"Shu…" Fu Hua, on Shu's back, looked at the ruin before her, and said softly, "Maybe… we should leave?"
Shu took a deep breath, suppressing his disappointment. "Kiana, let's flip through this, see if we can find any medicine."
"Okay!" Kiana agreed and kicked a slab of cement larger than a person away.
Shu, barely lifting a piece of debris the size of a head: "…"
It's okay, it's okay. I still have Fu Hua on my back… Shu comforted himself and started concentrating on moving the debris.
Before long, Shu began to see scattered medicine hidden in the ruins.
Shu reached out, picked up a pill, wiped off the dust, brought it to his nose and took a sniff before his face turned grim.
He didn't recognize any of these medicine… The more he looked at them, the more they looked like his cold medicine?!
Shu tried to remember. He had the feeling that no matter what illness he had, the doctor always gave him those small, white, round hard pills.
Shu swallowed, and he could already taste that bitter flavor in his mouth.
"I can recognize them." While Shu was struggling, Fu Hua suddenly spoke, "This should be cold medicine, it also has some pain-relieving effect."
"Really?!" Shu was overjoyed and quickly picked up several of those pills, and then he picked up another kind of pill. "How about this?"
Fu Hua carefully identified the pills. As soon as he heard that they had anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects, Shu quickly picked up everything that he could find, and scooped them up with his clothes like they were treasure.
"This one is…"
"What are you guys doing?" Kiana's voice suddenly appeared by the side of the two, causing them to flinch. "Uh… why are you picking up those dirty medicine?"
"It's already this bad, why are you still complaining about being dirty?" Shu shook his head, grabbed a pill. "We've only picked this much after so long, it's good enough."
Kiana silently turned to the side, pointing behind her, "But, there are so many pills over there… They're all in bottles too, and there are anti-inflammatory medicines too."
Clatter
The pills in Shu's hand scattered onto the floor. Shu looked at the medicine cabinet Kiana was pointing at, his expression pained.
Damn it, how did I forget that clearing out ruins was like a blind box? Damn it… oh no, is it Kiana, the ultimate, invincible, and super adorable lucky star?!
Shu quickly suppressed his jealousy, and ran to the medicine cabinet with Fu Hua on his back.
When he opened it, it was as Kiana had said. There were a wide variety of medicines inside. Shu just randomly flipped through them and picked out a box of anti-inflammatory and analgesic medicine.
"Kiana, you are truly a blessing!" Shu held the medicine, checked the expiration date, and happily asked. "Fu Hua, since you can recognize the medicine, do you know how to treat them?"
"I do." Fu Hua nodded. Shu was ready to remove the ropes, but after fiddling around for a while, he turned towards Kiana, who was now proudly sticking her nose in the air, "I can't undo them, you do it."
"Hmph, you wouldn't be able to do it without me." Kiana wiped her nose and skillfully undid the knots, before helping Fu Hua down.
Fu Hua sat down on the ruins and slowly removed the bandage from her leg.
Shu felt a slight scent of blood when Fu Hua let out a small hiss. He frowned before relaxing his face.
Bad news, Fu Hua's leg injury was very severe. It was probably pierced by some sharp object. Good news, the wound is lucky enough to not be infected, inflamed, or festering.
Kiana and Shu found a relatively flat area and took all the medicine out of the cabinet, placing them in front of Fu Hua. They then guarded their surroundings so that Fu Hua could focus on treating her wounds.
It's good that the wound isn't getting worse. Shu didn't know if it was Kiana's luck or if the Honkai energy in the air killed the bacteria. Once Fu Hua was done, they could leave for the outside of the city.
Shu started thinking about the information he had gotten from Theresa.
Nagazora City was located on an island. They had to cross a bridge to go outside. No matter how twisted the roads were, all of them ultimately led to that bridge. The bridge was also close to their destination. This meant that they could wait for others after they crossed the bridge.
Or, be found by others there.
If Mei was alone, she might keep searching through the city, but she had Bronya with her. She would eventually head towards that safe place.
I hope those two are still together…
Shu suddenly remembered Otto, and shook his head in frustration, trying to get rid of the thought.
"I'm done." Fu Hua tightened the last of the bandages and, with Kiana's help, tried to stand up. "Walking won't be a problem, but running…"
"Kiana, if we meet any danger, you will carry Fu Hua." Shu stated his plan emotionlessly.
"Huh?"
"Huh?! Oh, okay, class monitor, please don't worry! I will protect you!" Kiana paused and then confidently patted her chest.
"Alright, then let's go." Shu jumped off the ruins and looked back at Fu Hua. "Don't push yourself. I still have the rope, if you are getting worse, I can still carry you."
"Really… you don't have to," Fu Hua said, feeling embarrassed. She could only avert her eyes and, with Kiana's help, left the ruins.
The three of them started down the road without any haste. Shu told the two of his thoughts. After thinking about it, they both agreed with Shu's suggestion.
They would first settle down at their destination, and then wait for Mei and the others at the bridge.
"I feel like I forgot something…" Shu frowned and searched all of his pockets, then started to worry.
"Uh… Did you forget to take the spare medicine?" Fu Hua said. Shu then pulled out a few boxes of medicine from his pocket.
"Then, did you forget to eat?" As expected, Kiana's expression fell, before she looked more dejected than Shu. "I also didn't eat… ah… Mei~"
Shu rolled his eyes, and then looked at a zombie that was standing at the side of the road.
Shu: "…"
Zombie: "…"
Kiana: "?!"
Fu Hua: "!!!"
"Run!!" Kiana made a decision and quickly picked up Fu Hua, slung her over her shoulders, and ran away.
Shu: "??? Wait! I haven't gotten in yet! Wait for me!!!"
