The first thing I noticed when I woke up—Killian was still asleep.
That was unusual.
Killian was always up before sunrise, always pacing like a caged beast before the rest of the pack even opened their eyes.
But today—he hadn't moved. He hasn't even noticed my present yet.
He lay on his back, one arm draped over his forehead, his expression unreadable even in sleep.
I exhaled, rubbing the exhaustion from my eyes.
Yesterday had been… a lot.
Nora.
The kiss.
Killian's anger.
Everything.
Yet I could not understand why Killian always wanted to take control of her.
I had tried to talk to him about it, tried to tell him she wasn't choosing between us—she was still figuring everything out.
But Killian wasn't a patient man.
He had walked away before I could get through to him.
