Synopsis
Hi there, wish you all an amazing day. I'm writing this story for myself mainly, but for others as well. I want to inspire myself to strive for greatness, life's so short. So why be content with a normal life? I once wanted that, I just wanted to live small, you know, read stories and waste time, find some kind of job that paid decent and get married, but not anymore! I want to live, I want to feel things, I want to strive for higher goals, bigger and better ones. And I want others to strive for the same... It's not easy to do so, but that's why I'm writing this, to showcase just how hard striving for greatness truly is. If you haven't figured it out yet, this will be the story of Wei Sucha from being a mortal, to the strongest ever. Thanks for reading, don't forget to support the novel, and may God bless you all!

Chapter 1 - A walk

A black-haired young man exited a building with a smile on his face. He was holding a small bag in his hands, brown with some stitches on it's sides.

His aunt had made it for him, because she ran out of the needed materials, she had to stitch a few different things to finish it.

Wei Sucha didn't care about that, he was happy because today was his 16th birthday. What made it so special was the fact that he would be recognized as an adult by the city finally.

Which in terms meant that he could obtain the inheritance his father left for him.

He had long flowing black hair tied into a ponytail and wore a red daiost robe, it was a little rough around the edges, but this was the best he could afford at the moment.

Wei Sucha came from a somewhat poor family, it was even one of the reasons he smiled today. Technically, he would only turn 16 fully at night, but the city didn't care much about the timing, just the specific day an indivisule was born.

His father had left when he was still a baby, and his mother had died when she gave birth to him. He didn't know much about his parents, and he never really bothered to ask.

He always thought of his aunt and uncle as his real parents. His aunt was the little sister of his mother, and she had taken care of him ever since he was a baby.

She unfortunately couldn't give birth, but raising Wei Sucha still brought her immense joy, she felt like she had a son of her own, even if not blood related.

His uncle worked as a blacksmith, and his job barely got them enough for the week, it was only thanks to the money his father left them and the house he gave them that they could survive this long.

But today, Wei Sucha obtained the inheritance his father had left just for him. And it was something, to say the least.

Ten Bronze Coins were worth 1 Zaf, and 25 Zaf were worth one Silver, then ten Silver would get you one Gold Coin. Wei Sucha didn't know of anything higher than gold inside the City.

He had read many stories that mention Diamond and Cores and whatnot, but he had no idea if Diamond existed or not.

A family of three like theirs would need around 3 Silver Coins a month to survive, but his Uncle barely managed to get 2 Silver Coins and a few Zaf on top of it.

Yet, today, Wei Sucha found out that his father had left him over 40 Gold Coins. This was a hidden treasure. The assistant who gave him the money kept on eyeing the bag where Wei Sucha stored the gold away.

This did make the 16 year old feel a little afraid, there could be thieves going after him for all he knew. As such, he made sure to stay in public until he returned home.

Fortunately, the house his father had left them was situated in a protected area, very few house invasions ever happened there.

Aside from the money though, his father also left him a wrapped letter which he hadn't read just yet, and a red Token on which was carved a dragon.

Wei Sucha didn't understand what the token was for, when he inquired with the assistant in charge of handing him his possessions, the assistant said that he didn't know either.

Wei Sucha didn't know if the assistant truly didn't know or didn't care enough to tell him. After all, the assistant was at the peak of the Body Realm.

From the way he adressed Wei Sucha, it was obvious to the young man that he disliked him, a mere mortal taking a few minutes of his time.

Wei Sucha didn't even come from an esteemd family or anything, his aunt was a mortal just like him, and his Uncle had only reached the Second Level of the Body Realm.

The Body Realm was the First Rank of Cultivation in this world, everyone would start from there. It had three levels, only after reaching the Second Rank of Cultivation, would one truly become a Cultivator.

Most normal people like Wei Sucha would only start their journey of Cultivation at the age of adulthood, that being, 16 years old.

Only those fortunate enough to be born in a Cultivation family would get to train from before, at the age of ten or higher. Children younger than ten couldn't handle the training.

If they forced themselves to train it might even cripple them forever, or worse, kill them. Fortunately, the city had just employed a new rule, to reduce the cost of Cultivation schools to only 1 Zaf per week.

This was in the hope of raising new talents. Even if the nobles hated it, there were quite a few commoners who became pillars of entire countries with the right training.

If they could make the commoners feel indebted to them at the start, they could then reap the benefits once these commoners achieved great success in the future.

Wei Sucha wanted to try his chance with Cultivation, but at the same time, he wanted to help his Uncle with his blacksmithing job.

It was only because he helped out that they were able to make close to 2 Silver Coins per month. Wei Sucha then raised the stichted bag for a second and chuckled lightly.

'Well, I guess there is no need to do that anymore. In fact, Uncle could probably finally take a break for the next two so months, it has been years since he took any sort of break.'

Wei Sucha felt a little sadned by that fact, 'If it wasn't for him working every day nonstop, me and Aunt would not have been able to survive the last few years... It's all thanks to Uncle.'

He continued, 'Uncle hopes that I'm a genius Cultivator, and that I can become a pillar of the city in the future so that he can finally retire and live out the rest of his years in peace with aunt... But I... I don't know.'

'I'm not sure if I'm up to the task or not. In fact, I don't care that much about Cultivation, it's way too hard, I just wanna take the money I got from father and open up some sort of business.'

'Get a wife, and yeah, live out the rest of my life peacefully... If possible, I'd like to find out what happened to my parents, or more so... Where my father disappeared to, but that's it really.'

Wei Sucha sighed, 'I don't want to disappoint Uncle, I get it. He always says that mortals are treated unfairly because we're weak, but if we were to stay out of trouble, we can live normally.'

'I want a normal life, and if anything happens in the future... Well, I don't know. Tsk... I'll think about all of this later, for now, just let me feel happy I got all of this money!'

Wei Sucha nodded to himself with a smile when he felt the bag holding 40 Gold Coins in his hands again and continued on his way home.

He did his best not to bump into anyone or cause any trouble, and fortunately, he arrived home safely. He thought about what he should do for a moment.

'Should I knock? Or do I just enter and surprise Aunt with the money? I don't think anyone knows what type of inheritance my father left for me... Tsk, the city and it's rules prohibiting us from even knowing what things were left for us... Whatever, that's beside the point now.'

'So, what do I do?'
