Chapter : Ayomide
# *Mike's POV*
Shortly after dropping off Diana, my eyes grew brighter and brighter with each passing second. An unexpected hum escaped my lips and surprisingly, I started bopping my head to the strange strings of songs played in my heart
"Well, well.. today turned out better than I expected. I was able to flaunt my status and my wealth plus my knowledge to Diana" my voice rang out in the car, carrying an excited tone and mutterings
I tilted my head to the side slightly, my brows furrowed, creating an arch, my hands slowly tapped on the steering and my eyes's glow dimmed a bit
"Something doesn't feel right.."
"But the annoying thing is, I can't tell what it is"
Endless streams of thoughts poured into my head and I wondered, the patterned tapping of my fingers could easily tell.
# Tap, tap, tap..
After a while, I shook my head and pressed my foot on the acceleration and drove straight to the gates of my family's estate (which is technically also mine)
"Young master Mike, your father wishes to see you" A sonorous voice carrying a very distinctive metallic tone.
"Arthur, you don't always have to sneak up on me like that" I sighed as the car stopped at the gate.
The scarlet gate towered almost into skies, the clouds parted as the peaks of the gate jotted into it, an archaic and ancient aura seemingly gave a suppressive and condescending presence as if one was looking at a dragon standing above them and they were under it's gaze.
The more eye catching feature was the shimmering silver moon emblem etched into the centre of the gate, if the gates was like a dragon hovering in the skies, the emblem was like where it's resting upon, the silver moon gave off a much more calm and oppressive pressure, it almost shined as if there was a real life moon right in front of your very eyes.
I looked up at the gates and the moon emblem and I was awestruck, reverence and amazement flashed across my eyes and I bowed to it.
It could be said that the gate could be called a family treasure because it was personally crafted and made by the founding ancestor several centuries ago, unique in style and craftsmanship, it's the only thing in the estate that hasn't been changed since the time of the founding ancestors and even other clans would bow when visiting the silver moon estate.
Legend has it that it's a terrifying weapon of mass destruction and protection and only the clan heads with a unique scroll modified into a device that could activate it and throughout the entire clan history, it has been activated twice and one for an attack and the other for defense, the one time, it was activated for an attack, it nearly wiped out a rival clan over 300 years ago, the power was so horrifying, other clans pissed their pants when looking at it. And the other time it was activated for a defense, it became an impenetrable fortress and this was used when the entire werewolf clan almost went extinct due to witches and vampires conniving to end their race, it was the last place of defense and it stood it's ground against all opposing parties till the end.
Although, upon every activation and depending on the level of work it had to do, it expended alot of energy and it has lost majority of it's awe-inspiring glow and now less than 70% what it used to be but this doesn't make it any weaker because nobody, not even another race would dare want to try exhausting it's other less 30% of power, atleast not yet.
"Why does father want to see me Arthur?"
I turned to face an extremely thin and aged man, freckles and wrinkles covered his face, he looked nothing more than a bag of flesh and bones, his eyebrows and patches of hair were already drooping to the point that it was almost difficult to see his eyes, the man was very dark skinned and hunched but a terrifying energy emanated from his body, a silver moon insignia was made into a chain dangling on his chest as he steadies himself on his cane.
"Your father won't specify but it has something to do with your uncle's son, Ayomide" Arthur slowly spoke, he let out a sigh and walked past me.
"Ay-Ayomide!" my eyes grew as wide as saucers.
You may not know this but Ayomide is second person I mentioned earlier that carries the hope of resurrecting the clan back to it's glory days, all good? Well, except for the fact that he's an annoying and condescending ragtag that thinks he's better than everyone and just like his name, when he was born, an auspicious sign brought joy to the entire clan and even my dad is fond of him.
Although I have the most thickness bloodline and robust energy, I'm yet to unlock even a tenth of it's power, Ayomide's bloodline is almost as thick as mine and has similar robust energy but he has unlocked about half of it's power stored within, making him the strongest among the entire younger generation, it has even come to a point that almost everyone in the clan sees him as the young master and not me, fuelling my desire to find a mate and fortunately for him, the heavens have smiled upon me
Not only have I found my mate, she has to be the most beautiful and stunning girl I have ever seen and my heart truly loves her. I closed my eyes and swallowed
Unfortunately for me, Ayomide has a mate since last year and the occasion was the biggest event in the clan since my dad's inauguration as the clan head more than 18 years ago
Quite a huge pain in the a** that lad is, because of him, I'm down to being the number 2 strongest among the younger generation, even though my ancestors and my dad was all number one during their younger days but I have hope since my bloodline is more thicker and has more potential.
I smiled gleefully and consoled myself, I followed closely to Arthur and other clan members that sees us clasps their hands in greeting or nods.
"Mikeeeee!!! You're finally back" A tiny voice reverberated across the surroundings and the moment I heard it, I quickly hastened my steps and shook my head, my expression warped into fear and terror
If there is one more person I certainly don't want to see as I just arrived, it would be Bella, I don't know who told her, we're compatible or anything. The girl frightens me
