~Mia~
The banging grew louder by the minute, then suddenly the door opened.
I felt the color drain from my face. I was frozen, petrified. Standing in front of me was a tall man dressed in all black , with broad shoulders and a grin that made my stomach churn with unease.
He grabbed me by the arm holding a gun in his hand . His grip was like iron, and I felt my chest tighten. My heart hammered, my mind racing for a way out. Then, without thinking, I moved.
'Punch'
My fist connected with his jaw before I even realized what I was doing. The man staggered back, his eyes wide with shock.
I stared at my hand, trembling. I was never the violent type. How could I throw a punch? I could barely lift a 12-pound dumbbell, and yet...
" I'm sorry" I muttured , then started running.
As I ran , searching for an escape route , But none . It seemed impossible.
There were no windows , no doors , NOTHING !!!
I stared considering Emma's words ' I shouldn't have come here !'
' why didn't I listen to her ?'
Gunshots shattered my thoughts. I froze for a moment, unable to move... then a sound in my head told me .' keep running , there's a door in front of you , press the button . And you'll be safe .'
I ran towards the door pressed the button .
The ground vanished beneath me, and I plummeted into darkness. The air was damp and smelled of rust, and a faint mechanical hum echoed through the narrow passage as I fell. The rush of air roared in my ears until I landed with a jarring thud on a metal chair.
Panic surged through me as the cold restraints tightened around my wrists and ankles, locking me in place. I struggled against them, but they didn't budge. The dim light of the passage was replaced by a bright, sterile glow that made me squint.
A voice crackled to life, distorted and mechanical, echoing through the emptiness.
"Welcome Mia , we've been expecting you ."
My heart pounded. The voice was unfamiliar, yet it carried an eerie sense of knowing.
"Who... who are you?" I stammered, my voice trembling as I tried to sound braver than I felt.
Then , a guy dressed in all black , showed up in front of me grinning widely. " Tell me Mia , what do you know about me ?"
I looked at him confused." Who are you ?" I asked my voice cracking.
"Think, Mia," he said, leaning closer. His grin widened, but his eyes were cold. " You know me . Just think ."
The room smelled of damp metal and something acrid, like burnt wires. The man's voice, low and mocking, felt as though it vibrated through the walls, wrapping around me like chains.
Who was this man? Why did he speak like I knew him? My mind raced, clawing for answers that weren't there. The grin on his face made my skin crawl, and for a split second, I wished I could disappear.
I tried to steady my breath, but my chest was tight, and my head was spinning. Who was he? Why was I here? My mind was a tangled mess of thoughts, each one more impossible than the last.
His eyes glittered with something dark, as if he could read my every thought. "I know you're scared," he said softly. "But you already know me, Mia. Don't pretend you don't."
I yanked my arms against the restraints, but they wouldn't give. The cold metal bit into my skin as if mocking my helplessness. There was no escape, no way out. But something nagged at me a sense that the answers were within my reach, if only I could put the pieces together.
