"Hey, have you heard? Neurocore Tech just released a completely new Virtual Dive Gear called Virtual Cabin."
In a spacious classroom, multiple students chattered with each other as they waited for the teacher for the next subject.
"Yes. My friend's friend has already brought one. I heard that it's very comfortable, and one could even stay in-game for a month without any problem. I heard that the movement synchronization rate could even reach up to 99%. My friend's friend has already used the Virtual Cabin to play New Infinite and might be able to craft a new item soon."
"The friend of my cousin's friend has also ordered one. I heard that Neurocore Tech would personally set up the Virtual Cabin in your home as it requires some complicated technology."
"Damn it! Those guys are already using the latest Virtual Dive Gear, the Virtual Cabin? Why am I still stuck at the Virtual Helmet version?
"Bro, you're already in the Virtual Helmet version? I'm still using the Virtual Visor version."
"Haha! Beat me, I'm still in the first generation, the Neuro Dive."
"You guys have Virtual Dive Gear?"
As the meme was completed, the students chuckled with each other before the teacher of the next subject arrived.
At the back of the room, Kael just listened to their conversation.
In today's age, almost all students have their own Virtual Dive Gear, well, except for him.
As for the student who completed the popular meme, Kael knew for a fact that he has a Virtual Pod at home and has only said that for the meme.
After years of development, Neurocore Tech has developed multiple generations of Virtual Dive Gear to completely stabilize their footing in the Virtual Dive Gear industry.
From the first generation Neuro Dive, followed by Virtual Visor, Virtual Helmet, Neural Pod, Virtual Capsule, and then the latest, the sixth generation, Virtual Cabin, that was just released the other day.
Neurocore Tech has led the development, not allowing even competitions to arise.
After the release of Virtual Capsule, Neurocore Tech has completely conquered the industry, leaving the other companies in the dust, filing for bankruptcy one after the other.
The release of the Virtual Cabin was yet another breakthrough for Neurocore Tech and even for the rest of humanity.
Though it could be used for a lot of purposes, the most popular utilization of the technology was still through Virtual Reality Games.
Ever since the release of Neuro Dive ten years ago, multiple games have also risen one after the other to accommodate and adapt to the growing popularity of Virtual Dive Gears.
The most popular game today was called New Infinite. Kael also knew that this was the game that his classmates had been addicted to ever since its release roughly a year ago.
Sometimes, they would even gather after class so that they could play the game together.
All of this, though, has nothing to do with Kael.
First things first, he doesn't even have any Virtual Dive Gears, as even the most outdated 'Neuro Dive' was not something that he could afford.
Second, he doesn't have the time to play such games and would instead allot his extra time searching for a location where he could scavenge items that he could sell for some money.
Thinking of scavenging items, Kael could not help but grow excited.
This was because today was Friday. And Friday was garbage collection day.
Tonight, all garbage trucks would dump the garbage they collected at a large dumping site before getting sorted and being sent to their respective waste processing centers.
Tonight, all his classmates will play the VRMMORPG New Infinite, while he will be in the dumping site to scavenge.
Two different and unrelated activities, but both parties enjoyed what they were doing.
Time quickly passed for Kael, especially since he did not listen to the teacher's discussion at all.
All throughout the day, all he could think of was the dumping site and what kind of items he would be able to scavenge today.
Strategies had already formed inside his head, and what was left was to act on it.
After the class ended, Kael immediately went home and donned his scavenging outfit.
A dark shirt paired with a sack that he casually wrapped around his back to double as a cape. He also wrapped a piece of cloth on his head for some protection, and another was on his neck that could double for a mask.
His father, mother, and younger sister were no longer home. They had probably gone to the dumping site already to secure some good spot.
Not wanting to lag behind, Kael put on his mask and immediately set out toward the dumping site.
