Synopsis
It was Satoya Kamiyama’s 17th birthday, and he was happily celebrating with his close friends during what seemed like a peaceful vacation. But everything changed in an instant when the city they were in was destroyed in the blink of an eye. As Satoya watched the destruction unfold—his friends filled with fear—he felt an unexplainable drive. This wasn’t just a normal disaster; it was a supernatural catastrophe, with strange beasts rampaging through everything. But amidst the chaos, something stirred within Satoya. Humanity had survived countless disasters before, but could this be the one where survival alone wasn’t enough? In that moment, it clicked: his instincts led him toward an impossible goal—was it possible for there to be a solace where everyone could simply thrive? It wasn't as easy as he thought, with even bigger historical threats reoccurring in modern times. Can Satoya and his close friends defeat them all or does he need the help of allies? “I’m confident enough to know Satoya’s journey will prevail, but in truth, what can I say?” - The scribe of the ancient crucibles This novel features short chapters (occasional longer ones). The beginning of the novel (first 50~ chapters) is rough, but I will in fact fix the pacing and details once I’m done with the novel. Thank you for your understanding, and I hope you enjoy this novel. This is the updated synopsis, the original synopsis was severely outdated and no longer reflected the story’s direction. I’d like to deeply apologize for any confusion. Note - some later chapters would get quite gruesome.

Chapter 1 - A joyful celebration of a certain someone

Multiple people inside a high floor in a city were having fun, they all seemed to be surrounding a single teenager, who had black hair, black eyes and wore a white t-shirt. He had a slice of cake with a single lit candle in front of him. He then looked around, before getting placed in a choke hold by a very well built teenager, who had dark brown hair, and wore a brown jacket with shorts.

The dark brown haired teenager then started messing with his hair. "Dude stop it, I can't breathe!" The teenager in the black hair and black eyes pleaded. Then a girl with long black hair, as well as wearing a black hoodie, and sweatpants started pleading.

"Isaac, stop strangling him!"

Isaac then let go of the black haired teenager, before he erupted in laughter, "Satoya! You're finally 17!" He giggled before patting him on the back before getting a slice of cake from the counter behind them.

"Satoya, you don't seem too surprised about it being your birthday." A teenager in brown hair and glasses pointed out. "C'mon 4 more years and its legal drinking age." Another girl in short faintly blonde hair teased before turning toward the counter behind them, then frantically running. They then heard, "Hey, that's like half the cake!" Then a small argument ensued behind them.

"It's summer break, any plans?" The teenager with brown hair with glasses asked while he glanced over at the counter with a raised eyebrow. "No plans sadly."

"Edward! How big of a slice do you want?" They heard before Edward, the teenager with brown hair and glasses replied back, "I'm lactose intolerant Rayna, just give me a small slice!"

"Is Johnathan running late?" Satoya contemplated, his gaze intensified at the lit candle, the smoke lingering up into the air, then he felt a hand on his shoulder. "I think Johnathan slept in at the nearby hotel, wanna wake him up?" The girl in long black hair suggested with a smug grin.

"Sakonori, do you even know the room he is in?" Satoya asked, before she fell into a deep silence, as if he was right.

"Oh! A new restaurant is opening, and it looks very promising!" Rayna said as she was looking at her phone, with Isaac eating a slice of cake with his bare hands. "I mean, I have no plans, so why not?" Satoya shrugged, before blowing the candle. He then stood up with the slice of cake then handed it to Isaac who happily ate the slice in one bite.

The group then left the room they were celebrating in, then took the elevator. Inside the elevator, they were all talking about future plans, after a couple seconds, they walked into a lobby. A receptionist was casually typing on the computer over the counter while a tired looking family was patiently waiting.

"Gee, forgot how hot it was in the 1st capital." Sakonori sighed, then felt the gaze of everyone in the group, just glaring at her. "I wonder why..." Satoya scoffed, before the group started laughing.

Amidst the laughter, Satoya felt a large aching, almost squeezing sensation in his head, his ears were loudly ringing as if his eardrums ruptured. An unfamiliar voice called out to him.

"Satoya Kamiyama."
