Chereads / Being A Navy SEAL / Chapter 38 - 38

Chapter 38 - 38

The average person would definitely worry about being ambushed by a trickster, but for members of a T1-level special forces unit, this is just another routine battle. They've encountered situations like this countless times before.

Jason and Brock had developed a near-telepathic understanding in their cooperation over time.

With his left hand maintaining a firing stance, Jason's right hand grabbed the door handle. Without saying a word, Brock immediately positioned himself by the door.

As Jason slowly opened the door, Brock quickly darted outside, aiming his weapon to the left, securing that side's line of sight.

They maintained complete control over the left side.

Although this was Dragon's first time working with Team B, during his two years with the lower-tier SEAL team, he had already completed dozens of indoor operations.

In a three-man coordinated mission...

Jason was responsible for pulling the door back to keep the exit clear. Brock's task was to rush out and secure the left side of the door. Dragon's mission was straightforward.

Following basic CQB (Close Quarters Battle) team tactics, Dragon quickly followed Brock and, almost simultaneously, secured the right side of the view.

With the hallway now controlled on both the left and right, any target that appeared would be immediately detected.

As the last team member to exit, Jason had more time to decide which direction to clear, now that the hallway had been secured.

Brock was covering the row of rooms, while the hallway to the right of Dragon led only to a staircase going down to the first floor.

Jason processed the information in his mind, already having a plan, and gave Brock a quick tap on the shoulder, signaling him to push forward.

Brock instantly advanced, pausing briefly as he passed the first room, still keeping a watchful eye ahead.

Then Jason tapped Dragon's shoulder, signaling him to move forward as well. He would temporarily take control of the staircase area Dragon had been guarding.

Dragon moved to the opposite side of the door where Brock had positioned himself, continuing to aim at the staircase.

He tapped the PTT twice to confirm he was in position.

Receiving the signal, Jason adjusted his weapon and moved straight to the door's center, preparing to clear the room.

The three of them moved in a smooth, synchronized manner—seemingly complicated, yet the entire process took less than three seconds.

Having perfected CQB tactics, they moved seamlessly, almost like they were gliding. They completed a quick and efficient positional exchange, like smoothly unwrapping a piece of candy.

Brock and Dragon controlled the hallway, leaving Jason to focus entirely on entering the room.

For someone like Jason, who had been doing this for over a decade, it was simpler than drinking water.

There are typically two modes for room entry.

One involves speed, using plastic explosives or breaching tools to quickly break down the door and rush in, catching the occupants off guard before they can react.

This is the most commonly used CQB method for clearing rooms.

However, it usually requires a team of at least four to execute smoothly. A solo attempt would be much riskier.

Given that Jason was working alone, he had to opt for a slower, safer method of clearing the room.

He moved to the left side of the door, pressing his body against the wall to avoid being hit by any armed individuals inside who might try to shoot through the door once it opened.

With his right hand gripping the weapon and his shoulder against the stock, his finger was on the trigger, ready to fire.

This was a standard single-handed stance.

His left hand was pressed against the door, applying pressure to slowly push it open.

"Creeeak—"

As the wooden door handle scraped, the door began to open slowly.

Since Jason was positioned on the side of the door, he could gradually catch a glimpse of the interior through the widening gap.

Even if there were people inside, trying to shoot through the door would pose no threat to Jason, Brock, or Dragon.

As the saying goes, "Slow has its benefits," and this was perfectly exemplified here.

By the time Jason had fully opened the door and could see the inside, there was no resistance from within.

It wasn't that the room was empty, but the armed person inside, having been startled awake, couldn't figure out where Jason was in the pitch-black room.

To avoid exposing his location, the smart choice was to play the waiting game, hiding behind the left wall cabinet and hoping to shoot once he could see Jason more clearly as he entered the room.

The armed man's plan was clever and seemed well thought out.

Too bad he hadn't read enough!

He didn't realize that there was a kind of night-vision goggles that would make him as visible as a glowing beacon in the dark.

He couldn't see Jason, but through Jason's night vision, the armed man stood out like a sore thumb.

Jason had the weapon drawn, ready for an attack.

Without hesitation, Jason raised his gun and fired two shots.

Just as Jason took down the armed man inside the room, a new threat emerged from the staircase.

An armed individual was rushing up from the first floor.

It seemed this person had thought the second floor was safe after being pressured by Team B's clearing operations.

Little did he know, the second floor was the domain of the "Grim Reaper."

"Thud~ Thud~ Thud~"

The Mk46 light machine gun fired, its rapid shots landing precisely on the advancing armed man.

The man was struck and died instantly, his body collapsing and tumbling down the stairs.

His body collided with the wooden steps, creating a loud thumping sound as it rolled all the way to the first floor.
