It was time for the Ace Company Charity dinner in the evening. A very large crowd was gathered before a massive building called The Prestige. This included onlookers who had come to feast their eyes and the media present to cover the grand entrance of the celebrities.
The Prestige building exudes elegance and class, from its modern architectural style to its breathtaking appearance.
This building is one of the Ace Company's grand properties that commands a lot of respect.
Just then, a black BMW drove into the parking lot, and a slender, pretty leg of a lady was seen stepping out of the car.
This caught the attention of the crowd, and they were astounded when they saw the lady's full figure next to the car.
She was wearing a black evening dress with sleeves designed in silver.
The dress looked perfect on her body as it accentuated her curves. Indeed, she was blessed with beauty that turned heads.
"What a beauty!"
"She looks like she stepped out of a painting."
"Oh my, isn't she the CEO of Santos Corporation? She's not just brilliant but also blessed with an adorable appearance!"
Felicia became the center of attention as she stepped out of her car. The crowd continued to admire her captivating appearance, but none of them could muster the courage to approach the beautiful queen.
Clara quickly walked closer to her daughter, her heart swelling with joy. She was over the moon as she saw the crowd amazed by her daughter.
"My jewel, your status has grown to an unimaginable height in the city," she said happily.
Felicia blushed while Bella chimed in, "I think this is just the beginning, as the Santos Corporation is about to step into the next level tonight."
Felicia smiled slightly and said, "It's alright. Let's head inside." And they all went to the entrance of the hall.
As soon as they were about to enter, the security guards stopped them.
"Hello, I would like to see your invitation card," the security guard requested.
"Come on, it's already been sorted out," Felicia responded softly.
The security guard was annoyed, but he didn't want to cause trouble. "Please, I don't understand you. The only access to this party is with an invitation card."
Felicia's face frowned slightly. She felt tired of explaining it to the guard.
When she had asked Jonah about the invitation earlier in the day, he told her they would be granted access to the hall because he had taken care of it.
Why was the security denying their entry? This left them with questions.
Clara's face had twisted in disgust, but she tried her best to control herself.
Then, she forced a smile at the security guard. "Come on, buddy. Even if we don't have an invitation card, you can't deny my daughter's presence. She's the CEO of Santos Corporation."
The security guard exchanged glances with his colleague and scoffed, "I'm sorry, who you are doesn't count here. Without an invitation, you are insignificant."
The women's faces had already turned ashen in embarrassment when the other guard added,
"You can step aside or join the crowd if you don't have an invitation with you."
This statement struck their faces like lightning. They couldn't deny the fact that they weren't in the league to attend the Ace Company Charity dinner.
Nevertheless, they weren't expecting such a humiliating embarrassment from the security guards.
Bella couldn't hold it any longer as she voiced out, "Regardless, you should be a bit more polite when addressing visitors. You might end up regretting this if you find out who's backing us."
The security guard replied coldly, "That's not talk. Moreover, politeness is only for those who have earned it."
The arrogant Bella felt a rush of humbleness wash over her face, as did Clara.
At this time, the crowd had begun to gossip about the denial of entry for the Santos Corporation.
Then, Felicia quickly whispered to Bella and Clara, "We have to take this lightly so that we won't end up embarrassing ourselves here."
Right at that moment, a young man dressed in a well-tailored suit appeared and walked closer to them. It was none other than Jonah, the heir of the Quinton family.
"Felicia, I guess I arrived early as expected."
The ladies raised their heads, and a glimmer of hope spread across their faces at the sight of the wealthy heir.
Even though the Quinton family wasn't among the top-tier families in the city, they still held some significance.
The women couldn't wait to see the security guards tremble under Jonah's scold.
"Welcome, Mr. Quinton. You arrived at the right time," Felicia welcomed him.
Then, Clara chimed in, unable to contain herself, "Jonah, could you believe these security guards had the gut to deny our entry even though we informed them about your arrangements?"
Jonah's brow furrowed slightly. "I'm sorry for keeping you waiting, Mrs. Santos. Now that I've arrived, I will handle the situation."
Clara's heart melted as she appreciated him. "You are such a perfect gentleman."
Despite that, what had happened wasn't his fault; he still took the blame for himself.
Bella was impressed, too, as she praised him. "Mr. Quinton, you're a perfect match for Miss Santos."
Jonah felt flattered as he said, "It's alright. Give me a moment to get this solved."
The rich-looking heir walked closer to the guards and whispered to them gently. "Hehe, please, I will need your help."
The guards stared at him for a moment before giving him their attention. "What is it, Mr. Quinton?" one of the guards asked, raising his voice.
Jonah quickly signaled for him to keep his voice low as he explained, "I'm aware that entrance into the dinner party is strictly by invitation, but I don't have anyone with me."
"It's no problem; you can join the crowd too," the other guard responded nonchalantly.
Even though the Quinton group holds significance in the city, they're not in the league to receive an invitation to the company's charity dinner.
"No... Why didn't we do it this way?" Jonah reached for a few bills in his pocket and wanted to secretly force them into the palms of the guards.
"What an embarrassment?!"
"Mr. Quinton, are you trying to bribe us so you can sneak in?!"
The guards shouted in irritation as they withdrew their hands, making the dollar bills scatter on the floor.
Jonah's face flushed red in shame as he became the center of attention. The crowd was all glaring at him, including Felicia, whom he was doing his best to impress.
