It was a cold winters evening. The two sisters were all alone in their apartment. The elder one, 20, was making tea in the kitchen and the younger, 18, sat in the living room, studying. The evening was going totally normal, a little boring though.
As the sisters enjoyed their tea and got busy on their phones. Little did they know that the darkness of night has started to creep in, slowly. They heard a knock on their door. The sisters looked at each other, giving each other a questioning look. Who could visit at this time?
'Did you order something?' the elder sister asked. The younger replied with a shook of her head. Then she got up and went to check who it was. But to her surprise there was no one. She came back and went to scroll on her phone again after telling her sister that no one was outside. After some time, they again heard a knock on their door. This time the elder went to check. But again, there was no one.
'It's a prank.' the younger stated. 'lets just ignore it' elder replies and plops down on the sofa in the living room. Though no one said a thing but tension starts to build in the room. To lighten the mood, they decide to order a pizza for dinner. A few minutes later they hear their doorbell ring. The younger goes outside and opens the door. The elder follows her few minutes later with some cash in her hand. The younger sister was standing against the door looking at the elder one with a pizza in her hand. 'Did u pay for it?' the elder one asks. 'yes' she replies. And walks in humming some song.
They start eating the pizza. 'The pizza tasted weird.' The younger one states. 'No it's fine' elder replies. 'Fine then you eat it by yourself.' the younger snaps and walks into her room, slamming the door.
Later that night, the elder sister wakes up when she hears something fall. She gets out of the bed and grabs her phone which was on the bedside. She walks outside of her room but there was nothing in the hallway. Everything was in place but the hallway was chilly as hell. She shivers. She walks further towards her younger sister. She knocks on her door but get no answer. Thinking that her sister might be asleep she walks to the kitchen. She's feeling uneasy for some reason. It felt like someone was watching her from the corner of the apartment but wherever she looks there is nothing but darkness. The dimly lit kitchen was also cold just like the hallway. She fills a glass of water and walks back to her room. As she lies on her bed she hears footsteps from outside. Like someone is running.
'Lyla?!' the footsteps suddenly stops. There was an eerie silence, she can hear her own heart beating. She gets up from her bed, turns on the lights of her room then opens the door to check who was running. The hallway was completely empty. ' I'm imagining things ' she thinks to herself and close the door of her room and locks it. She gets in her bed again. This time not turning off the lights. She stares at ceiling. She was scared. Several possibilities have run through her head but none of them were logical. She calls her sister too scared to her sister's room.
'Hello' the elder one says.
'have you heard that?' Lyla cries.
'there's someone else here in our house.' The elder sister whispers, too scared to say it loudly.
Knock. Knock.
'Someone knocked on my door .' Lyla cries.
'Mine too.' The elder sister replies .
Knock. Knock.
Knock. Knock.
The knocking continues and the knocks were getting aggressive and aggressive. Both of the sisters were crying, too scared to open the door.
'I'm going to call mom.' The elder says.
'No no don't cut the call. I'm scared.'
The call there mom on a conference call. Ring. Ring. Ring. She finally picks up.
'Hello' their mom answers in a sleepy voice.
'Mom' the younger one cries.
'Someone is in the house mom. It keeps on knocking on our door.' the elder says in a shaky voice.
'Listen, no matter what happens. Do not open the door. This will all be over once the sun rises.' their mom explains.
Knock. Knock. Knock. Knock.
'But mom. Who is it?'
'It's your brother.' The mom whispers.
'What?!!'
'I'll explain everything later. I'm begging you please do not open the door. '
Knock. Knock.
The knocking continues the rest of the night. The sisters never cut the call, awaiting the morning.
