Re-Estize Kingdom
Territory of Marquis Blumrush
City of Ironford
In a gothic-style European mansion located to the north of the city, a young child between the ages of 4-5 could be seen staring blankly at the sky while laying on the grass.
It had been almost an hour yet that blank look still remained in his ocean-like blue eyes.
"Young Master" called out a maid with an obvious look of worry as she stared at the golden-haired child before her.
Seemingly finally snapping out of his trance the young child turned his head mechanically, staring at his maid with an apparent hint of confusion adorning his features.
"Yes?" he replied as he rose to his feet while looking at her.
"My lord is requesting your summons to his study" the maid replied with that look of worry still apparent on her face.
"Excuse my rudeness Master Rhael, but are you okay?" seemingly hesitantly before finally mustering up the courage she asked.
"I'm okay Celia, I was just a bit tired from all my lessons today" replied Rheal as he walked towards her, making his way to the mansion door leading to the first wing.
looking back and noticing the look of worry still present on the maid, Rhael thought it best to dismiss her before stepping through the door.
'Sigh'
while walking forward Rheal couldn't help but think about just how crazy the situation he found himself in was.
Reincarnation.
A common trope found in various light novels and mangas where the protagonist dies and gets reincarnated in another world.
Stories with these themes tended to be quite popular as they offered a means of escape from mundane life and this just happened to be Rheal's favourite genre as well.
But never in a million years did he ever think that he would one day find himself as the protagonist of one of those stories.
Rhael Valor Ramesses.
This is the name of the child he found himself reincarnated into.
The first child to a family of Viscounts located in the kingdom of Re-estize.
Yep, you heard that right. It is the same Re-estize kingdom belonging to that popular anime/manga series 'Overlord'.
At first, after finally awakening the memories of his past life, he just thought that it was a kingdom with a similar name.
"If only" Rhael whispered under his breath with a bit of frustration in his voice as he continued walking towards his father's study.
After going through all of his memories until now, no matter how badly he wanted to deny it, he knew for a fact that he got reincarnated into the hellscape for humans known as overlord.
Maybe it wasn't apparent to most viewers when watching the anime but Overlord was basically about a bunch of monsters massacring humanity and declaring their rulership over them.
This was a world where humans resided at the bottom of the food chain and the only reason they were able to survive this long was due to the constant influx of players from YGGDRASIL.
Starting with the Six Great Gods followed by the Eight Greed Kings who conquered the new world with their overwhelming might.
It was with their help that humanity was finally able to gather enough time to stand on its own and start developing.
But even then the potential of humans were quite limited compared to the other races found in the new world such as the elves, dragons and beastmen.
Thinking of this Rhael couldn't help but feel a bit of dread and hopelessness creeping in again as he stood before the door of his father's study.
Shaking his head to rid himself of that feeling, Rhael finally pushed open the door to the study and walked in.
Walking in he found himself face to face with a man with arguably the most commanding "aura" he's seen in both lives so far.
With a jawline sharp enough to cut diamonds, sword-like eyebrows, and eyes as deep and mesmerizing as the ocean, he was a vision of striking intensity. To top it all off, his golden hair cascaded over his shoulders like a lion's mane, exuding power and majesty.
This was Viscount Theron Alaric Ramesses, one of the most powerful military nobles in the entire kingdom ranked just below the 6 great nobles and a general with enough strength to fight against the average Adamantite adventurer.
The Ramesses family was originally a family of humans with dwarven ancestry responsible for supplying the kingdom with weapons but it over time evolved into not just one of the biggest arms dealers but also one of the nobles with the strongest armies in the kingdom.
Despite looking no different from the regular nobles of the kingdom through various aristocratic marriages in the past 300 years, the Ramesses family is well known for their raw brutish strength and exceptional forging and crafting skills.
"Sit down, Val" came the sonorous voice of the viscount while gesturing towards the seat in front of him upon noticing his son entering the room.
Watching his young son take a seat and making himself comfortable the voice of the viscount came once more, this time with a bit of enquiry while staring at his son.
"How are your studies going?" he asked
"They have been going great Father" replied Rhael to the viscount
The only reply he got back though was simply silence as the viscount continued to stare at him for about a minute or 2 before simply nodding his head and continuing the conversation
For the next 10 or so minutes, both Rhael and the viscount engaged in a simple conversation where they talked about his studies and his well-being.
Throughout this conversation though Rhael could feel his nervousness melt away with each passing minute and he could feel himself opening up more and more to the viscount, who despite the majestic exterior being displayed obviously had a lot of affection for his son
Finally, the tone of the viscount underwent a sudden shift becoming more Stern and serious.
"Your first coming-of-age ceremony will begin in the next 4 days and I expect nothing but your best"
"Following your coming-of-age ceremony you will finally start your Knight training, the teacher that I have found for you is an ex-Orichalcum ranked adventure known as the 'Gentle Sword' "
"Any questions?" asked the viscount
"No, Father!" Rhael replied in the most serious tone possible (at least for a child)
'Adorable' the viscount thought as he stared at Rhael with a subtle smile gracing his lips before quickly suppressing it.
His son was undoubtedly a genius, and this was something agreed upon by all those who have had the pleasure of teaching him.
By the 9th month after being born, he had already taken his first steps and started learning how to walk and by the age of 1, he could already speak and started learning how to express himself.
It was impossible for the viscount to be unsatisfied with such a sensible son, and this was the exact reason why he had to make sure that Rhael never grew up to become like the rest of the useless and incompetent nobles in the kingdom if not for his own sake then at least for the sake of his deceased wife.
"Your Dismissed Val" stated the viscount while gesturing towards the door of his study in that same sonorous but slightly cold voice from earlier.
Rising from his seat and giving a slight bow to his father, Rhael strode towards the exit of the study before turning around closing the door and walking towards his quarters.
After about 5 or so minutes of walking Rhael found himself in what was basically a presidential suite.
At the heart of the room stood a four-poster bed, its towering frame of dark oak carved with intricate designs of vines. Heavy velvet curtains hung from the posts, a deep green embroidered with threads of gold that shimmered faintly in the firelight. The bed itself was piled high with feather-stuffed pillows and layered with quilts so fine they might have been spun from moonlight.
Throwing himself onto the bed, Rhael couldn't help but feel all of his worries start to melt away and couldn't help but lamenting how 'depraved' the life of nobles were.
'Is this what sleeping on a cloud feels like' he mused
It had been almost 3 hours now since he finally regained the memories of his past life and even now he still found it hard to accept the absurd situation he found himself in.
Sighing and shaking his head once again to rid himself of his negative thoughts, Rhael decided it best to just close his eyes and get some rest for now and just hope that this was all just a dream.
