Sebastian
I quickly exited her room, closing her door as I leaned on it laughing like a crazed person. That was the first time I'd ever felt like that, with anyone. And I've slept with plenty of women. She left me wanting more, she made me feel...
"Mate", Azazel purred in my mind. "What in the world are you going on about?" I questioned him as I pushed off the door, stroking my chin as I replayed the carriage events in my head. Oh, how her scrumptious body was caked in blood but still somehow had every curve accentuated.
"A mate is what you humans call... spouse." He hummed in my ear. "It's just a bit different. Unlike you humans who have the urge to cheat or move onto someone else, a mate is a soul bound that can be deadly if broken. It increases our abilities as well..." I paused in front of my door as I raised an eyebrow at him.
"Once she's marked by me, you'll get a better understanding of it." He grumbled as I entered my room.
"And when do you plan on doing that?" I pulled my trousers down as I headed towards the tub.
"There's a time and place; it's complicated for my kind. She first has to hit a heat, and by the smell of her... She's never had one." I turned the tub on, stepping into it as he continued, "It appears the being inhabiting her runs like me, except since I'm male I hit a rut while females only hit a heat."
"So, like breeding season for animals?" I picked up a bar of soap as I scrubbed myself down, hesitating at first because I didn't want to rub off that amazing smell Lilith left on me.
"Each clan, species and being is different, but yes, like that. If we want to know more about her, we need to read that book that's in your pocket." Azazel grumbled as I brought the soap up to my nails. I knew exactly why he was upset; I was too. But there'll be plenty of time for us to soak our hands back in her.
I quickly finished cleaning myself up, pulling myself out of the tub. I wrapped myself up in a towel and headed towards my wardrobe. I threw on a pair of black pants and a white button-up shirt. I stooped down, pulled the book out of my pocket and set it on the dresser. We'll read that later tonight. Right now we have to go and check on Lilith and see my parents off.
I exited my room and swiftly made my way down the stairs, turning and heading to Lilith's room. Sir Garrett was standing outside of it with a grim look on his face.
"Yes, what is it Sir Garrett, spit it out." I strode up to him. He turned to me, solemnly.
"The Spry's want to press charges sir." He averted his gaze from mine.
"Excuse me, charges for what? Is Marie really throwing a tantrum over her own dumb ass actions?" I went to go around Sir Garrett. He grabbed my arm.
"Charges for murdering their men..." He looked at me as realization hit me. I looked down at him as anger rushed to my face.
"Those men injected her with that new drug, they were planning on raping her or God knows worse. She defended herself." I hissed at him. He released me as he took a deep breath.
"Your family doesn't know about this yet. The Sprys promised to keep it on the down low till they return, so you have a good solid month to make this decision. They said they wanted her thrown out of the city; a report sent to her clan about her obscene behavior and her violent actions. But they'll consider dropping everything if you take Marie's hand in marriage."
There. It. Fucking. Was. That snobby, spoiled little bitch planned this and now is trying to force my god-damned hand. I pinched the bridge of my nose as I grumbled.
"I need to check on her, she's drugged out. So, for the sake of keeping her tonight, I will think about it." I went and opened her door slightly. I paused, turning to Sir Garrett, "You don't tell Lilith about this, I will when the time's right." I entered her room, closing the door behind me.
I turned to see Lilith still completely naked, lying face down on the bed. She was humming into her pillow as she sprawled out in the shape of a starfish. She weakly lifted her head as she grinned at me.
"I didn't drown! Victory!" She fist pumped the air, then smashed her face back into her pillow. Grumbling, and trying to restrain the urge to jump on her, I walked over to her.
"You're really... testing me right now." I mumbled out as I grabbed the corners of the blankets, trying to get her under them. She fought me, rolling off the bed and landing face first on the floor giggling. I reached down to get her; she rolled away from me.
"Lilith..." my eyes narrowed on her as she hopped up to her feet. The low sunset hit her curves, accentuating them, causing a moan to escape from my mouth. She tilted her head at me curiously before she strode up to me. She placed her hands on my chest as she pressed her chest into mine, gazing up at me with her lips parted.
"Sebastian..." She whispered as I found myself leaning towards her. Her lips were just within reach of mine before she abruptly pulled away, pushing away from me as she turned to head towards the window. I flung my head back in frustration as she plopped herself on the floor.
"Lilith, you really need to get into bed and sleep this off..." I walked behind her; she tilted her head back, looking up at me. Her stunning yellow eyes took a hold on mine. Azazel rumbled in my head, wanting to grab her. We both desperately wanted to make her ours. Tears started to form in the corner of her eyes.
"What is it little lamb," I took a seat next to her. She leaned her head on my shoulder. The words she spoke shattered my heart.
"I'm always... so alone Sebastian." She said in a choked whisper.
"Everyone sees me and turns the other way. They all just assume that I'm a weapon... I don't need human decency. My whole life, even by my own clan..." She turned, placing her forehead on my shoulder as she wept. "They threw me in a pit, Sebastian. Just because I questioned their ways. My own mother threw me in a pit, smiling, laughing while I spent weeks with no food, water and no way out. When I was finally allowed up..." She pulled her head back, her hands dragging down her tattoos. "They branded me to make sure everyone knew what I was."
"I'll kill them... I'll kill them all," Azazel hissed as my jaw clenched so tightly, I could have broken my own teeth. My nostrils flared as I remembered how my father asked her about those markings so nonchalantly. She pulled her legs into herself as she hid her face from me, her sobs muffled. I placed an arm around her, pulling her into me. For the first time I could feel and see the white jagged scars that littered her body. They blended in so well into her pale skin, it was nearly impossible to see.
She quickly dozed off, leaning her full body weight on me. I gently adjusted her so I could scoop her up. I carried her to the bed, pulling the sheets back and tucking her in. I caressed her face, dragging my thumb along her tear-stained cheek. I felt a pull to stay, a nagging that if I left, she'd be more broken when I got back.
"Rest up now, little lamb," I whispered in her ear as I tucked a piece of her hair. She groaned, pushing her face into my hand as I slowly pulled it away. I held my breath as I turned to head out of the room.
