Chapter 9 - New Name...

The man touched the ground with his ice sword, following through the sword his ice energy was flowing on the ground. Spread in the form of a circle, a transpired wave of ice energy covered his surroundings. As the soldiers rushing toward him had covered their body with a layer of warm wind energy, they didn't notice the ice energy surrounding their feet.

With a sinister smile on his face, the man murmured, "Fools, walking into their death."

Soon about they were his iron sword distance away from him, he strikes his ice sword on the ground. The wave of ice energy immediately turned a thick layer of circular ice. All of the prison guards were no longer able to move an inch forward as their feet got stuck into it. The wind barrier on their upper body part helped them from falling down, now other than swinging their sword left right they could do anything.

After they were stuck in the ground, the man moved forward. With his iron sword he sliced off the head of the prison guard closer to him, and soon after killing him he moved toward the next one. All their fighting spirit vanished, "It's his fault." Pointing finger at their commander, one of the prison guards shouted from behind.

Following him, "Yes." "Yes." the rest of them also shouted. "Please, let us go, we were only following the order."

"I told him to return, but not, this foolish commander had to become a hero. Now along with himself, he put my life in danger too." Prison guard closing his distance toward Nyxon said in a low voice.

While the man was focused on enjoying the movement to clean up the rest of his comrades, he came closer to Nyxon. With his ice and iron, he continued killing them, his opponent's sword breaking down like a thin stick as his sword touched theirs. Without their swords, nothing to block or to fight back with, they easily came in direct contact with his ice sword and iron sword and died in their place without a way out.

As the man told Nyxon, within a minute he killed all of them. And soon the ice layer on the ground melted and their dead bodies fell down. "Tsk! Did the number of useless soldiers increase while I was in prison?" Forgetting he missed one, he turned toward Nyxon, he was shocked to see the last one from the group with his sword on Nyxon's neck standing beside him.

"What are you looking at?" Hiding his fear with a forced laugh he continued, "I'm not like those fools that would die easily, if you try to harm me." Moving his sword closer to Nyxon, he slightly sliced Nyxon's neck and as a drop of blood came out, he continued with confidence, "I will kill him before dying. If you want his life, you have to promise that you will let me go. Anyway, you won't lose anything just by letting me go, and I promise I won't tell anyone about what happened here."

While he was yapping Nyxon was getting flash of his painful memory from what he suffered not long ago. His breathing slowly increased but he felt his lungs were empty. 'Kill him, kill him, you only need to kill him to get rid of this suffocation. Kill..Kill..Kill.' Voices filled in his mind, stopping him from thinking anything other than to kill the person beside him.

As his impulse of killing grew, slowly an energy in the form of black wave started to come out of his right palm. In his mind Nyxon saw a way to kill him, he folded his right hand as if he was holding a dagger. His concentrated dark energy turned into a small black dagger.

In order to save Nyxon, the man can't think of any option other than agreeing with him. "Okay, I will let you go, leave the kid."

"Not, like that. First, turn around and throw both of your swords into the river."

Following his intrusion, he threw his swords into the river, his ice sword flowed

away in the river melting slowly while his iron sword sank down.

Seeing the man throwing the sword, he closed the sword grip from Nyxon's neck and at that same moment, before he could run away Nyxon swiftly turned, cutting the front part of his neck with black dagger made of his dark energy and he took a deep breath of relief.

Throwing his sword into the river as the man turned back, he saw Nyxon standing with his back toward him and couldn't see the person holding the sword on his neck.

"Are you okay?" Walking toward Nyxon he continued, "He left without hurting you, right?" He slowly closed the gap, seeing blood dripping from Nyxon's right hand, getting worried he ran to him.

Moment the vision in front of him became clear, "What the hell!!!" He was shocked to see the sight in front of him.

The person, who was holding a sword on Nyxon's neck, was on knees with his neck sliced open. "You…You killed him." With a stuttering voice the man continued, "How did you do that?"

Nyxon didn't reply to anything, his eyes were focused on the person he just killed. The most shocking thing for the man was not that kid in front of him killed someone, but it was the none to zero emotion on Nyxon's face that shocked him most.

After the man asked Nyxon several times, Nyxon looked at him and instead of replying to answers, saying "Why?" he looked at the man with his void eyes.

"What?"

"Why did you listen to him to save me? You could have easily killed him."

"Yes, but if I had let you die just like that, then what about my energy? That I sent inside your body to save you." The man continued, "And anyway, I would have chase him down. But now thanks to you, I didn't spend my time chasing him. But still, how did you kill him?"

"He was just too weak, his hand was so shaky that he couldn't even hold onto his sword properly and died by it."

Hearing the man look at the sword on the ground, there was a splash on top of it but there was little to no blood on the sword's edge. 'Did he really kill him with that sword? I didn't even turn my back for more than a second and he?'

Saying, "Mister." Nyxon brought the man's attention toward himself from the sword. "I don't know if I can repay you for saving my life, if you–" Stopping him in the middle, "I can think of a way in which you can repay me." With a smile on his face the man continued, "If you become my disciple then you won't have to think about doing anything to repay me."

Nyxon was already impressed witnessing the man fight with the group of ten people. But after getting betrayed by the one who was close to him since he was child, and his one and one family he could think off. He was afraid to happily accept the man's request but thinking if the man in front of him had not saved him he would have died in the first place.

While Nyxon was still thinking, the man said, "Is something wrong?"

"No, I'm more than happy to be your disciple." Bending down his knees, with a forceful smile on his face and touching the ground near the man's feet with both of his hands he continued, "I pay respect to the master."

"Hahaha… good, but you don't have to kneel." Holding Nyxon's shoulder, he lifted him up from the ground and said, "It's hard to believe I got a promising disciple just after escaping the prison."

"You were in prison!"

"Yes, but you can't back down now just because of that."

"No, I won't."

While taking them they washed the blood from their body and walked away from the forest.

"By the way I still didn't tell you, my name."

"Well, it doesn't matter, I will simply call you master."

"Still, just so you know, it's Egbert."
