Yang Chen and his family were engrossed in watching the final match of the North Region Tournament on TV, enjoying the vibrant competitive atmosphere. In the stadium filled with spectators, the best trainers from the region were battling it out, and the cheers of the audience echoed throughout the arena. Everything seemed calm and exciting until an unexpected incident occurred in the middle of the match.
As the match approached its final stages, Yang Chen's attention was drawn to something unusual. Among the crowd of spectators, he noticed a suspicious movement. Several individuals dressed in striking black cloaks were in the corner of the arena. Yang Chen could not immediately verify who they were, but his keen eyesight as a Kryptonian was able to catch details that would be missed by an ordinary person.
"There's something off," he murmured, his eyes narrowing in focus on the group of black cloaks.
Yang Chen knew very well that in the outside world, behind the existing peace, there was always a hidden dark side. Every year, several criminal groups always try to disrupt various major events, from tournaments to other gatherings. The Champions and Elite Four have dealt with those groups many times, but this time it's different. Yang Chen sensed a greater and more organized threat.
This group of black cloaks moves very smoothly, as if they have meticulously planned this attack. Even from a distance, Yang Chen could sense the tension they carried. However, even though his suspicion grew stronger, Yang Chen chose not to act hastily. He knew that with the superpowers he possessed, he could handle the situation quickly, but he also realized that this world had other ways to deal with such threats.
Yang Chen stared at the screen with vigilance, yet remained calm. With his extraordinary telescopic vision, he was able to see more hidden details within the arena. In the committee room located far behind the scenes, Yang Chen detected two individuals who seemed unusual. They are two trainers wearing official uniforms from the Pokémon Alliance China, an organization that oversees Pokémon tournaments and competitions across the country. However, what caught Yang Chen's attention was the fact that these two trainers had Pokémon teams with very high levels—around level 85 to 90.
"Protector of the Pokémon Alliance?" Yang Chen thought hard. "Why are they here?"
Although the trainers seemed to be acting as administrators and not part of the tournament, Yang Chen felt that something was amiss. Usually, the members of the Pokémon Alliance protectors are only involved in handling criminal cases that threaten society, not in the tournament itself. Moreover, having Pokémon of that caliber on their team clearly shows they are not just ordinary protectors. Yang Chen also noticed that they were very cautious and kept their distance from the people around them.
Even so, Yang Chen knew exactly how this world dealt with matters like these. The Elite Four and Champions from various regions must have already noticed the existence of that mysterious group, and they will surely do something. Yang Chen chose to stay in a safe position, waiting and monitoring the situation from a distance.
Reba, who was sitting next to him, also felt the tension in the air. Although she didn't know exactly what was happening, she saw Yang Chen's expression turn serious.
"What's wrong, dear?" she asked gently, noticing the change in her husband's demeanor.
Yang Chen took a deep breath. "I feel something unusual, Reba. That group in black cloaks... they are not ordinary people." I don't know what they want, but I'm sure they will do something big."
Reba nodded, understanding the tension that was gripping her husband. "Do we need to do something?"
Yang Chen paused for a moment, contemplating his answer. "No need... at least for now." I believe the Champions and Elite Four will handle this well. We will be safe here."
On the TV screen, the final match was heating up, but Yang Chen and Reba could not fully enjoy the game. Their minds were focused on the potential lurking threat. In the arena, the spectators seemed unaware of the approaching danger, while behind the scenes, the administrators and members of the Pokémon Alliance were becoming increasingly involved in what appeared to be darker planning.
Yang Chen knew that this threat could come at any time, and he had to remain ready to protect his family if things got worse. However, for now, he chose to stay silent and watch the situation develop with vigilance.
The final match finally ended, but the anxiety surrounding Yang Chen did not subside. Meanwhile, the group in black cloaks, along with two trainers from the Pokémon Alliance, were getting closer with an unknown purpose. This peaceful world, it seems, will not last much longer.
