Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: A Samurai's Return

Izanagi returned to Asphalt Academy after his suspension, feeling a mix of determination and anxiety. He had spent his suspension training with his grandfather and reflecting on his actions. He was ready to put the past behind him and move forward. As he walked through the school gates, he noticed the tense atmosphere. Whispers and pointed looks followed him everywhere. Confused, he made his way to the courtyard, where he overheard a group of students talking about Christian."Did you hear? Christian Kaiser is a murderer." one student said with a sneer.Izanagi's heart dropped. "Little Chris? He could never do something like that." he muttered to himself.Another student from the prestigious Johnson family, known for their influence and wealth, scoffed. "Oh, come on. It's all over the news. He's a monster. He should be dead."Izanagi's anger flared. "You're wrong. Christian would never do something like that. You don't know him."One of the Johnsons stepped forward, a smug look on his face. "Are you stupid? It's been confirmed by the authorities. He's a killer."The words stung, and before Izanagi could think, he insulted them back. "You idiots don't know anything! Christian is my friend, and he's not a murderer!"The Johnson boy's face twisted in anger, and he shoved Izanagi. "You better watch your mouth."Izanagi, unable to control his fury, grabbed his wooden kendo stick from his bag and swung it. The fight was quick and brutal. The wooden stick cracked against bones, and the group of students fell one by one under his relentless assault. It wasn't long before teachers intervened, pulling Izanagi away. He was dragged to the principal's office, where the decision was swift and unforgiving. He was expelled, his actions deemed too violent and disruptive for Asphalt Academy.Izanagi walked home in a daze, the weight of his actions and their consequences pressing heavily on his shoulders. When he arrived, his father, Taiyang Fuzaro, was waiting. Taiyang, a past military soldier and a lifetime martial artist, was a formidable presence despite his unassuming appearance with glasses."Izanagi." Taiyang said calmly, "come to the dojo."They entered the dojo, and Taiyang handed Izanagi a real sword. "We will spar." he said, his voice hard. "You have brought dishonor to our family. Sora and you are supposed to duel to see who inherits my dojo, but you continue to dishonor us."The sparring began, and Taiyang was relentless. His movements were precise and deadly, and Izanagi struggled to keep up. Taiyang's words cut as deeply as his sword. "You can wield a sword, but you cannot fight. You lack discipline and honor."With a swift movement, Taiyang disarmed Izanagi, sending his sword clattering to the floor. Taiyang's sword cut across Izanagi's face, leaving a scar, this one deep, a diagonal gash from his mouth to his cheek."You will never beat Sora without understanding the true way of the sword." Taiyang said coldly. "You have continued to dishonor our family by being expelled. Leave me."Izanagi fell to his knees, tears mixing with blood as they fell to the floor. Taiyang turned and left the dojo, leaving his son alone with his shame and pain.In the silence, Izanagi cried, the weight of his father's words crushing him. He felt lost, his sense of honor and purpose shattered. But as the tears subsided, a new resolve began to form. He needed to find his friend, Christian. He needed to prove Christian's innocence and regain his own honor.Wiping his tears away, Izanagi stood up, determination hardening his resolve. He would find Christian and uncover the truth. And in doing so, he would restore his honor and show his father that he was worthy of the family name.Izanagi packed a bag with essentials and his wooden kendo stick, the only weapon he felt comfortable carrying. As he stepped out of the dojo, he cast one last look at the place where he had spent countless hours training. He felt a mixture of sorrow and determination, knowing he might not return until he had achieved his goal.He set off into the night, his mind focused on finding Christian and proving his innocence. The journey ahead was uncertain, but Izanagi knew that he had to face it head-on. For his friend, for his honor, and for himself.
