Chapter 35 - You can talk?

Serena realized that no matter what she says to her daughter, Anezka was not in a state of mind to understand anything. Instead of trying to convince her, she held Anezka's hand and began walking toward the meeting hall. As they approached the hall, she noticed a white wolf silently following them. Once they reached the meeting hall, Serena spotted the royal pet that had come with Evrin. The owl started flapping its wings and flying in circles around Anezka.

As the owl flew by, it caught everyone's attention. Evrin got up from his seat and began observing Anezka. Serena coughed lightly and remarked, "It's rude to stare at your queen, Evrin." Hearing Serena's comment, Evrin chuckled and replied, "Queen who? I only know Queen Azara." He then started gathering his belongings and added, "It's time to go." He glanced at Anezka for a few seconds before heading out of the castle, with everyone else following behind him. Once they reached the main gate of the castle, only Serena, Mikael, and Selmor remained to bid farewell to Anezka.

The royal chariot of the Kingdom of Corbin, drawn by a pair of black horses, was waiting for them. Evrin gave Anezka a few moments to spend with her family. As Serena approached her daughter to hug her, Anezka took a few steps back, causing Serena to tear up. Anezka stood firm, appearing emotionless as she turned to face Evrin and asked, "Do I have to sit in the chariot with my pet?" Taken aback by her question, Evrin replied, "No, you don't have to sit in there. I came here just to make sure no one goes against the law. Queen Azara will personally come to take you." Upon hearing Evrin's words, Anezka shivered.

Evrin approached Serena, bowing slightly in respect to the Queen of the Kingdom of Gaelen. "Everything is now sorted," he said. "I'll take my leave since Queen Azara is arriving soon. Your Majesty, your daughter is in safe hands. You don't have to worry; we Arderes are loyal to our words." With a reassuring smile, Evrin took his seat in his chariot and set off toward the Kingdom of Corbin.

As Anezka saw Evrin leaving, she sighed. Raising her head, she was about to say something to her mother when suddenly the atmosphere changed. Winds began to blow fiercely, and in the distance, hoards of large moths flew toward Anezka.

Witnessing this, Serena grew worried and urged her daughter to come inside the castle. However, Anezka rejected her plea, saying, "It's not my home anymore." Upon hearing her daughter's defiant words, Serena approached her to hold her hands, but just before she could reach Anezka, she felt an immense dark magic emanating from behind her.

Dozens of black, gray, and brown moths, along with countless other colors, enveloped Anezka. As Anezka struggled to break free from their grasp, she noticed a large black loophole emerging beside her, pulling her inside against her will. Before she could protest, both she and her pet were consumed by the overwhelming dark energy.

Witnessing her daughter disappear and be consumed by that dark energy, Serena started screaming as she commanded Selmor to bring her daughter back safely. Instead of obeying her command, Selmor shook his head and said, "Your Majesty, there were moths, and moths only come when there is fire. If Queen Azara is fire then Anezka is a moth, Moth has been taken away by the fire." Hearing his words, Serena broke down, mourning for her daughter's miserable fate.

...

At the palace of Kingdom Corbin

After Anezka was consumed by the moths of dark energy, she clutched her pet's fur as she suddenly fell into an unfamiliar place. The impact of the fall made her groan in pain. Lying on the floor with her pet, she took a few minutes to calm herself and endure the discomfort. Soon, she recovered from the pain but became confused about how she had healed. Although she could feel that her bones were broken, she was now perfectly fine.

Setting her confusion aside, Anezka got up and sat on the floor while tightly holding her pet in her arms. She looked around, trying to ensure she was in a safe place. She realized she was on the floor of a chamber that resembled the comforting space she had in the Kingdom of Gaelen. However, this chamber had a dark aura instead. Determined to explore her surroundings, she stood up and decided to walk around. By now, she was certain that she was in the Kingdom of Corbin.

With her pet following her, she opened the balcony door of her chamber, and what she witnessed was beyond her imagination. The sky was dark, resembling midnight, with a large crimson moon casting an eerie glow. As she observed the entire scenery, she noticed that the land was barren and surrounded by towering dark trees. In this gloomy atmosphere, she whispered to herself, "Am I going to live in this darkness forever?"

A lone tear fell through her eyes as she crouched down and began to caress her pet's fur. "At least I have you with me, ray of white light in this dark place." The pet started licking her cheeks when, for the first time, it spoke. "I'll always accompany you, in every life." The moment she heard her pet speak, she jerked back in fear and hesitantly stuttered, "Y-You can talk?"

The white wolf slowly approached her and said, "Yes, I can talk." Hearing this, Anezka shook her head in disbelief and asked, "Then why didn't you ever try to talk to me before?" The wolf sat beside her and replied, "You were a human without any elemental magic, which is why I couldn't communicate with you. However, after Queen Azara's magical cure potion, you have gained some elemental powers, and that's why I'm able to talk to you now."

Anezka got confused by her pet's words as she asked, "What type of power do I have? Is that why I can see properly now and have lavender-colored eyes?"
