Chapter 2 - When Worlds Collide

The lady fixed her blonde hair that reached to her waist, tying it into braids as she hummed with a grin on her face. She couldn't contain her excitement. Her life had finally and truly started!

She raised her hand to her chest and greeted herself while she walked in front of the man.

"Welcome! I am Helen! The heroine of this story!"

Helen pointed her finger towards Simon who was trying to already scurry away to grab all of his treasures.

"And you there shall be my vassal!"

A smug grin formed on her face. There was no way someone could say no to a beautiful lady who came in from the heavens to make her yours.

"Hmm, let me think about that, how about no." Simon turned away from the lady, who was clearly crazy.

His head was whizzing with confusion. Isekaid? Vassal? Yeah, he did not have any of it today. Simon just wanted to make some money and get out.

He finally got ahold of the final watch that spilled out and carefully inspected it to see if there were any cracks or imperfections on it.

Simon sighed in relief when he found nothing, but then his heart sank as he heard another familiar voice.

"Wait one damned second! That's the watch I nabbed! Where'd you get that?"

The group of thugs from before stared straight at him. For a few seconds, there was only an awkward tension in the air that began to build up with the hairs on Simon's neck standing up straight.

Helen, however, stood between him and the goons. "Back away, random thug number 1! Or you shall fall victim to the first isekai trope! The heroine beating up the bad guys!"

All of the thugs looked at each other; their faces contorted in sheer confusion towards what appeared to be a deranged lady.

"Alright birdy, looks like you need to be put to sleep." They took out their knives, but Helen just laughed manically, which caused Simon to scurry even further away from her in fear.

"Hahahaha thank you for taking that bait! Now then, there shall be no moral repercussions when I do this!"

She raised her hand, and out from her palm came forth a massive blast of light that sent all of the thugs flying back a few streets and breaking at least three or four walls.

"Mwahahahaha, foolish mortals. Now then… where were we-" Helen turned around only to find that Simon had managed to escape her grasp.

"Really now? Hmmm, perhaps I should try another way…" She began to float up into the air, flying to find out where that Magician was.

After a while of looking over the city at night, her enhanced vision allowed her to spot a man running through the alleyways, ducking and weaving through all the obstacles.

Simon sighed in relief, sitting down by a wall before slumping over as he clutched his head and shook it. What a night that was, but at least he got away from it all.

"DO NOT BE AFRAID!"

Suddenly, Helen appeared once more, glowing like a lightbulb in front of the poor man who was very much close to being afraid.

He took out a pistol from his pocket and was about to aim it before Helen swatted it away with a mere hand wave.

"Do not think that would work on me. And I said, do not be afraid. SIMON MAGUS."

At those words, Simon finally felt fear strike him down, his whole body shivering as his eyes widened. There could be no way she actually said that… but no, she did, right in front of him no less.

"H-How? How do… how do you know that Name?"

No one should know it. Everyone who did was dead or gone. There was no one in the world who could know it except himself. He made sure of it.

No family left, no friends around. Every time he talked he made sure that he had a fake name ready in place.

He even had a list of them and which group and types of people knew those names and which disguises came along with them!

There was no way someone, anyone should know. It could not be possible unless someone with explicitly high tier kinds of Magick tried to find him, but that made no sense, he was just some random criminal in the face of it all.

"Finally, will you listen?" She placed her hands on her hips and gave a smug grin.

With a deep breath, Simon finally conceded. If he wanted to find out anything about this situation, he was going to have to figure out who this lady is and what she was talking about.

"Yes… fine, say your piece, but first you have to tell me. How exactly did you find that Name? Who told you? How did they tell you? Why did they tell you? Where did they tell you?"

Helen laughed at that suggestion. She floated down to the ground as her hait turned from blonde to black, and her majestic aura faded away.

"That's easy. A goddess told me!"
