Chapter 1 - Prologue

The cosmos was vast, infinite, and yet... fragile.

Within the endless expanse of universes, where the stars burned brighter than the Gods themselves, a singular ripple disrupted the balance of all things. A cascade of light pierced through the dimensions, shattering divine barriers, twisting the threads of fate, and awakening an ancient power lost forgot to even the architects of creation.

In the depths of the void, beyond the comprehension of mortals, deities, reality, fiction and even omniscience, a figure floated aimlessly. The figure had long abandoned a physical form, and now just wondered as an essence through the void.

It's eyes, or what would be eyes to us, remained closed, his expression calm as though it was hibernating – yet his presence was a paradox, a horrid and terrible being that should not exist. A being that was beyond even an author, even a real life God. He was a contradiction.

A God among Gods that chose not to interfere. A God who at a glance, would make all others realise they were an insult to the word. Despite its vow to never interfere, existence itself was a mere part of this being. Every story, every legend, every character, every real life God and person were nothing but mere insects to this being.

However, this is not the story of the being that dwells in the endless, beyond fiction and non fiction, void. No, this story is of a long time ago, at least to the perception of us. For a being who exists at every moment in time, past, present and future are irrelevant.

This is the story of how a regular mortal boy like you or I, was transported to another world. It is the story of how he saved a Goddess and she blessed him, and how he later became the being that now rests in the infinite void, for all eternity.

This is the story of Akira Mooncrest, the man who would bring peace to the world. To every world. And the monster who would destroy them just as quickly.

It was a dark and stormy night, rain was falling so heavily that cars could barely see in front of them. People all around were running for shelter as this type of whether was both unusual and unexpected in the area.

The small village of Willowcombe that was situated a little south of London was used to the rainy whether. But this was more. The clouds had turned dark and eerie in minutes and the rain came moments later. The forecast was for a heatwave which seemed to disappear once the clouds came.

Among the people who were running for cover, a young man with scruffy black hair and a chubby body. His stout body and low stamina caused him to be overtaken by others, resulting in him being out in the rain longer.

As the rain started to soak his hair and make it difficult to see through his glasses, he started to lose any hope of shelter. His suit was quickly drenched and his white shirt becoming translucent. As a last ounce of hope, he heard a voice calling through the rain.

"Quickly, get in here. Anyone without cover, get in."

Akira quickly scanned his surrounding in hopes of trying to locate the sound of the voice. The voice was loud, loud enough to compete with the heavy rain that was falling all around him. And for some reason, maybe his large ears finally coming in handy, it seemed only he could hear the voice as no one else was moving.

"Quickly, this way," The voice shouted once again.

'On my left,' Akira thought as he finally found the direction of the voice and made a run for it. Akira was quite large, weighing in at 290 pounds at only 23 years old, and his body had the stamina equivalent to a goldfishes memory, but the sheer intensity of the rain and fear of barely being able to see further than his arm can reach made him run faster than he ever thought he could.

Back in school, the athletic and good looking kids often said he'd only run if it was to chocolate cake, and now, that voice and the promise of shelter was the cake.

"Quickly, this way," The voice sounded again.

Akira ran as fast as he could out of fear he'd be too late and whatever shelter lay out there would be full, but as the voice kept shouting, it always sounded like the voice wasn't getting any closer.

"This way, quickly," And then Akira stopped, out of energy as started to breath erratically. Out of nowhere, Akira heard the sound of a horn right in front of him, and the next thing he remembers....

Darkness.

...

..

.

The next thing Akira knew was the blinding pain all over his body and the throbbing of his skull. The last thing he remembered was the sound of tires screeching, the feeling of his body being tossed about as a car horn sounded. He could faintly recall the sound of ambulance sirens allow around him but that was his final memory before now.

As soon as the pain came, it suddenly went away just as fast as Akira forced his eyes to open despite the resistance from his head.

As his vision came back from initially being a blur, he was greeted by the lush green of leaves and grass all around him. The leaves were swaying around with the breeze that came from the twilight sky above him. The same breeze that brought the scent of moss and wildflowers as he heard the chirping of unfamiliar birds.

It was serene. Too serene.

"What the..." Akira shouted out as he hurriedly got up from the dirt floor he was lying on.

All around him, there was trees that stretched on as far as he could he. Scanning his surrounding further, he could see that the trunks of the trees were much larger than any on Earth, almost like they were guarding the trees from monsters.

"Okay," He muttered as he checked himself physically. "Same clothes but they're not wet from the rain. This definitely isn't a hospital if I was hit by something. Not the afterlife either as my heaven is far from wearing my work salesman clothes.

Suppose I could be in Hell, so what? Lucifer got my eternal damnation as a never ending sales pitch? Gotta give The Devil credit, that's pretty impressive for torture. But if I was in Hell, I'd have that athletic bastard of a boss constantly shouting at me, so it can't be Hell."

On instinct, Akira placed two of his fingers over his pulse and felt a beat. Relieved that he was alive, that also meant that he was in some strange land. His face contorted in pure excitement as he realised what this likely meant.

"Did... Did I get isekai'd?

Yes, that must be it. I was hit by something, probably a truck, and reincarnated in another world. But wait," Akira said as he checked his body, "My body is the same. Same fat, ugly body. In those novels I read, usually when you get reincarnated, you become a child again. A baby even.

But it seems I'm still me. Weird. But at least that doesn't mean I have to wait years to start my journey. Speaking off, if I really am like those characters, then that should mean I have a cheat.

Okay. System open," Akira commanded and expected to see some type of transparent screen that displayed some overpowered abilities. Instead he was met with absolutely nothing.

"Maybe it's Status. Status open," Akira commanded with the alternative. But once again. Nothing.

Getting frustrated about apparently not receiving a cheat like all the others, Akira agitatedly rubbed his head trying to think of other commands.

"Appear to me Stats."

"Come forth cheat."

"Oh no, I'm about to die, please save me mysterious being who'll grant me a cheat."

All that was achieved was Akira making a mockery out of himself to trees. Not even people, trees. After losing all hope, he fell to the ground and started to cry in sadness.

"All those characters, and I don't get a single overpowered ability. Just kill me now," Akira pleaded with the world. As if the world accepted the plea, Akira heard rustling nearby. As he looked around, he could see some bushes not too far from him moving slightly, as though something was about to pounce at him.

"Hello..." Akira yelled towards the bush in hopes it's just a friendly bunny rabbit that would jump out and run away. What jumped out of the bush was indeed a rabbit, but it was far from friendly.

It's incisors was long and daggered at the end. It's eyes were pure blood red and it's fur spiky and maroon with frozen ice attached to every single spike of hair.

As it looked at Akira, fear began to fill up in him. He was never a brave man, nor was he a cowardly man. He would describe himself as somewhere in between. If a taller, muscular man approaching him looking to fight, he'd always try to talk about it but never run away from a beating, just as his parents taught him.

However, that was a man. What stood before him now, while small, was no man. It was some type of monster. And monsters, he was always scared off. So he did the one thing his father taught him no man should ever do. He ran as fast as his chubby body could take him, deeper into the forest.

Hey, Omni_God2000 here.

This is my new book which I announced a while back on my Tensura fanfic. I know it's taken a while to come out, but I wanted to get a decent backlog before starting to release it.

It will eventually be released on Patreon with early access chapters, as well as other bonuses such as side stories and discord access where I'll be and if you ask the right questions, you might get a little hint of the future.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned.
