Chapter 31 - Tier 3 Mutant Zombie

"Leonard!" Light shouted and pointed at the Tier 3 Zombie. Realising this, Leonard stopped firing at the zombies around him and then returned to tier 3.

The two soldiers around were carefully trying to take down the zombies, but there were really too many. Light could see normal zombies coming from the darkness.

On top of that, the mutant zombies wouldn't die. The level two soldiers kept on walking even though the bullets were literally going through them.

Even though the soldiers and Light were retreating, only three Tier 2 Mutant Zombies could be killed. Leonard, on the other hand, was doing an incredible job, the Tier 3 Mutant Zombies were retreating due to Leonard's quick magazine changes and accurate headshots.

Even with Leonard firing so many rounds, the Tier 3 Mutant Zombie seemed to be just retreating. Even though the bullets directly hit the zombie's skin and even hit it in the head, they just bounced off the body as if they were pieces of plastic.

'What the hell is this?!' shouted Leonard, but it didn't do any good.

Leonard, who was running out of ammunition, aimed at the zombie's legs, at least he could prevent it from moving.

At that very moment, the zombie lunged towards Leonard. Leonard must have felt his whole life flash before his eyes at that moment because time seemed to slow down incredibly for him.

The Tier 3 Mutant Zombie had just reached him when suddenly a voice was heard:

"LEONARD MOVE!"

The voice belonged to Light, who suddenly threw himself at the zombie with his body.

"Kuargh..."

The zombie fell to the ground with a groan and Light grabbed him by the arms and slammed him to the ground. While Leonard was trying to understand what was happening, Light shouted at him again:

"CRUSH HIS HEAD NOW!"

Leonard saw that the zombie was not even damaged by bullets, he could not understand how it would be damaged by crushing its head, but there was nothing else he could do at the moment, he rushed forward and stepped on the zombie's head with as much pressure as he could with his foot:

"STOMPED!! SQUESSHH!!!"

An incredibly dark blood spurted out of the mutant zombie's crushed head, and the zombie's head was reduced to a sludge of putrid blood.

Light got up from the zombie after these sounds, because the Tier 3 Mutant Zombie was crushed to death with this action.

Amid Leonard and the others' astonishment, Light's voice was heard again:

"WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR, KILL THEM ALL YOU IDIOTS!"

The trio was surprised at what was happening, but with Light's sudden shout, each of them suddenly resumed firing as if they had returned to themselves.

The first or second-tier mutant zombies were not that much of a problem. The first tier had almost no defence and the second tier's body had a little defence, but the third tier....if it wasn't for Light's inspection skill, each of them would have died at the hands of this zombie.

"Tier 3 Scout Mutant Zombie

It can only be slain by physical damage at close range."

However, now with only a few normal zombies slowly coming towards them and five mutant zombies remaining in front of them, they had almost cleared the place.

-----

"Well done." When Light uttered these words, the zombie corpses around were just waiting. The entire supermarket seemed to have fallen silent, every single soldier was panting, and Light was just sitting there, looking incredibly exhausted.

"Light!"

Suddenly there was a voice from the window where the crimson light entered, Pacifica was calling out to Light.

"What happened?" Light said in a normal voice.

"Can you get out? Hold on to the rope if you want, we'll pull you up, one by one of course!"

Immediately after these words Pacifica, and the group looked at each other and just smiled. This was enough to tell them that they had come to the end of this hell.

Anyway, Light would not normally enter such a hellhole on his own will, he was even massively surprised that he was so brave, the only reason he entered here was that he didn't want to leave anything to that eagle-symbolised group.

At least most of the supermarkets in this area had been wiped out by him, that was enough for him.

"After you, Master Light," Leonard said, indicating that it was time to leave this hellhole.

-----

"Hoh....."

Light took a deep breath, the fresh air outside had energised him perfectly, not only for him but for the whole group.

"Thank you both, you cleared the way for us," said Light suddenly, and with that the two who had come out smiled.

"Are we going home?" asked Pacifica suddenly, and with that, Light nodded and decided that it would be dangerous to go any further at the moment.

Now he could return home to his sister.

He immediately took out his phone from his inventory and looked at the messages, the messages in front of his eyes made him smile:

"Dear Sis: Light, are you okay? You haven't written for a while, I mean, okay, it's been almost five hours, but you said you would write every hour.

Dear Sis: If you don't reply, I'll go looking for you! Please don't worry your sister..."

"Old Man: Sir, Madam Petunia is going crazy, please at least say something that you're alive, of course, I'm worried too but it's hard to keep her from going out."

The fact that the two people he cared about were so concerned about him made him smile inwardly, it felt good to have a family to turn to in such a shitty world.

After only a short time, Light wrote them back and lifted the phone back into his sub-space, now it was just a matter of hopping on the snowmobile and going home.

It had indeed taken a great deal of skill and luck to leave hell so easily and to do so without anyone dying.
