Chapter 2 - What Time Is It?

"AAAAGGHHH!!!"

With a sudden shout, Light woke up with his whole body covered in sweat. His head was drenched in sweat and he looked like he had just stepped out of the shower. The fact that even his bed was soaked seemed to indicate what kind of state he was in.

He instantly turned to his arm and his eyes began to tear, and the tears flowing from his eyes and the fact that he saw that his arm was in place made his emotions officially drained. He was trying to pull himself together with his deep breaths, but he realised that he could not do it. The fact that the pain in his leg had disappeared and even the bitterness on his face had disappeared was driving him crazy.

"What's going on?!"

It was not good that he was having a panic attack at that moment. His emotions were lining up one after the other and he seemed to be losing his last remaining breaths because he was officially blocked. At that very moment, he saw something in front of his eyes.

An envelope was spinning in front of his eyes only 70 centimetres away from him. The fact that he realised this calmed him down a little, but the fact that he was seeing such a thing did not make him think that he was dreaming. It was ridiculous.

Light, who slowly extended his arm towards the envelope, managed to touch the absurdly rotating envelope, and with that, the envelope opened with a little glow, and Light was confronted with something he had never seen before.

"What the hell is this?" thought Light. The fact that he had never seen anything like this in his entire life seemed to be telling him that he was going crazy.

However, even though he was calming down, he kept looking at the door and easily realised that his stress was getting worse, he was afraid that he was developing some kind of trauma. Just looking at the door was enough to make his heart race.

As soon as he regained his composure a little, he stood up and realised that this strange window-like thing in front of him was following him, wherever he turned, this window followed him and continued to exist in front of his eyes.

However, he suddenly caught sight of the cross on the upper right edge of the window-like thing, and thinking that it was just like closing websites on a computer, he touched it. Just then the window disappeared and Light took a deep breath, realising this.

He must have realised that he was seriously frightened at that moment, because he suddenly went to the bathroom, took off his clothes and got into the bathtub inside the apartment, filling it with cold water. He really didn't know and couldn't understand what was happening.

Or was it all a nightmare? However, he was aware that everything that happened was too realistic to be a nightmare. Maybe he might have seen such extreme things as a nightmare because he had talked about too many horror films with his friends from his university these days.

After all, it was ridiculous that the sky was painted red, that zombies existed, or that mutated people were now turning into monsters by losing their humanity and losing their memories on top of it, and on top of that, the red sun and the sky had somehow brought the ice age back to the world... Knowing this, he thought that maybe a little relaxation would do him good, which ended with a cold shower, or as he called it, a cold bath.

When he got his head in and out of the tub with his whole body, he realised that his body, which had been taking deep breaths not from fear but from the cold, had relaxed considerably, and as soon as he had finished cleaning himself, he got out of the tub. He had asked the computer to look up such nightmares, wondering if he was the only one affected by realistic nightmares.

Although he knew she was still scared, the fact that he had calmed down had pushed him to take a step forward. This was the biggest reason for him to sit down at the computer immediately.

He immediately opened his internet browser typed 'the effects of realistic dreams on people' in the search field and clicked on the search button. After only a few minutes of searching, a site appeared in front of him and he realised that all of his symptoms were written opposite him.

"Extreme congestion, deep breathing, body damage control, deep fear, inability to connect to reality, trauma, transient personality disorder, sudden memory loss, dizziness, extreme hunger and many more...What the hell is this? What have I gotten myself into?"

Just after Light had stopped checking the website, there was a sudden knock on the apartment door. A heavy tremor ran from his head to his feet and stopped. He immediately grabbed his hunting knife and then slowly approached the door. It was just a trauma, but being on guard was not going to do anyone any harm.

When he looked through the hole in the door, he saw a postman in front of him and he just kept breathing for a few seconds as if he did not trust other people, just as the postman was leaving the door, he quickly opened the door and asked "How can I help you?" while hiding the hunting knife behind his waist.

Finally realising that the door was open, the postman took an envelope out of the bag he was carrying and handed it to him, saying "Is this Mr Light Black's house?".

After Light nodded, the postman who delivered the envelope took off his hat in a polite manner and then said, "I wish you a good day sir." and left the corridor. However, Light, who went inside and closed the door, started to read the writing on the envelope and realised that the envelope was from his sister.

"Petunia Black...What does my dear sister want from me again?" However, just as he was about to open the envelope, he immediately saw the date on the envelope. Light, whose eyes suddenly began to flicker, suddenly stood up from the computer chair he was sitting in, and as his breathing began to tighten again, the following date flashed through his mind:

"Just 1st 2024?"
