"My Soul Power should be three times as strong as an average adult male now, right?"

Dawn thought with a look of puzzlement on his face. He really didn't understand how these stats compared to other human beings, as he didn't have enough data.

"Young master, it's time for you to change your clothes."

At this time, Fiona came from outside carrying a large white porcelain stone bowl in her hands.

Dressed in a white maid gown, she looked strikingly gorgeous, resembling an immortal fairy who had descended to the mortal world. Each of her actions was filled with high-class grace.

After hearing her words, Dawn turned to her. A smile immediately bloomed on Fiona's face; she looked somewhat proud of herself.

In the next moment, Dawn turned his gaze away from her and looked at the corner of the room, where a large bookcase was placed, one of the new additions to Dawn's room.

"This feeling again...?" As soon as his eyes landed on the corner, Dawn felt a light prickling sensation on the back of his neck as if someone had poked him with a sharp knife.

Once he turned his gaze away, the feeling disappeared as if it had never existed.

Dawn had been feeling this way since last night, to be more specific, ever since he got his new skill.

"Am I in danger?" Dawn muttered while lost in thought.

Fiona, who was changing his clothes, heard his words and thought he was urging her to change his clothes fast.

She smiled like a flower and said while pouting, "Just a minute, young master."

Dawn ignored her words and took a deep breath.

It appeared the strange presence that he had noticed earlier was hiding in that corner of his room.

He suddenly felt uncomfortable and frowned. If he was able to notice the assassin's presence, then how could his mother fail to notice?

"Or did she purposefully ignore the hidden assassin?"

Dawn's eyes flickered with strange light. He couldn't understand what his parents were thinking, but he felt a little disappointed in his heart.

How could any parent be so careless and put their son's life in danger? Dawn felt a strong sense of betrayal as if he had been suddenly been abondoned by everyone.

For him the warm mattress below his body suddenly turned worse then cold and damp floor of Nether Wraiths cave.

But then his thoughts returned to calmness, why was he even expecting anything good form them to begin with?

In his life, a man can't expect happiness from others.

Fiona also noticed Dawn's grumpy face and giggled slightly; she found Dawn's expression to be slightly funny.

"Woman, what is it now? Did I crack a joke or something?"

Dawn thought while rolling his eyes at her, but internally he was frowning.

"Could it be that she is also ignoring the assassin hiding in the corner?"

He guessed, it wouldn't be surprising if she noticed, given how his family was able to feed him a precious medicine like Soul Strengthening Elixir daily. Their status or strength wasn't weak by any means.

So following the logic, her strength shouldn't be weak either.

"But if she's strong, my Superhero Danger Sense skill should have reacted."

Thinking up to this point, Dawn concluded that although Fiona might be strong, she wasn't stronger than the hidden threat lurking in the corner.

In the corner, the air slightly rippled and a vague outline of a figure appeared.

"Kekek... who could have thought the youngest son of the Skylar family lord is an Abyss mark holder... hehe, I am sure Master would definitely want to change his plans."

"But I want to taste the blood of a young Skylar... master, forgive this loyal servant of yours... hehe."

However, soon the outline disappeared and the room returned to calm once more.

Time continued to pass, and in the blink of an eye, it was already midnight.

Dawn's room was completely empty, as Fiona had gone out in a hurry.

Her sudden departure made him frown slightly.

How could she leave him alone? Moreover, his mother hadn't visited him today.

Dawn's eyebrows scrunched up together in a tight frown. His heart turned heavy; Dawn could feel himself being entangled in a conspiracy that he couldn't avoid.

Suddenly he felt helpless and powerless at the same time.

...

In a large hall, the figure of Mother Skylar could be seen pacing around in the room with a tight frown on her face.

"This is the last time I am listening to you, my dear husband."

Mother Skylar muttered while looking out of the window with a look of solemnity in her eyes.

In the next moment, graceful footsteps resounded in the hall, followed by the appearance of Fiona dressed in a white gown.

Fiona stopped when she was some distance away from Mother Skylar and bowed.

"Madam, what can I do for you?" Fiona said in a respectful tone.

Mother Skylar looked at the bowing Fiona and sighed.

"Get up, my child," Mother Skylar gently said. The earlier solemnity completely disappeared from her eyes, replaced by a look of tenderness as if Fiona was her own child.

Fiona noticed this and felt deeply touched.

"Madam..." her voice was slightly shaky, but before she could finish her words, she was stopped by Mother Skylar.

"I know you are about to become a silver grade warrior any moment; that's why I have prepared a special gift for you." Mother Skylar smiled and said. Her words were genuine; she really cared about Fiona and wanted to personally groom her.

Her importance could be seen from the fact that only she was allowed to interact with and take care of Dawn. No other servants were allowed to even enter near Dawn's room vicinity, and the reason for such measures wasn't difficult to guess.

In the next moment, a person wearing a black face mask entered the room with a jade box in his hands.

Click! A soft but satisfying clicking sound resounded in the room.

"My heavens, a silver grade Soul Power Crystal!"

Fiona cried out in shock while intently looking at the glowing crystal in the jade box.

Mother Skylar looked at her reaction and smiled in satisfaction, gesturing Fiona to take the crystal.

"This is too precious, madam... I don't deserve it."

Fiona shook her head and cried out, however mother Skylar only shook her head while smiling gently.

...

Unaware of Fiona and his mother's interaction, Dawn looked at the empty ceiling with a clenched fist.

A gentle gust of wind caused the windows of the room to shake slightly.

Dawn's expression tensed. He looked towards the corner to see a cold light shooting toward him, straight at his face.
