sudden, her eyes snapped open as she turned to her left. Without thinking twice, she put her tea cup on the table and vanished, leaving the magnificent palace silent and empty.

A while later, she appeared above the Green Silk City and looked down. Her gaze piercing through everything and landing directly in the backyard of the Tang Clan.

Her lips curled up as she muttered, "Interesting. So such a backward place can produce people like him."

She dived down towards the Tang Manor while chuckling to herself, "I can't let such a talent die so early and my search can also be over if he manages to shine. Boy, I hope you are the one..."

Her Cultivation was too high for others to notice her, so she easily picked up the young slave and disappeared from the Green Silk City.

In the next moment, she appeared above a towering mountain and settled down on it's peak. As she looked down at the young man, she frowned and thought, 'I was late.'

The young man had already crossed the gate of life and death, and even if she gave the most powerful Healing Pill she had, he wouldn't survive.

She hesitated for a moment before sighing, as determination flashed into her eyes, "Whatever! If I'm going to take this gamble then I'm going all in."

Then, she put his body down on the ground and bit her thumb, making it bleed with golden blood. She then proceeded to carve a Rune with her blood on the young man's chest.

His red blood blood got mixed with her golden blood and made the Rune glow. It got brighter by every second, as vitality returned to his body, making his breathing steady and normal.

Yue Ling clutched her head, and smiled, "Let's see what you can do, boy. If you waste my Ancestral Blood Bond, I would skin you alive."

She tried to control the backlash but it was still a little too much. Sighing, she crouched down as a golden glow covered her body before transforming her into a small, black cat.

As she had exhausted herself in saving him, she dozed off and slept in her cat form.
