Chapter 43 - Elise Roan

Light had been travelling over the snow-covered land and trying to find his way for quite some time, it had been almost ten minutes since he had entered the borders of Birmingham.

Unlike other cities and regions, the civilisation here did not seem to have collapsed, on the contrary, it seemed to be growing.

He could see dozens of people looking at him with puzzled eyes. He could watch the areas where zombie bodies were burned. Although the disgusting smell of rotten meat repelled people, the snow here was incredibly shallow unlike in other regions.

After a short time, Light noticed an open market, approached the market and got off the snowmobile. A few people were approaching him, but it was clear from their faces that they had no bad thoughts; these looks were more like curiosity.

Light was not interested in fighting, but he was ready to reach for the pistol on his waist just in case. He stood among dozens of signs written in Chinese and just waited.
