Chereads / Being A Navy SEAL / Chapter 37 - 37

Chapter 37 - 37

**"BIU~"**

A light sound, a lifeless body.

Brock's aim was flawless. The bullet drilled precisely into the back of the guard's head.

The combination of subsonic ammunition and a military-grade suppressor produced a noise quieter than a typical cough. The projectile's reduced penetration ensured that it wouldn't exit the body, but instead struck nearby objects, creating a secondary impact sound.

If everyone inside the building had already fallen asleep, it would be impossible for them to notice the sound of a gunshot.

The "lookout" had already been neutralized, and Team B pushed forward.

Reaching the fallen soldier, Brock efficiently delivered a finishing shot and then crouched down to remove the guard's AK magazine, unloading the rounds.

This was a basic procedure for CQB (Close Quarters Battle) operations, ensuring that no enemy could immediately pick up the weapon and fire again.

While Brock was unloading the magazine, the rest of the team didn't remain idle. Each member carried out their assigned task.

Long Zhan unfolded the collapsible ladder he had brought and extended it towards a second-floor window, guided by a laser pointer.

Here, the laser's role became crucial, as it allowed them to pinpoint the most suitable entry point for an assault.

Jason dragged the body blocking the doorway to the corner of a nearby shadow, clearing the entrance for Team Two to quickly move in.

The guard had been sleeping near the back door, and the wooden door had been left slightly ajar.

This saved them the trouble of having to force it open.

"Move!"

Jason signaled for Team Two to proceed, indicating they were clear to breach.

Clay, the point man for Team Two, entered first, carrying a 10.5-inch barrel HK416D assault rifle in a standard combat stance.

The short barrel offered greater maneuverability in the cramped indoor space.

Trent followed closely behind, moving into the building in a single file.

Sonny, the last in line, took the leash from Brock and led the military dog, Hellfire, into the first floor.

This had been a pre-arranged plan.

Although Hellfire, the specially trained military dog, knew how to climb stairs, accessing the second floor wasn't a difficult task.

However, for a professional bomb-sniffing dog, searching for a single hostage was a far too limited task.

The terrorist they were after, Samir, was an expert in crafting improvised explosives. Every martyr sent on a suicide mission with bombs strapped to them had been provided by Samir's own hands.

Someone like him, who constantly worked with explosives, would inevitably carry some of his trade wherever he went.

The bomb-sniffing dog was a perfect fit for the task.

Bringing the dog to the first floor to search increased the chances of detecting explosive materials and possibly locating the entrance to an underground tunnel.

With Team Two starting their assault on the first floor, Long Zhan had already set up the ladder.

As part of the fire support team, Long Zhan moved to a side position to cover the alley, watching for any potential threats—essentially guarding Team One's rear.

With no concerns behind him, Brock took the lead, wielding an assault rifle.

He was the first to ascend the ladder, carefully peering through the open window to assess the situation inside before entering.

Seeing no one in the room, Brock safely made his way in, immediately drawing his sniper rifle and aiming toward the door.

He signaled through the window, indicating that the room was secure.

Jason, who had been keeping his gaze fixed on the window, received Brock's signal and climbed up the ladder.

Upon entering, Jason didn't use a hand signal for the outside, as Long Zhan, tasked with covering their rear, was watching the alley's exit and couldn't see the window's activity.

Instead, Jason pressed the left-side button on his PTT (Push-To-Talk) device twice.

The PTT typically had two to three quick-access buttons for different communication channels, allowing for rapid communication without needing to adjust settings manually.

As the team leader, Jason's PTT had three buttons.

The first was for contacting the operations center, the second was for internal team communication, and the left side was set to the internal group channel.

Pressing the button generated a brief noise, signaling communication.

Long Zhan, hearing the two beeps through his earpiece, understood it was a signal to proceed and moved into the second-floor room without hesitation.

He quickly stowed his gun on his back and climbed the ladder, securing it on his tactical backpack afterward.

Team One successfully infiltrated the second floor. Their next task was to sweep the entire area, ensuring they neutralized all potential threats and located the target hostages.

Although the room was secure, stepping outside the door into the unknown posed potential risks.

Suddenly, a sound broke the silence...

"Cha-cha."

Two gunshots rang out from below, disrupting the calm in the building.

Despite the suppressor's effect, making the sound no louder than a stick hitting the floor, it was still clearly audible from the second floor.

It was apparent that Team Two had encountered armed targets and, unable to silently neutralize them, had resorted to shooting.

In a typical civilian building, the sound of a gunshot wouldn't cause much of a stir, but this was a terrorist hideout, and the operatives were already aware of their presence.

Their alertness was incredibly high.

As an experienced special forces leader, Jason immediately recognized that these two gunshots marked the start of combat within the building.

Though there was no other sound at the moment, Jason knew that many enemies were likely hiding in corners, guns ready to be aimed at any B Team member who appeared in their sight.

The danger was already imminent.
