Chapter 74: Extraordinary
Love her?
Was this some kind of joke? Liang Xiaoluo found it impossible to believe.
Ye Tianlin said nothing, glaring at her with visible frustration.
This damned woman—was she really so dismissive of his love for her?
Seeing his silence, Liang Xiaoluo waved her hand dismissively. "Forget it. There's no point in discussing this with you. After all, I was just a toy you paid for. If that's what I am, then there's no need to waste time on meaningless conversations."
She didn't want to engage further with a tyrant like Ye Tianlin. Continuing to do so felt like an insult to her intelligence.
Before she could step away, Ye Tianlin yanked her back, his fiery gaze fixed on her.
"Will you ever stop?" she snapped, growing impatient.
How long was he planning to drag this out? Did being a tyrant give him the right to do whatever he wanted?
With a surge of anger, Ye Tianlin grabbed her shoulders and leaned in to kiss her forcefully.
The intensity of his kiss left Liang Xiaoluo breathless, her hands instinctively pushing against his chest.
Was he out of his mind?
This kiss was unlike any before—more forceful, more consuming.
When she managed to find a small gap to catch her breath, she muttered her protest.
But her resistance only seemed to provoke Ye Tianlin further, fueling his insecurities and feeding his obsession with Nan Shaojie.
He finally pulled back, his dark eyes glaring at her as he growled, "Liang Xiaoluo, are you rejecting me because you're still holding onto some shred of loyalty to Nan Shaojie? Hm?"
Exasperated and on the brink of collapse, Liang Xiaoluo yelled back, "Ye Tianlin, what do you want from me? Does this childish behavior amuse you? I've already given you my body—what loyalty could I possibly have left to hold onto?"
She paused, taking a deep breath before continuing. "If admitting to all your accusations will give you peace, fine. I admit it! I still think about Shaojie. I still love him. Does that satisfy you?"
Enough. She'd had enough.
Her fiery retort left them both glaring at each other, her chest heaving with frustration and his face contorted with rage. The words she had just hurled at him were lies—words he had forced her to say, words she didn't mean.
His dark eyes burned with unbridled anger. Unable to contain himself, Ye Tianlin raised his fist, his fury driving him to the edge.
When Liang Xiaoluo saw his fist flying toward her, she instinctively closed her eyes, bracing herself for the impact. But the expected blow never came. Instead, she heard the sharp thud of his fist slamming into the wall beside her.
Her heart skipped a beat as she slowly opened her eyes to find Ye Tianlin still glaring at her, his chest heaving with raw emotion.
"You… you…" she stammered, struggling to find her voice.
"Do you still love Nan Shaojie?"
This was the question he couldn't let go of, the only answer he craved. The thought of her loving another man made him feel like he was losing his mind.
"Answer me! Do you still love Nan Shaojie?" His voice was desperate as he shook her shoulders, his wounded pride demanding reassurance.
Liang Xiaoluo, growing dizzy from his shaking, noticed the blood dripping from his hand. Her breath caught in her throat.
"Your hand—you're bleeding," she blurted out.
But Ye Tianlin didn't seem to hear her. He continued shaking her, still fixated on his question.
Frustrated, she broke free from his grasp and grabbed his injured hand, examining the deep gash. "Ye Tianlin, stop this madness! Your hand is bleeding—you need to treat it now!"
It was obvious that he had injured himself punching the wall.
This man was a fool.
Dragging him along, Liang Xiaoluo tried to lead him to treat his wound, but he wrenched his hand away. Like a stubborn child, he repeated, "Liang Xiaoluo, just tell me. Do you still love him?"
Anger surged through her as she snapped, "Why do you have to push me like this? Can't I have at least one secret to myself?"
"No, you can't!" Ye Tianlin shot back with unyielding determination.
His obstinate attitude extinguished her brief spark of concern, leaving her heart cold and distant. She stared at him wordlessly, her lips pressed into a firm line.
At that moment, Gu Lingzi appeared, her jealousy and frustration barely hidden. Seeing Ye Tianlin and Liang Xiaoluo together only fueled her rage.
"Brother Tianlin!" Gu Lingzi's voice chimed as she hurried toward them.
Noticing the blood on his hand, she gasped dramatically. "Brother Tianlin! Your hand! How did you get hurt? We need to treat it immediately!"
Ignoring Liang Xiaoluo's presence entirely, Gu Lingzi grabbed Ye Tianlin's arm and began leading him downstairs to find the first aid kit.
To Liang Xiaoluo's surprise, Ye Tianlin didn't resist. He allowed Gu Lingzi's possessive behavior, accepting her attention as if it were nothing.
Liang Xiaoluo stood frozen, her heart sinking.
Just moments ago, he had declared his love for her. Now, he was allowing another woman to cling to him like she belonged there.
What a joke.
A bitter laugh escaped her lips. Only a fool like her would believe his empty words.
Sighing deeply, Liang Xiaoluo forced herself to regain composure, masking her hurt behind a calm facade.
By the time she descended the stairs, the commotion in the living room had grown louder.
Ye Lao, upon noticing Ye Tianlin's injury, was visibly distressed. "Tianlin, how could you be so careless? Look at your hand! It's bleeding so much. How did this happen? Tell me! Do you want to worry your grandfather to death?"
Seizing the opportunity, Gu Lingzi raised her voice, ensuring everyone could hear. "Grandfather, when I went upstairs, Brother Tianlin was already injured. Only Sister Xiaoluo was with him. I think she would know what happened."
All eyes turned to Liang Xiaoluo, making her feel trapped.
Ye Lao's expression darkened. "Xiaoluo, explain yourself. How could you let this happen? As his fiancée, it's your duty to take care of him! How could you allow him to get hurt?"
Liang Xiaoluo struggled to find words. How could she possibly explain that Ye Tianlin had injured his hand while nearly punching her in a fit of rage? No one would believe her.
She glanced at Ye Tianlin, silently begging him to speak up. But he avoided her gaze, offering no defense.
Her heart sank.
Even Ye Tianqing hesitated, unsure of how to help her without worsening the situation.
It was only Yan Ruoxi who stepped in, her voice calm yet firm. "Grandfather, you can't blame Xiaoluo for this. It could easily have been an accident. Scolding her like this isn't fair."
Gu Lingzi, unwilling to lose the upper hand, chimed in with feigned innocence, "Sister Ruoxi, that's hard to say. After all, Brother Tianlin was with Sister Xiaoluo, and even Brother Tianhao seems to have been injured. Shouldn't we question if Xiaoluo might have had something to do with all this?"
Liang Xiaoluo's eyes darted to Ye Tianhao, noticing the bruises on his face.
Had something happened between him and Ye Tianlin before she arrived?
Her mind buzzed with unanswered questions, while Gu Lingzi's words sowed seeds of suspicion among the family.
Ye Lao's initial fondness for Liang Xiaoluo began to wane. She seemed to bring chaos wherever she went.
In the corner, Hua Lin watched the scene unfold like a spectator enjoying a show. Although she disliked Gu Lingzi, she couldn't deny the girl's usefulness as a pawn for stirring trouble.
Yan Ruoxi, her patience finally thinning, turned to Gu Lingzi with a sharp tone. "Lingzi, you're young, but that doesn't give you the right to spread baseless accusations. It's unbecoming."
Unfazed, Gu Lingzi retorted with a sly smile, "How can you say that, Sister Ruoxi? Grandfather likes me, and so does Brother Tianlin."
Her words hung in the air, further fueling the tension.
