Chapter 1 - I Reincarnated, Got It?

The first thing I noticed was the warmth.

I woke up to a soft feeling, the kind of warmth that makes you feel safe and comfortable. But there was something wrong. I wasn't sure why, but something felt off maybe? Like everything around me was new. I tried to move, but all I could do was move my tiny fingers.

Wait...

Tiny fingers?

I tried to focus, my mind still cloudy from the state I had woken up in. I looked down—if I could even call it that. And my arms. I could see my little arms, still not fully able to move. I had no control over them.

What the hell is this?

I tried again, and this time, I felt it. I could hear a soft murmur around me, like... voices, you get me? They were close, too close. And I could feel something else too. The air. The air was different, thick with something… magical? It had to be. I didn't know much, but I knew that the world around me wasn't quite like anything I was familiar with.

And then it hit me. You know what else hit me? That truck. Sorry, I just had to. Please laugh... Never mind, I'm being weird.

ANYWAYS! I was in a new world. A world full of magic. I had been reborn, I suppose. The memories of my previous life came back in fleeting flashes—Earth, a place I had once known.

But here? Here, things were different. At least that's what I thought. I had to be careful. I needed to learn about this world first.

But that could wait for a moment, because right now, I had bigger things to focus on.

I tried to open my eyes, and this time, I managed to do it, though everything was still blurry. The first thing I noticed was a light. A golden glow came down from above, which casted shadows. It didn't seem like the sunlight I was used to. There was something about it that was… Weird.

To keep it short, I met my new family. I don't really care if anything happens to them to be honest. They're only there to protect me until I grow up and move out.

Anyways, I'll tell about my family so please pay attention, or don't, I don't really care. First, my mom. She has the same colored hair and eyes as me. Dark midnight blue hair, and gray eyes. Second, my dad. He has black hair and light blue eyes. Third, my two sisters and one brother. My siblings have the same features as me, rather our parents.

My brother looks a lot like me so I'm pretty sure that'll cause a lot of confusion. Actually, maybe it won't. My brother is already ten years old, or so it looks like he is. And besides, he's muscular.

And so I was going to do what any person would do as a baby in this situation. Grow up, train, and learn.

I practiced my swings with a sword my parents gave me. Oh yeah, we're pretty broke. So... basically my old life on Earth. Not that it matters or anything...

Another thing I did was practice my magic control. Right now, I think I have mastered controlling my magic at just 7 years old. That's pretty impressive if you ask me.

A few years later, I found myself sitting in a classroom, staring at the front of the room. The teacher was giving some pretty stupid lecture about magic—something about forces of nature and how they influence the world.

To be honest, I didn't really pay much attention. Magic is cool and all, but I had already figured out that I could do most of what they were talking about without really trying.

Heh, normies. That's what they're called, right?

What was more important was how good I blended in. This was an academy, and I was here to make a name for myself, without standing out too much of course.

I was a "good student" in the sense that I showed up, paid attention (most of the time), and I did my work, but I wasn't the smartest one in the class.

I wasn't even that talented either, at least not in the traditional sense. Magic didn't really come easily to me, but I had a thing for learning things that mattered.

I began to understand more about the people around me too. Some of them were wealthy, others were ridiculously snobbish, and some were even ridiculously weak despite coming from prestigious families.

It was the usual stuff you'd expect from an academy full of young people with too much time and too much money on their hands. But I wasn't concerned with that. No, I was far more interested in how I could use this place, how I could make it work for me.

The teacher's voice continued in the background, and I let my mind wander. A sudden thought crossed my mind: What if... I can actually control all of this?

It wasn't an impossible thought. This world was full of magic, full of systems that could be exploited. I wasn't sure how just yet, but I would figure it out. I would learn everything I needed to know.

So basically, I have goals to make this magic world my stage.

But for now, I couldn't afford to be too obvious. I needed to keep my head down, follow the rules, and pretend to be a good little student. In this world, that was probably the safest route.

As I looked around, my eyes met with a girl sitting across from me. She looked away quickly, clearly embarrassed, and I couldn't help but wonder if I had done something wrong. Did I stare too long?

I didn't think much more of it, however. There were more important things to focus on. Magic, knowledge, power—I wanted it all.

No, I NEEDED it all.

As the lesson continued, I let my mind wander again. A lot of the students were focused on proving themselves, showing off their skills and talents, but me? I was focused on something else entirely. The world around me was a stage, and I wasn't just going to be a background character.

I had a lot of work ahead of me, but that was fine. I was Rei Aveline, and I had time. I wasn't in a hurry.

Actually, I am in a hurry.

I have to go to the bathroom.

So I went and did my business. On my way back to my class, I saw a guy surrounded by big buff dudes. Poor guy. Even though I don't know what he did, all I know is that he'll be coming home with bruises.

The guy getting bullied looked over at me and pointed.

"It wasn't me! It was that guy who told me your girlfriend was single!"

Hm, What's this? Someone mentioned me? What do I do?!

I sighed and looked over, posing for them.

"No."

I don't know why I thought that'd work, but it did. The big buff dudes simply nodded and began beating the hell out of that guy.

"HELP!!" I heard the guy scream out.

Yeah, sucks to be him. But I don't care, he tried bringing me into his problems. Also, it looks like no matter what... There will be bullies.
