Chapter 59 - The misguiding mother.

"STAY AWAY FROM ME!" A pleading old lady screamed as glasses of wine and champagne were thrown at Ludwig but went through a gate instead that reflected back at the old lady. "I treated you like a king, I treated you like a god, and this is how you repay me!" The old lady screamed while tears were running down her cheek.

Ludwig wasn't taking a step toward the old lady, but instead, looking at the ground with an expression of deep thought. Ludwig's vision blurred, this time, it was Ludwig when he was 3, and was the time where Abel, Ludwig's younger brother was born. His mother held the newborn Abel in her hands like it was a precious relic. She then told Ludwig to leave to let her recover, which Ludwig followed without question, and left. "Lorenna, do you think this is also a perfect child?" A man with glasses, smiled happily. "No potential." She muttered in disdain, "but Lorenna-" "Do not argue with me Balthasar!" She yelled, causing the man in glasses to sheepishly sit down in fear.

"This marriage wasn't a happy one, mother, being spoiled due to her being the daughter of Alwin Azure, Alwin the greatest Azure to have ever lived through the 30 generations of the Azure family. She was spoiled, Rotten, taking perfection without anything else, due to her growing up as a spoiled brat, she wanted to execute, no even kill Abel when he was just not even 5 minutes old, but thankfully, father suggested to spare him, spare him 14 years, he was suggesting that Abel might be a late bloomer..but he wasn't right."

"Abel never even had a calibre, an absolute failure, a child mocking the ever so great family, the complete opposite of…me.."

"Mother? Where are we going, and where's Abel? I was gonna ask Abel to come hang out with Elias and Julia." A younger Ludwig asked his mother politely, this time Ludwig was 11, Abel being 8. This was also a month after the death of Balthasar, Ludwig and Abel's father, husband of Lorenna - his mother.

"Oh, Ludwig, you know the time of the year, it is the time where you and the other kids can play on the top floor, don't worry my dear, we have guests coming so hang tight, oh and if you don't use your calibre today i'll award you with your favorite food tomorrow!" Lorenna smiled at him, before taking Ludwig to the top floor, then left, 1 year ago was when Ludwig awakened his calibre.

"Shall we start the execution now, Madam?" A butler bowed, with her nodding yes. "Balthasar was more enduring than I thought, but that won't change the fact that I gave birth to a failure, and that gives me the assumption that Ludwig was merely luck, luck blessed by the gods themselves..but after Abel was born, I knew that fact, so I poisoned that "man" every supper, but not enough to kill him, but enough to make him suffer for the years after." Lorenna said in a cold tone, her eyes lingering with annoyance.

Lorenna, the other Azure relatives and a group of guests all walk into a theater, watching a stage. This stage was kept away in the basement of the manor, but there was an alarming amount of blood stains on the walls and floor of the stage, and in the center of it all, was a guillotine, the blade rested above in suspension was rusty, seemingly rusty from all the blood it had come in contacted with. Then an executioner in a disfigured mask was seen dragging a boy, Abel, whose hands were tied together along with being gagged by a branch, struggling to get out, struggling for freedom.

"Lorenna, he looks pitiful, why didn't you kill him earlier." A relative who appeared to be Lorenna's brother, spoke in disgust, before taking a sip from a champagne glass. "That Balthasar." She answered in discontent. The man in the disfigured mask then forcefully placed Abel underneath the guillotine, then bowed toward Lorenna and the guests.

"Shall I get started." The executioner asked in a dignified accent. Lorenna nodded in approval, so the executioner switched a lever, with the rusty blade falling onto Abel's neck.

Without any warning, a gate opened with a small hooded figure dashing through and destroying the guillotine with a small sword, Abel being knocked to the group, still incapacitated. Everyone watched the scene unfold with Lorenna quickly shouting out "kill the runt!" And the executioner took out a halberd, and swung it down onto the hooded figure, but the hooded figure, in an elegant manner, deflected the blow, then slashed the neck of the executioner, killing him.

Due to the agility of the attack, the hooded figure's hood fell back, revealing it to be Ludwig, with blood on his face, looking at his mother, his relatives, and unknown guests in an expression of pure trauma.

"Mother…you..liar..why…" Ludwig spoke, his voice of absolute betrayal, his relatives looked at Lorenna with more disgust than them looking at Abel's poor condition. "Lorenna, why is Ludwig here!?" A relative scolded, with other guests looking at Lorenna and then at Ludwig, their expression of sheer shock.

Lorenna then clenched her fist, she clenched her fist so hard it even bled, then she pointed at Ludwig, before screaming in the most haunting voice he has ever heard, "GET OUT NOW! TAKE THAT THING AND LEAVE GO TO YOUR ROOM." She scolded hauntingly at Ludwig. Ludwig ran to Abel and used the small sword to free him, then ran out of the theater while carrying Abel.

"After that day, mother would abuse me, abuse me worse than ever before, but she would also abuse, no, not even abuse, assault Abel, torture him even..Then on that day, Elias saw my pitiful condition and decided to help me."

It was a stormy day, with Elias shielding Ludwig and Abel from the rain, he then quietly opened the front gate, and pushed them out. "Go! Go as far as you can! Don't worry about me, I'll be fine!" Elias pleaded as he closed the gate.

"Abel and I ran as far as we physically can, I would've been able to open a gate to a different country, or even a different capital, but I need to be in that exact place, or see a real life image of that specific spot for me to properly open a gate to..And mother - no Lorenna would forbid any image or even artwork of anywhere outside the manor proximity.."

"There was also an alarm, anytime an Azure family member leaves the manor proximity, they would pursue them to get them back, that was how Julia died, he wanted to see the outside world."

"THEY ESCAPED!" A butler sounded, but then Lorenna silenced the butler. "Let them, I already hired mercenaries to hunt them down..and bring them back here." She said as she looked at the dark clouds of the sky.
