Chapter 11 - Glasses and pot

The next day, the sunlight gently crept in, chasing away the darkness of the night, and began to caress the houses and streets. The city's inhabitants woke up to start a new day, and the shops opened one by one, while the voices of the vendors calling out their goods filled the streets with vitality and energy.

Eden woke up early, had his breakfast hastily, and then stepped out confidently. His mind was filled with thoughts, and his plans for the day were clear: acquire a rare item, then head to the blacksmith's street, where, according to the future, the blacksmith who would become the King of Blacksmiths resided.

Eden moved between the shops, carefully observing everything displayed. The goods were varied: weapons and armor, rare herbs, and even old talismans rumored to contain magical powers. Some caught his interest, while others seemed worthless.

Finally, he entered a shop that sold gold and jewelry. This was part of his plan to sell the stolen goods he had acquired from the village chief's house. Inside the shop, the scent of metal filled the air, while the shopkeeper was busy inspecting the jewelry carefully under the light of a small magical lamp.

The shopkeeper spoke in a dry tone, trying to downplay the value of the stolen goods:

"These pieces seem real, but don't expect me to pay much for them."

Eden replied with a cunning smile:

"You have a keen eye, but you know very well these aren't just ordinary jewels."

After a series of sharp negotiations, Eden managed to sell them for 25 silver coins. He carried the bag containing the money and felt a weight he wasn't used to, but he knew this money wouldn't last long.

As he walked through the crowded street, he carefully observed the people around him. The street vendors, children playing, and mercenaries discussing profitable deals. It seemed like everything in this world revolved around power and money.

The currencies in this world:

Copper coins: The least valuable currency, used for small daily transactions.

Silver coins: Equivalent to 100 copper coins, used to purchase goods of moderate value.

Gold coins: Equivalent to 100 silver coins or 1,000 copper coins, representing great wealth for an ordinary person.

Royal coins: Special coins issued only by the emperor or the royal family. They are given to those who have achieved great feats and are considered a symbol of honor and high status.

As Eden walked, an old man sitting on the ground caught his attention, surrounded by a variety of items. A small smile appeared on his face as he whispered to himself:

"Finally, I've found you."

He didn't approach immediately but acted naturally, browsing through the shop windows until he reached the old man. He started flipping through some items: handmade girls' bracelets, herbs, a small piece of armor, and an iron ring. But what caught his attention was a pair of oval-shaped glasses.

Eden took the ring, the bracelet, and the glasses and asked:

"How much for these, old man?"

The old man replied in a calm voice:

"Five copper coins."

Eden quickly responded:

"That's too much!"

He was about to return the items and leave, but the old man asked:

"How much do you have?"

Eden pulled out three copper coins and said:

"That's all I have."

The old man finally agreed, and the transaction was made. Eden left quickly, a wide grin on his face.

"Finally, I've got it!"

In an alley, Eden tossed the iron ring and the girls' bracelet, then continued walking, holding the glasses in his hands.

These glasses were what he had been looking for: the Glasses of Knowledge.

The Glasses of Knowledge were a rare item created during the Golden Age a thousand years ago at the Tower of Knowledge to gather information. These glasses had the ability to provide details about monsters and their weaknesses, types of herbs, and the value of precious stones. They also contained vast knowledge about this world.

With this item, Eden felt his days at the Academy of Light would become easier, especially since the academy had the largest library in the Valhalla Empire.

But Eden had one question: How did this old man acquire this rare item that belonged to the Tower of Knowledge? However, he didn't care much.

What mattered more was that he had just saved the entire continent from disaster.

For these glasses were supposed to fall into the hands of a child who would later become the crazed Lich, causing widespread destruction and the death of millions. Thanks to Eden, this fate had changed.

Eden entered an alley to shorten the path toward Blacksmith's Street. While walking, he accidentally cut his finger and dropped a drop of blood on the glasses. The glasses glowed faintly, and at that very moment, a screen appeared before him:

[Success in the manager's mission to change the fate of many people.]

[The inventory has been unlocked (can be upgraded using points).]

[The quest function has been unlocked (the system will issue quests, and upon completion, the manager will receive rewards).]

---

What Eden didn't know was that the old man who had sold him the glasses had vanished as if he were a mirage. Before disappearing, he had been smiling madly, his terrifying appearance highlighting the wrinkles on his face.

"Finally... someone has obtained the glasses."

In truth, these glasses had a will of their own and would not recognize their master even if blood was placed upon them, for they had never acknowledged anyone in a thousand years. They were searching for someone special, someone with the qualifications to become the Master of Knowledge and Truth.

As for the old man, he had made the glasses a thousand years ago due to his obsession with knowledge.

When the Tower of Knowledge was destroyed, he returned to life with his soul in order to find someone worthy to become the master of the glasses. Now, after the glasses found their owner, his soul could finally rest in peace.
