As Yang Chen landed on the battlefield, the snowstorm created by Kyurem's power slowly began to subside. The ice that froze the Antarctic land was seen cracking due to the energy waves from the previous battle. Kyurem, who had been attacking relentlessly, suddenly stopped and directed a sharp gaze at Yang Chen.
Four years ago, Yang Chen's Dragonite had easily defeated him, an experience that the legendary Pokémon had never forgotten. Kyurem's ice-blue eyes hinted at vigilance and fear. He lowered his posture, not out of surrender, but as a sign of respect towards the threat standing before him.
On the other hand, Mewtwo looked confused. He stared at Kyurem, who had now completely stopped fighting, then directed his gaze towards the mysterious aura emanating from the suddenly appearing human figure.
Mewtwo squinted his eyes, full of suspicion. He immediately read Yang Chen's mind with his telepathic ability, but what he found was total emptiness. No thoughts, no gaps—only an emptiness he couldn't comprehend. This made him angry.
"Who are you?" Mewtwo's telepathic voice echoed in Yang Chen's head.
However, Yang Chen remained silent, his expression calm without a trace of fear. This only made Mewtwo feel even more underestimated. Without warning, he raised his hand, creating a giant psychic energy ball, a Psystrike attack powerful enough to destroy a massive iceberg in an instant.
The energy ball shot toward Yang Chen at an incredible speed, illuminating the entire Antarctic sky with purple light. However, just before the attack reached its target, Yang Chen raised one hand. With a light swipe, the energy ball vanished like smoke, as if it had never existed.
Seeing his supposedly lethal attack have no effect, Mewtwo let out a rare growl. His anger burned deeper, and his purple aura became more intense. This time, he attacked with full force, launching a barrage of Shadow Ball, Aura Sphere, and Psystrike, creating massive explosions everywhere.
However, Yang Chen remained unmoved from his spot. Every attack that approached him either stopped in mid-air, bounced back, or was destroyed before touching his body. He didn't even look like he was struggling.
"Is that all you've got?" Yang Chen's voice finally sounded, low and full of authority.
The statement was like oil igniting a fire. Mewtwo shot forward at lightning speed, attacking directly with Psychic Cut, but Yang Chen merely shifted his body slightly to avoid it, making the attack miss easily. In an instant, Mewtwo launched a series of physical attacks at a speed that even the human eye could not catch.
However, Yang Chen remained untouched, dodging all those attacks effortlessly.
After several minutes of fruitless attacks, Mewtwo stopped, panting. His body shone with energy that was beginning to fade due to exhaustion. Yang Chen remained standing in his place, not even sweating.
"I know your strength, Mewtwo," said Yang Chen while staring at him. "You are one of the strongest Pokémon in this world. But you will never be able to defeat me."
In a low, yet intimidating voice, Yang Chen raised his hand towards Mewtwo. A faint energy radiated from his body, creating a great pressure in the air. In an instant, Mewtwo felt himself restrained by an invisible force. He tried to fight back, but his body couldn't move.
"You have been overused by Team Galaxy. I don't want to destroy you, but I will teach you a lesson," said Yang Chen.
With a single finger movement, Yang Chen sent a small wave of energy that pushed Mewtwo back several meters, causing it to fall onto the icy ground. The attack didn't hurt, but it was enough for Mewtwo to feel the insurmountable difference in strength.
On the other hand, Kyurem stood still. He watched the entire fight without moving, fully aware that this was a situation beyond his control. Kyurem's eyes stared at Yang Chen with a mix of fear and respect.
"Kyurem," said Yang Chen as he turned toward the ice Pokémon. "I won't disturb you any further. But I want you to know that if you keep rampaging like this, the world will become even more chaotic."
Kyurem nodded slowly as if understanding.
