Accessing the server was oddly simple, there were no firewalls, Authentication mechanisms, ACLs , IDS's , security patches and a two factor authentication process making everything easy for Ethan and as he continued to surf the server he understood why.
The data was not sorted into categories rather it was broken into fragments that were connected in a web like structure.
"THIS...IS BULLSH*T, HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DEAL WITH THIS"
The more Ethan surfed the server, was the more he understood it's simple yet densely complex structure, he now understood why it was so easy to access.
The server's structure resembled a vast, spherical spider web, with thousands of interconnected folders acting as nodes.
Each folder contained compressed files, and within these files lay more compressed files.
This pattern continued, forming chains that delved thousands of layers deep.
Upon analyzing the system, it became clear that these files were not fully isolated to the server itself.
Instead, they were part of a broader network.
The server operated as a client-variant system, relying on external nodes for core data and functionality.
The intricate connections between the folders and files hinted at a sophisticated algorithm.
This algorithm drove the interconnected architecture, creating a web of data that extended far beyond a single system.
Ethan looked at his netbook that was downloading the server's data and said:
"Damn it, the server doesn't have a defence because it is the defence."
While Ethan was busy with the servers, Rosalina was throwing hands with Mardon.
"WRRRRRYYYYYY!!!! WHY WHY WHY WHY THE HUMILIATION THE MOCKERY?"
Rosalina didn't listen to Mardon's cries. Instead, she landed hits that trapped him into a locked position, the hits consecutive, broke Mardon's ribs in the process.
Rosalina looked at Mardon with a grin and said:
"Zoom Punch barrage."
She began to dislocate her shoulders to lengthen her reach.
She then began to harness Hamon to dampen the subsequent pain, and this allowed her to land barrages of hits on Mardon with ease.
'This fighting style... SHE'S A SLAYER! NO, NO, NO, NO, THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING TO ME!'
Mardon felt fear gripping his dead heart as he looked at Rosalina.
Unlike vampire hunters, slayers kill vampires and zombies for sport.
For one to qualify as a slayer, their killing count of the creatures of the night needs to be in the hundreds.
Judging by Rosalina's age, Mardon understood that she's a prodigy who had been hunting from a young age.
"NO NO NO I REFUSE TO DIE WRRRRRYYYYYY!!! THIS IS MADNESS MADNESS MADNESS"
Mardon clenched his ass, gathering strength into his legs.
Despite the relentless hits, he forced himself to break free, leaping off the ground, creating a small crater with the push.
He shot toward the ceiling, claws sinking into the surface as he hung from it.
With a swift motion, he reached into his pocket, pulling out needles coated in a purple like liquid, and threw them toward Rosalina.
They hit the floor with a soft thud...but Rosalina wasn't there.
She had already vanished.
Mardon looked around until he spotted Rosalina.
She was approaching him while running on the wall and soon she entered a 5-meter range.
"I was being lenient and all you had to do was take the beating like a good boy, but you chose to run away.
No more mercy, PRISM ALCHEMY!"
Rosalina summoned her Stand, and as soon as it manifested, it cut off Mardon's arm, causing him to fall from the ceiling.
Rosalina too followed suit, and while they were suspended mid-air, she said:
"I want to show you why your actions of running away from me are useless and futile."
"MUDA!!!" Prism Alchemy roared as it landed a punch on Mardon's face.
It then continued its barrage, each punch landing with devastating force as it roared:
"MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA... MUDA!!!!"
The duo soon crashed into the ground, with Mardon beaten into a pulp.
He was so damaged that only his head and his broken, incomplete upper body remained intact.
Rosalina rose from the ground and took a battle stance as she heard footsteps approaching in a rush.
However, she relaxed upon realizing it was Ethan.
She looked at him with a gaze of concern and asked:
"Why are you running... Is there a problem?"
"Yeah... fun fact," Ethan said, his voice strained. "The other 'servers' in this place are actually rigged bombs meant to explode in 5 minutes if someone explores the server... we have 30 seconds left."
"I see give me a sec"
Rosalina used Prism Alchemy to cover Mardon's body in an elastic-like liquid substance, securing him in place.
She then picked up the wrapped up Mardon, and Ethan activated Gatekeeper, opening a door that allowed them to leave the server room.
....
"What the hell happened here?"
The duo appeared where they began and noticed the place was filled with bodies.
It was a mess that Ethan hadn't anticipate, a mess that happened after he forced the two guards to follow their intrusive thoughts.
"Rosalina, wait."
Ethan immediately ordered Ethereal Divergence to use GateKeeper.
He began to loot everything, including the gold and even some of the bodies on top of the boxes and after a few seconds, he was done.
"Let's go."
Ethereal Divergence then opened a door leading to Ethan's car.
BANG!
A bullet suddenly fired, entering through Ethan's back and exiting through his chest.
He turned around to see where the shot came from and noticed the man they had knocked out earlier was carrying an empty smoking gun.
Ethan felt his body go numb as the pain was surging through him.
But Rosalina quickly grabbed him and dragged him through the door while carrying Mardon with her other hand.
As they stepped through, they appeared near Ethan's car.
"Rosalina... blood loss, I'm losing a lot of blood."
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
The warehouse exploded, catching Rosalina off guard.
Without hesitation, she tossed Mardon's body into the boot and quickly placed Ethan in the passenger seat.
Ethan's blood continued to seep from the wound, staining the white cushions of the car seat. Rosalina knew he didn't have much time.
In a moment of emergency, she called upon Prism Alchemy.
Instead of just solidifying the liquid, she carefully manipulated the blood to form a dense, clot-like structure.
The solidified blood acted as an immediate barrier, stopping the flow while still allowing Ethan to breathe.
She focused on the wound, solidifying the blood around it, effectively sealing the entry and exit points.
This process was not permanent but would hold long enough to prevent further blood loss until they could get help.
She then quickly switched on the ignition of the car without wasting a second.
The engine roared to life, and she drove off from the warehouse, leaving the burning scene behind.
