Chereads / Emperor of the Four Seasons / Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

If there's one single thing an emperor could do, it's that he's a workaholic man who can't live by doing nothing. During his days in the empire, there was no time for him to rest as there's too many works to do. Being an emperor wasn't only about being good at the battlefield, it also required tons of administrative responsibilities, that's why he was also nicknamed "the great emperor" as he excel in every areas, his creativity and management planning often gets high praises by the ministers and nobles with nonstop schedules.

After learning that their child suffered a severe memory loss from the recent accident, both Benjamin and Diana hired a set of tutors and requested the school to homeschool Jeremiah. For now, they would focus their attention only for him.

They had hired a linguistic, mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy, economics, history, philosophy, music, arts and sports teachers to teach Jeremiah from start to finish.

"Honey, I was still skeptical about this. Aren't we rushing things for a bit?"

"Do not worry honey, I had a hundred percent trust that our son will make it."

Diana was still worried that maybe instead of helping Jeremiah, they might just burden their child with this lessons. While Benjamin assured his wife that she got nothing to worry about since he already informed those tutors about their sons condition and also they hired a top notch tutors. If Jeremiah find it hard to ever catch up then they will just not force him.

It was 8:00 in the morning, the time for the first lesson had arrived. A sharp knock echoed through the door.

"Hello, Good morning Mr. and Mrs. Andres, I am the English tutor from the school institution of the Holy Saints Academy Ms. Maribelle, Can I ask if your son, Jeremiah Andres is ready for the lesson?"

"Sure, no problem he was already waiting in his tiny classroom. You may head in there Ms. Tutor. Have you had your breakfast already, if I may ask?"

"Yeah, Thank you for your generosity but I had already eaten my fill."

"Oh no worries, here, let us guide you to the room where Jeremiah was."

Ms. Maribelle nods and just followed the couple towards the huge mansion, reaching the area that looks exactly like a classroom but with only one student present.

Ms. Maribelle smiled at Jeremiah and begins her lesson.

During the lesson, Jeremiah who had already master some English from watching television and reading dictionary a couple of days ago, didn't falter as having a tutor by his side made it easier for him to progress his sense of speech being too formal for this modern era.

Jeremiah was satisfied by his new profound knowledge like how to form sense of speech and even write English words. As an emperor Jeremiah's hand writing shock Ms. Maribelle, the way he stroke the pen in a careful and precise manner. Every word was written like a calligraphy.

Jeremiah also complimented how advance the papers and pens this world had, during those days as an emperor, papers and inks are already considered a luxury yet this type of paper he was holding now are way too clean, including the many kinds of pens with different strokes where the emperor could try out different ways of writing style at the fullest.

"If I wasn't an emperor back in my day, I would've applied as an administrator, a librarian or an author." Jeremiah mumbled to himself as Mr. Maribelle was still looking at his works with bewildered expression. If she can, she would like to stole them and add them into her collections.

"Where did this monster come from?"

After three hours of english lessons, Ms. Maribelle and Jeremiah said their goodbyes to each other.

"Ms. Maribelle, how was our son?" Diana spoke and ask worriedly.

"Ma'am, you got nothing to worry about. By any chance do you know your son has talent for creative writing?"

"???"

"???"

Ms. Maribelle was put in an awkward position as she now remembers that Jeremiah had a severe memory loss as mentioned, being with Jeremiah, it's more like talking to foreigner rather than a person who had amnesia.

"Good bye, Mr. and Mrs. Andres. I will comeback tomorrow, you're son had already learned most of my text book so I will work hard in teaching him more about figure of speech and creative writing. Might also consider teaching him writing analysis and mass communication if ever his progress continue." Ms. Maribelle then said her goodbye to the couple.

"Did she just complimented our son?" Benjamin whispered.

"Yeah I think so." Diana nodded.

An hour later the mathematics tutor had finally arrived, followed by the biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy, economics, business management, history, philosophy, music, arts and sports. The tutors had nothing to say but praise Jeremiah for his high IQ.

"Did our son just turned into a super genius over night?" Benjamin couldn't believe what he had been hearing. Almost every tutors highly regarded Jeremiah's outstanding performance during the lessons.

"Honey... ... .." Diana sob in a tears filled with joy being too proud of her Jeremiah's achievements.

***********

"I'm so exhausted"

The time when all the schedules are done, Jeremiah finally had his time to rest from all new knowledge he had received from bunch of tutors. Jeremiah then praised this world, even without the use of magic they still found their own ways to developed, human brains are indeed a force to be reckoned with.

Jeremiah had found love for all the subjects he had just studied earlier, he cannot pick one favorite as he find every lesson very helpful. The new notation he learned from mathematics also deeply impresses the emperor. In his kingdom, they are using roman like notation for accounting that's why corruption ran rampant in the whole empire and it became a headache for Jeremiah to pick out those weeds that had sprount their wings into a his own dynasty.

Not to mention Science, Science had opened tons of doors and possibilities to Jeremiah. Science is more complex than magic because it requires logical explanations before the theory would be proven, Jeremiah also opened his eyes to the human anatomy in biology, the universe from astronomy, the logics behind physics and even trying his first chemistry lessons which are unforgettable experience for him.

The history of the world and how they had they developed also intrigued Jeremiah as he was curious how a manaless world could developed this instant from just countless centuries.

His already broad understanding with economics and business management was later enhanced after finally learning their revised method through the books.

'If I had this books during my previous life, it would've been barely an inconvenient for me to help my empire develop.' Jeremiah could only imagine what would've happen. ' If there was no constant wars and magic powers in his original world, would they also develop like here on earth?"

A world that needed an emperor to guide his fellow subjects, create rules. He's an emperor, but he had created tons of poems in his previous life like those great philosophers written in the textbooks.

"The moral codes here are far more human than in my previous world." The main reason why there are many wars was because everyone has their own philosophy which are far more inhumane.

"I can't wait for what offerings tomorrow would bring." Jeremiah closed his eyes before he fell asleep after washing his face in the sink.
