Chapter 44 - The Awakening of Mewtwo

After witnessing Mewtwo fall onto the icy ground in a weakened state, Yang Chen slowly walked towards it. Mewtwo's purple eyes, which usually radiate pride and strength, are now dim, showing physical and mental exhaustion. The pressure from the previous battle and the intimidation of Yang Chen's aura had made him fully aware that the human figure before him was not an ordinary enemy—he was something beyond worldly understanding.

"Mewtwo," Yang Chen's calm voice echoed in the cold Antarctic air, "there's no point in fighting. Surrender yourself. You know I don't want to destroy you."

Mewtwo looked at him, appearing deep in thought. He pondered for a moment, then nodded slowly. The gesture was a clear sign: Mewtwo surrendered. Even though this step contradicts his pride as the strongest Pokémon, Mewtwo understands that fighting a creature like Yang Chen is futile.

Without saying anything more, Yang Chen extended his hand. Mewtwo hesitated for a moment before finally accepting the outstretched hand. With his super strength, Yang Chen lifted Mewtwo effortlessly, and the two of them sped toward Yang Chen's farm. On the way, the cold Antarctic wind felt like a gentle breeze, considering the incredible speed they were traveling.

Upon arriving at the farm, a peaceful atmosphere immediately enveloped Mewtwo, who had only known the battlefield until now. The warm sunlight and the gentle sounds of other Pokémon around the farm provided a new sense of tranquility for him.

In the main house of the farm, Reba, Yang Chen's wife, was already waiting. She was a natural healer with expertise in caring for Pokémon, especially those that were injured or weak. With her gentle smile, Reba welcomed Mewtwo, although in her heart she was surprised to see this legendary Pokémon under their care.

"What happened to him?" Reba asked while carefully examining Mewtwo's condition.

"He was injured in a big battle with Kyurem," replied Yang Chen while placing Mewtwo on a soft mat in the treatment room.

"He is also exhausted from the pressure received from Team Galaxy."

Reba nodded in understanding. She began to work, cleaning the small wounds on Mewtwo's body and giving him a special healing potion that she had concocted herself from natural ingredients around the farm. Mewtwo did not show any signs of resistance; it just lay still, observing this woman with curiosity.

"Not just ordinary humans... they are truly unique," thought Mewtwo.

A week passed, and Mewtwo's condition slowly began to improve. During his recovery, he observed the peaceful life on the farm. He saw how Yang Chen trained his Pokémon with discipline, yet remained full of love. He also witnessed how Reba took care of other Pokémon with great attention, ensuring they were all in the best condition.

Over time, Mewtwo began to feel that this place was different from the harsh world it had known. Yang Chen's farm is a place where strength and peace coexist.

One day, when Mewtwo finally felt strong enough to speak, it approached Yang Chen who was training with Dragonite.

"What are your plans for me?" he asked, using a telepathic voice.

Yang Chen turned with a faint smile. "Nothing. You are free to leave whenever you want. But I hope you consider staying here a little longer." The world out there is full of conflict, and I think you need time to find yourself."

Those words left Mewtwo speechless. All this time, he had always been used by Team Galaxy as a tool of destruction, but here, for the first time, he felt recognized as an individual. He decided to stay longer, at least until he found the answer to the question that troubled him:

"What is the true purpose of my existence?"
