Chapter 32 - Sweet Home

"This is my home." When Light uttered these words, they had already arrived at his home. Only the ceiling of the house was visible, and the tall sides of the solar-panelled tower were also visible, and indeed the whole house was under the snow.

If Light remembered correctly, there was not such a big mass of floors on the house before, which of course made him happy that the house was better hidden....of course, the tower spoilt the privacy a little, but that was as it should be.

"Under the snow is my house, you mean?" said Pacifica suddenly, revealing a small chuckle that lifted the morale of the group.

"So yes, now let's get to what I'm going to say. Leonard and the others, I can't let you into my house." Light had uttered these words in jest, and each of them, including Pacifica, was left dumbfounded.

"But master Light!" Leonard had just started to speak when Light stopped him and said, "First of all, listen, I didn't say that I would leave you in the snow and winter that can literally freeze you in 10 minutes." Hearing this, Leonard and the others paused and then waited, shaking their heads.

"I will give you tents where you can be as warm as your own home, they are state-of-the-art tents, they are spacious and warm inside, and it is incredibly difficult to tear them, there is no way zombies can get in here when we are already shovelling the snow, so I will help you in this situation."

"With your power, sir?" Leonard asked, already looking like he wanted to work under Light's command.

"Yes, if you want to stay with me, I will provide you with these facilities. I swear to you that I will even build you a house with my own hands when the snow stops and disappears. Just understand that my house is my and my family's private place, I cannot allow you to live in it unless you are as close to me as my family. Only Pacifica can come."

Everyone in the group seemed to understand Light's words, after all, Leonard wanted to be under Light's command. Every single one of their lives had been saved by him and that was why the group was incredibly loyal to him, well at least in the future they were gonna be.

"Can I really come?" asked Pacifica, she thought she was going to stay outside.

Hearing this question, Light was confused, he squinted his eyes and looked at Pacifica and then asked "Was I going to leave one of the most valuable people in my life outside?".

Pacifica hesitated when she received this answer mixed with a question, her eyes teared up, but the tears did not flow down her face, she had no idea how she could repay her debt to Light.

"I'd like to say it's time to shovel the snow, but you must be hungry before that," Light said and then took out hot food and hot coffee from his sub-space.

Light decided to do some experiments in his sub-space before leaving the house immediately. This was more of a curiosity than an experiment.

He had transferred a few ice cubes from the refrigerator to his sub-space and waited for a week without touching them, and as a result, the ice cubes came out the same way without a drop on them.

But was that true for hot things, too?

This was what Light discovered, as long as he did not enter his sub-space, even if he took things from outside with his thoughts, the time inside the sub-space was completely frozen.

Hot things stayed hot until he wanted them hot, cold things stayed cold until he wanted them cold. This meant that hot coffee prepared in a thermos would come out at the same temperature, which was really a perfect event in this weather.

"Thank you, sir...." Leonard and the others took and consumed some very satisfying food such as hot sweet bread, and with the coffee, they managed to regain their senses.

After that, Light took out a lot of heat packets and gave them to the group, and then he took those things out of his sub-space that would leave them all open-mouthed:

"Two bulldozer diggers?"

"Yes, you will do the digging with them, I will show you where the house is with signposts and then you will start working. You, madam, I didn't ask your name, that goes for the other two military gentlemen, forgive my rudeness, but may I know your name?" Light suddenly remembered that he had forgotten such a simple thing and asked.

"My name is Aurora sir, and these gentlemen here are Kyle and Duke."

When Aurora uttered these words, Light shook his head and then asked, "You told me you were a construction manager and a pretty good architect on top of that, right? Do you know how to use these tools?" Hearing this, Aurora, thinking that it would finally come in handy, confirmed Light by saying, "I know it as well as walking, sir."

"Then you will drive the vehicle and the soldiers will protect you. When you get to the bottom, I'll give you the tents, I'm sorry but it's hard to sleep until you get to the bottom, even though this is far from the centre of Powys, zombies can still come here." Each member of the group nodded their heads at Light's words and Light left them certain items and proceeded to the roof of the house.

At least he moved over the snow-covered area where the roof was.

He sent a message to his sister that he had arrived and told her to open the roof of his room. After shovelling the snow off the roof with a shovel, he was greeted by the sight of his sister Petunia and her precious butler Lawrence.

"LIGHT!" cried Petunia as she rushed in and gave Light a big hug, clinging to him without letting go of the cold from the coat.

"Dear sister, are you all right?" said Light suddenly and with that Pacifica jumped through the hole in the ceiling.

Petunia suddenly took Light behind her and questioned "Who the hell is this?" with astonishment.

Light shook his head at this question and then thought that it would take a long time to explain everything. Hopefully, this incident will not be a headache.
