Chapter 94 - The Price of Salvation

" There are obviously ways to still traverse between the planes of existence in this universe without the use of portals, as you saw back in Voldoor, but without a portal, most beings can only traverse from an immortal realm into a mortal one, not the other way around. Reylesh's demons, my angels and Nahzgor's cult all came here to Aria through those ulterior methods, but in doing so, we made it nigh impossible to return to our respective realms until Aatu decides to open the portals again. "

Damn… The fact that Izael and Nahzgor left their respective realms behind knowing that they might not ever return in order to come and help you fight really shows how devoted and honorable they are.

Roary and the King both emerge through the tower entrance from within the castle now that Izael and Nahzgor's armies have taken control of the fight and Princess Elise runs from Sir Gerard to her father, giving him a big hug. You're relieved to see that they're both okay, and you're met with a confused expression from the King as he asks a question.

" What in Mori's name is going on here?! My kingdom is in ruins, my castle has changed, and now there are Gods where my throne room once was!! "

Aatu responds calmly, informing the King of the current situation and choosing his words carefully.

" Your kingdom was under attack, so the Gods and I have taken the appropriate measures to protect what's left of your kingdom and its people. "

" This is preposterous! How come I have no knowledge of such an attack?! "

The King says as he and Roary finally reach you.

" Gerard!! Were you aware of this attack?! "

" No, your majesty. I don't seem to remember how I got here either. All of the sudden, I just happened to be in a room here with the Gods and this strange man, along with the daughter of Sir Arthur. "

Sir Gerard responds respectfully as he turns his attention towards you.

" You. "

The King says as he peers at you suspiciously.

" Who are you and what are you doing in my throne room? Where is Sir Arthur and why is his daughter here with you? Do her parents know where she is? "

You look over at Roary and see that he's giving you an ugly stare, obviously unable to recognize you, which causes the result of your actions to finally dawn on you…

By erasing the knowledge of The None and the Omniverse from everyone's memories, you've also erased the memory of who you are to them because you're an Otherlander.

" Answer. Now. Or else things are going to get ugly very fast. "

Roary barks at you in an assertive tone.

You look back at Roary in a heartbroken stare, realizing that he doesn't remember you and everything you've been through together. Before you can answer, Aatu speaks up in your defense.

" This mortal here is Abbadon. He's the one who informed us of the attack, and if it wasn't for him, you would all be dead and what's left of your kingdom would've fallen already. Sir Arthur and Lady Veronica have both passed on and they're in Havnahm, entrusting Abbadon here to protect their daughter so she doesn't share a similar fate. "

A look of shock washes over their faces upon re-learning this information and you want to tell Roary and the King everything that's happened. Despite this, you choke down your words and choose to remain silent, knowing that if you tell them, you'd be putting them at risk of being possessed by a Valghul just like Sir Arthur was when he first discovered the Omniverse.

" Reylesh, please take the King and his people to another room in the castle and inform them of the current state of affairs. I'd like to discuss our plan moving forward with the Gods and Abbadon in private. "

Aatu commands in a polite manner.

" Reylesh!? "

The King says as he looks at her with disgust. Then, realizing that the Dark Gods are among them as well, he makes the connection that the giant God wearing gold armor is Nahzgor before staring at him with a look of terror.

" You invited the Dark Gods into my castle?! I refuse to believe that the Eldest God in our pantheon would commit such an act of heresy! Our Lord and God, Aatu, do you really expect us to go with a vile and disgusting Goddess such as her!? "

The King asks stubbornly, questioning Aatu's judgement. Aatu glares at the King in a resolute demeanor and insists.

" You will do as I command. I advise that you watch your tongue when speaking about my siblings. A wise man such as yourself surely realizes that there are consequences for offending the Gods, even if you happen to be the King over other mortals. "

The King, realizing that he's letting his emotions get the best of him, takes a deep breath to collect himself in order to avoid the wrath of the Gods before him.

" Yes, my God… we will obey. "

The King says before motioning Sir Gerard, Roary, Princess Elise and his royal guards to follow him and Reylesh out of the room. Once they all leave and the entrance to the tower is sealed, you're left alone with the rest of the Gods and Mimi, who looks up at you and asks you a question in a sad tone.

" Star Faller, what's the matter with everybody? Why are they talking to you like that? "

You look down at Mimi, who's standing beside you.

" Mimi… "

You say to her as you kneel down to her eye level and put your hands gently on her shoulders, realizing that her memories weren't tampered with at all.

" You were right… I was strong enough and I found a way to save the day… but in order for them to be saved, I had to make them forget me. Knowing who I am is dangerous for everybody, and I didn't want them to be in any more danger. "

" But Star Faller, I still know who you are… Does that mean that I'm in danger…? "

Mimi replies in a scared and nervous tone. You immediately become worried, realizing that Mimi may very well be at risk knowing of the Omniverse, so you look at Aatu for some sort of answer. Aatu, immediately knowing what you're thinking, shakes his head denying the possibility of Mimi being in danger in a reassuring manner. You think about Aatu's answer for a moment before it all begins to make sense.

That's right. You never actually explained to Mimi what the Omniverse or a Valghul really was. You told her that Valghuli were bad spirits and you spoke about the Omniverse in her presence, but that doesn't mean that she fully understood what you were talking about.

You smile softly before giving Mimi a hug, answering her question in a fatherly tone.

" No, Mimi… you're not in danger. You're gonna be okay. I promise. "

Mimi tears up as she hugs you, and it warms your heart knowing that Mimi still remembers you even though everybody else doesn't anymore.

Suddenly, you're both startled by several Valghuli that break through the tower walls and windows, sliding across the room in every direction before quickly getting up and rushing the Gods in the room with you in an attempt to kill them.

You immediately stand back up, protecting Mimi as Nahzgor shouts at you.

" Now! Give me this power, Abbadon, so I may slay these foul unbeings for what they've done! "

Nahzgor turns and yells at you as he uses his golden chains swirling around him to barely keep the Valghuli at bay.

" Open the book and visualize The Light! Focus on your intent and hone in on all of the lost souls that are there and praying for us! "

Aatu shouts at you as he splits himself into several copies in order to protect his siblings from the Valghuli that are attempting to overwhelm them. Pulling the book out of your robes and opening it, you bury your fears from what the book previously showed you as everything slows down once again and you focus on empowering the Gods of this universe. You close your eyes, thinking about being in The Light, and you begin to hear prayers from all kinds of beings in an infinite amount of languages to Aatu, Izael, Faerah, Nahzgor and Reylesh.

Feeling the emotions of these infinite souls that are all praying simultaneously, you manifest a bridge between The Light and this universe, turning The Light into an immortal realm that belongs to the universe that you're currently in. Once The Light becomes one with the universe you're currently in, you see the Gods in the room with you all explode with a powerful glowing aura that matches their corresponding colors; and as they come into this new power, they all begin to defy The Holy Omniverse Transcript slowing them down and move as if they're unaffected by the book.

Faerah simply walks over beside you and holds your hand as the Valghuli all move incredibly slow, and you both watch as her three brothers absolutely decimate the group of Valghuli that just tried to get the jump on you. Aatu, Izael and Nahzgor have no mercy in annihilating the physical forms of these Valghuli which causes them to vacate their hosts and look for another, only to find that every other surviving mortal of this universe no longer has knowledge of The None within their minds.
