After all, Chen Zhiyu had long resigned himself to his present miserable fate. Hence, he knew why the two were here, infact, the entire humiliation began right from this invitation stage as long as Chen Zhiyu could remember.
"Drag him along, we can't keep Lord Xizi waiting much longer" the first guard Chen Yao said as his eyes flashed with a cold glint.
Dragging? Yes, it was their most convenient means to take him there against his wish.
And there was so little he could do after all, to resist with his weak physique and zero martial cultivation.
A piercing chill rushed down Chen Zhiyu's spine, causing him to shudder rather involuntarily because of the cold feeling. The second guard known as Chen Dong reached out for Chen Zhiyu's robe and easily grabbed him by the shoulder before he could even put up an act of resistance.
With his power, it was not a problem for him to easily lift Chen Zhiyu off the ground as he wasn't heavy. However, Chen Xizi instructed that Chen Zhiyu should be dragged like an object to the party whenever they made the invitations.
He was only being an obedient servant to his master, nothing personal at all.
In a matter of minutes, they arrived at Chen Xizi's luxurious pavilion. At the courtyard, Chen Xizi was seated on a precious crystalline chair condensed from ice. His hair was decolored, not black but with bluish strands tattered around his natural white hair.
It was common knowledge for the males of the Chen clan to possess white hair since birth and neither Chen Zhiyu nor Chen Xizi were exceptions to this transfer of genes. The history behind it was far too long, it was so long that information about it in their present generation would be filled with so many questionable loopholes.
Chen Xizi also had blue gems in the place of eyes, of course as a metaphorical representation of his blue eyes that were like polished gemstones. However, these eyes suddenly released a freezing chill to the surroundings as soon as Chen Zhiyu landed.
"Cousin Yu, how have you been all this while" Chen Xizi took the initiative to ask, though his face carried an indifferent and detached look.
Chen Zhiyu didn't reply, only muffled grunts and gasps escaped his lips considering how he was exhausted when he was dragged around by the guards.
Chen Xizi's expression darkened as he read Chen Zhiyu's silence as a rebellious act. It was unbearable to think that he was actually snubbing him in the face in the presence of his servants.
Around Chen Xizi were loyal servants of the Chen clan with the least of them possessing cultivation at the Fourth level of Body Tempering. Usually, the number of guards here should belong to him as the Young Master and Chen Xizi should also act restrained around him. But without strength, no one cared about if he lived to the next day or died the day after.
It only mattered that they stood in support or allegiance to Chen Xizi for their own good. There used to be servants who stood in for Chen Zhiyu but they were used as scapegoats and slaughtered or taxed with impossible missions outside the clan that would most times lead them to inescapable death in the end.
So over time, even though there were servants who thought Chen Xizi's actions were overboard or irregular, they did not dare to confront him again. After all, people could easily swerve the sides as long as it swerved in their selfish gain. It was probably understandable why Chen Zhiyu was a loner in the place where he ought to call his home.
Today, the servants by Chen Xizi's side were studying Chen Zhiyu with intimidating looks, some even wore condescending stares as they looked at him. The martial world ruled itself based on the principle of the strong ruled the weak.
If Chen Zhiyu had even half the cultivation of a typical Young Master, being at the Foundation Establishment later levels, these servants would not dare to be this unhinged around him no matter what.
They would even be docile like lambs, answering to every call he made. But now that it appeared that he was only the trashiest of trashy young masters to have ever lived, they could only mask the air with ridicule and bizarre auras.
As for Chen Xizi, since he was the orchestrator of their unruly attitude, he didn't care about the treatments they meted out to him. As for the fortnight party which he initiated, these servants were also an audience and they always got quality entertainment from watching Chen Zhiyu being paraded in humiliation.
"Let the show begin" Chen Xizi's temper cooled off and he suddenly announced with a smirk, his hand lightly tapping on the armrest of his crystal 'throne'.
Shortly after, food and drink was passed around and reached everyone of the audience who sat back in teeming excitement as they awaited the show of shame from Chen Zhiyu.
SNAP!
Chen Xizi's fingers snapped together to mimic a call signal in the air.
Right then, five hefty men dressed in black robes that covered them from their nose which was masked to the soles of their feet walked out and surrounded Chen Zhiyu. Chen Zhiyu's eyes seemed to flicker for a moment before becoming calm like an ancient well that had not stirred in centuries.
No ripples could be seen which indirectly meant no one could read his thoughts too. But the truth remained that nobody cared about whatever an idiot or trashy Young Master like Chen Zhiyu was thinking about anyways.
Before one could catch their breath, the five black robed men began making moves. Following a synchronized arrangement, they suddenly contorted into weird positions with their backs arched like arrows on a bowstring which was building momentum to be shot.
The surroundings turned into a blur in Xiao Ming's view as they spat out five coiling ropes which they held firmly in their hands. The ropes were filled with little thorns on the side except the handle points which was where they held.
They cast a menacing glance at Chen Zhiyu all at the same time. Chen Zhiyu was petrified on seeing the thorned ropes but he was helpless about it.
Even some servants in the audience subconsciously released gulps as their hearts paced with fear. This was a noble with the same bloodline as Lord Xizi after all, but he was tormented to such an extent.
If anyone amongst them were to also fall into Chen Xizi's bad books...they could only hope that such a day never came.
