Commercial District, Sage's location.
Satoya was knocked to a wall, with his grip on his katana wavering, he slowly charged toward Sage who was unphased by anything that had occurred, with Ragnar in the background completely unconscious in the middle of the destroyed district. "To be completely honest, kid, I'm very disappointed." She sighed as she nudged him back slightly, but strong enough for Satoya to stumble back and collapse on the ground. Satoya's vision blurring even more with each second, and his grip on the katana finally giving up, and at the corner of his vision he saw a building thrown at them, with Sage looking at it with a disturbed expression before holding her hand out and incinerating the building, then saw Thorin, who was injured severely, still retaining his aura of lightning.
"Give up won't ya?" She said as Thorin lunged toward her attempting to land a punch but she simply waved her arm, deflecting it completely, then punching him in the face before throwing a dagger that resembled a feather at his chest. "Elite rank fraud." She muttered in discontent.
"Run you useless son of a-" Thorin attempted to say to Satoya but lost consciousness before finishing the sentence, but Satoya was incapable of moving, "Those 2 elite ranks, I assume they are on the weaker side, but…they were so easily overpowered.." Satoya thought, with the concept that this may be the end of him, but he was too exhausted to even do anything.
"I need to do something..I truly need to do something.." He mumbled to himself, but he felt a voice, a faint voice, ordering him to do something. Rius, the one who usually communicates through his mind, wasn't present, silent because he knows Satoya is most likely going to die. But this voice was a voice that sounded oppressive, not a more so divine voice of Rius, but a voice of sheer strength..
"Hold out your hand." The oppressive voice ordered, but Satoya was incapable of moving, even if he tried, his arm wavered, but he felt his whole arm pointing toward, and realised his arm was controlled, moving like it had a mind of its own, slowly holding his hand out toward Sage.
Sage turned around, and for a brief moment, she saw 3 magic circles behind one another in front of his hand, then she heard Satoya slowly chant, "Malefica A Deus"
"Boss?" She thought before she was blasted by a devastating, blasphemous blast that was a mix of grey and dark blue that completely pulverised everything in its general direction.
The blast was so powerful it was seen throughout the continent, and caused a slight earthquake in nearby continents as well, with a person inside a laboratory wearing a lab coat while holding a syringe containing an ominous red liquid grinning maliciously, "so that's the signal he told me about, mind as well get moving." The person in the lab coat spoke.
Satoya realised what had occurred and stared at his arm, which was miraculously healed completely, and he looked at his palm in pure confusion. "What the hell was that?" He thought. After around a minute of confusion, he saw Sage's blurred image dash to where he was, then felt his whole upper body being held up by the hair, with Sage staring him down while fidgeting a dagger.
"Hey kid..why the absolute hell do you remind me of that time?" She demanded as she pulled his hair even harder, with Satoya with his only recovered arm trying to reach for his katana, "That time? How the hell am I supposed to know?" Satoya said, but then he saw an insignia that he remembered from his high school history class.
"W-were you a member of his empire?" Satoya muttered in disbelief, then Sage slowly raised his head higher. "Of course." She said.
Before Satoya managed to reach his katana, Sage felt a piercing headache, then she saw herself in the past, roughly during the 6th disaster, or 3000 years ago, curled up against a wall admist a burning village, full of disfigured corpses, majority of them were burnt to charcoal, then a few had a couple stab wounds on their body.
All these corpses seemed to have been from seperate factions, kingdoms perhaps, some were even members of the VHC, the G.A.A. hasn't been established until 400 years later, after the fall of Takeru's Empire. The specific location nor country is unknown, but it appeared to be her hometown.
"Hey, are you alright?" A gentle voice called, with her looking up and seeing a young man, who looks to be around 18-19 years old, with short black hair with some streaks of purple on some strands of hair, dark purple eyes, wearing what appears to be a trenchcoat with some light plating on the sleeves, with a ominous sword sheathed in its scabbard that was placed on his hip. "Where are your parents?" He asked further, his expression was of geniune concern, then he kneeled beside her.
"My parents killed themselves an hour after I was born." She said in a sad tone, then went on by saying "My aunt had to raise me for 10 years but was murdered, so I had to raise myself." The black haired man looked around, obversing the destruction, "these people, and those flames, were they caused by you?" He asked politely.
"After I turned 17, strange flames started manifesting from me, then after that day I was getting hunted. These people tried to harm me, some were trying to convince me to join them, but for what? I don't want to be here anymore." She said before tears ran down her cheeks.
"You might have awakened your calibre.." He said as he patted her shoulder lightly, which caused her to weep even more, "what's a calibre?" She asked while she was wiping the tears off her face. "Calibres are powers awakened randomly, but not everyone has one, so be glad, you are one of the lucky few who has one." He assured, before several mercenaries approached them, Sage looked at them with a concerned expression, but the young man patted her head, then stood up.
The young man calmly walked toward the approaching mercenaries who were all heavily armed, then he asked them "I would ask you all to leave us alone." But the mercenaries all laughed loudly, then one of them attempted to decapitate him by swinging a sword at his neck, but before any of them realised it, the mercenaries all were sliced in half horizontally, with one of them surviving barely.
Sage noticed someone odd, there was a large tear behind the mercenaries, it was like ripping a piece of paper in half, the large tear behind the deceased mercenaries was completely black, a void. Then she saw the young man sheathing the ominous blade neatly into its scabbard, with him turning around and holding his hand out.
"Would you like to join us? There is no need to fear being hunted, we'll help you out." He offered as Sage looked at his hand, then after some hesitation, she took his hand. The young man helped her on her feet, then he said, "My name is Rhokaine Sargivali, what about yours?"
Sage once again paused, but slowly mustered enough confidence to introduce herself, "Sage Hasegawa." Rhokaine smiled lightly, "let me guide you to where my lord is." He said as they both started walking away.
Now at present time, what was around 30 seconds of her completely still looking off at the distance above Satoya's head, she let go, and muttered "damn it." Before she vanished in a flash of flame, leaving Satoya there, completely confused but relieved.
