Light waited for a few seconds when he heard this sentence and then stroked his sister's hair with his right hand.
"You're not wrong, but we don't just have each other, sis. Lawrence, Pacifica, Aurora, Leonard, Duke, Kyle, and perhaps more in the future, we will eventually move up a huge echelon. Courage is what I need the most, even though I'm scared. I am going to make sure you survive."
Light's words touched not only Petunia but also Lawrence and Pacifica who were listening to them from behind the door.
Apart from Petunia, not many people knew exactly what Light's reason for taking on so much responsibility was. Even Lawrence knew very little, even though he had been by Light and Petunia's side all his life.
